  1. Ye. It works that way as well. I'm not denying that. Just simpler to do work it how all the other piston maker dudes do it. RBs are easy because they are application specific. But when you start doing funky stuff like 6" chev rods and pistons designed for a 347 stroker windsor v8 in a Cleveland v8 it becomes dicky when some people say -ve and others say +ve lol
  2. the new V8 has the turbos in the valley and the intakes on the outside (ala F1/Sports car motors of years gone by)
  3. Why would it need two boost gauges? Only has one intake plenum
  4. So really I was just having a dig at the CP website. For eg, im building a V8 up. Now I have heads with a 58cc chamber volume and I need pistons with a -6cc volume at 0 deck height to get the comp I want (11.5:1). If I was building it to take a turdbro or a supercharger I would need something like a -15cc dish to have a lowish comp ratio. Now if CP listed there Ford Cleveland pistons like that, I would see the -15.5cc volume and order those because they will give me low comp....So imagine my suprise when I open the box and...."Oh look they are a dome top, I wonder how a blown v8 will like 16:1 comp?" See my point?
  5. Fair enough, was trying to get away with the factory lines because they are a huge pain to get to even as factory, cant imagine what it would be like trying to tighten water feeds on the sides that face the block.
  6. You guys are missing the point. Combustion chambers have NOTHING to do with piston crown volume Compression Distance (in) 1.193 in - So from the centreline of the gudgeon pin to the edge of the piston crown is 1.193". If the piston was dead level along the crown aka a flat top piston the crown volume would be classed as 0cc, if it is raised aka dome top than it would be + 15.5cc. A dished piston (or inverted dome as some call it) will have a negative volume. As an example the first one in this list (SRP 138093) has a -5cc volume due to the valve reliefs The one underneath (SRP 140674) has a +11cc dome due to the raised crown. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/KeywordSearchCmd?Ne=1%2b2%2b3%2b13%2b1147708%2b1147708&Ntt=350&langId=-1&Ntk=all&storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&N=4294964093&Nty=0
  7. *cough* Rs Watannabe's or Mini-lights
  8. Quoted for awesomeness I have been teaching you well young pada-wan
  9. Cool Are you able to do anything with the stock CHRA's? or is there no choice but to use the GT28s?
  10. That would be because its follow the leader here in Aus. a couple of cars get ok results on GT30s then 1000 cars have them....or because HKS turbos are done by garrett and everyone wants those.
  11. Ah I follow I would just really like to see another series become the "premier" series rather than the taxi's
  12. Ah cool...havent really followed it this year But not Tony C please unless you want the GT cars to be running 4 cyl hyandai motors on LPG and having to have the same body mounted on a big go kart chassis
  13. been drinking?
  14. Will Tony try and get some decent races happening as its own series? Or just play 2nd fiddle and do 10/12 lap races here and there? I and many many others would love to see this take off and get air time with propper length races
  15. I would wait but you can still do it...just depends on whether you want to pay for tuning twice, 2 dump pipes (RB30 one needs to be longer) etc GT35 wont be the most responsive thing on a stock 25 but plenty of peoole still use them.
  16. I offer some pocket lint, half a pack of winnie blues and the missus for 1/2hr Tis a noice car btw I want
  17. Please please please don't put simmonds rims on the car...like every other Capella/RX2/808/RX3 out there I love these cars PP 12a will be awesome!
  18. oil feed for the VCT in the NEO, and head bolts are bigger in diameter for the 26
  19. famous last words?
  20. some bits of the app look ok the 1/8th and 1/4 times might be ok
  21. You have done all that...but its still not working properly
  22. sound like iphail app results 177rwkws.....yeah no even 177guesstimate flywheel is bogus
  23. Is it a gts-t or gts with a turbo motor thrown in?
  24. no it isnt are you saying the piston has a 40 something cc dome? or that the 26 chamber vol is 15.5cc? edit - just worked it out and using a 0 deck height piston at 40cc dome the comp ratio is 25:1
