What's wrong with Mark Webber??
Silver-Arrowz replied to ZigenGT's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Do they have to be at Senna or Prosts level to be world champion? JV, Hakkinen and Hill are great drivers with championships to their names but aren't regarded in the same arena as Prost and Senna. Guys like Senna and Prost are a once in a generation time deal. Kimi and Alonso are looking to be the next F1 kings. Webber is good. It's the chassis that's lacking. Williams always have had aero problems. Last season and the season before it's the same story, Gobsmack load of HP (fast in speed traps) but lap times are slow. And Frank and Patrick's solution to fixing their aero problems is dead set wrong... firing their head of aerodynamics. Mclaren were having issues with their twin keel setup last season but they never fired suspension guru Mike Coughlan. They made him work his ass off to find the solution since he designed the setup. BMW are leaving Williams because they know how lacking the chassis is. BMW want control over the chassis design. -
Difference between 1 & 2 piece rotors?
Silver-Arrowz replied to writeoff's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Not much rice HP because no stickers involved. -
I think people should appreciate all kinds of cars and get over the badge thing. Mock the OHV all you want but it's the end result that counts. I see people mocking Monaro's/Commo's/Falcons but what about a Z06 Corvette? It uses a LS1 and now a LS2 motor. That's a capable car in itself. Porsche up until recently (the 993 incarnations of the 911) were running SOHC 2 valves per cylinder. That's very low tech compared to a Nissan of the same era with DOHC and 4 valves/cylinder. Porsche still use strut suspension setup, compared to double wishbones on Skylines up front and multi-links on the rear. Which one handles and grips better? Like I said, appreciate all cars in all colors and formats, and get over the badge/name thing.

Rice?!? Good Or Bad?!?
Silver-Arrowz replied to t.michelsons's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I don't like rice but it's your car. It's going to sit in your garage and your the one who has to look at it everyday. Just be weiry that cops are going to hone in on you when you drive pass. Rice car + P plater = easy target. -
:hellpisd: I can't believe it! 3 in a row! The engines are supposed to last 2 races and it can't even make 1 weekend!

Poll....What type of Skyline do you drive?
Silver-Arrowz replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I have a RWD, mid-mounted Skyline with a toymotor inside it. :uh-huh: -
Chopped springs will make your car bounce on bumpy roads (aka, Sydney roads) and float like a butterfly (but won't sting like a bee) around corners. Drove my cousin's Mirage with chopped springs and I was shitting myself driving at 60km/h. Not worth the headaches.

HELP! Has this car been rebirthed?
Silver-Arrowz replied to Jpowys's topic in General Automotive Discussion
My exact thoughts! -
German GP this weekend... PLEASE MERCEDES..... No more engine go kaput! Anyhow, for those that are interested, BMW are looking to recruit personel for 2006. http://f1.racing-live.com/f1/en/headlines/...721104118.shtml I think I'll apply for head of aerodynamics. I'll send them some samples of my paper aeroplanes and schematics too. I know I'm bound to get a call from Dr. Mario Theissen! :uh-huh:

*Rant* Alliance SUCKS! Period! My 42 pali went to battle grounds and it was so disgusting how the people on the allinace are so self centered. Always chasing HK and totally ignoring the flag. I asked the group I was with "what about defence around our flag?" and the reponse I got was "who needs defence". So shameful how we barely lasted 7 mins. I think battlegrounds should release a new rule where if you lose your flag in X amount of time you lose any HK you made in that session. My pali is going to be purely RP only now. I'm gonna work my undead warlock and then go PVP and spank some "alliance" butt!

HICAS typically plays up on skylines. Easier to remove it and put a lock bar there. GTRGeoff sells them. But it's your choice. Personally I never liked HICAS. The rear was never stable because me and the HICAS computer were always trying to correct each other.

Talk me out of buying a S8 Rx-7
Silver-Arrowz replied to Tommyk's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I've done the GTR thing so I'll take a RX7 for the sake of curiosity. I'd like to own a RWD/front engine for change, and also just cause it's a rotor. -
Nope! Fair enough you get tyre kickers but that's what comes with selling a car privately. If your not convinced they're genuine then drive the car with them in the paasnager. Before I brought my previous car, the GTR, I was looking at a S15. Being 21yo, the guy said that for me to get a test drive, I had to show him I was financially capable of buying the car first, then he'll let me test it. I didn't say one word to the idiot and turned around and walked out on him. Other Nissan dealers didn't shun me that bad but the general idea was "go home and bring your dad" or "yeah right, keep dreaming". Afterwards I went to the Mazda dealer close by and asked about a new MX5. He guy didn't even talk money first. He asked me when I wanted to test drive one and went about arranging it asap. They looked at me as a human being. Unlike Nissan who think they were God or something. I'll never buy car from any Nissan Australia. Sorry but the S15 is no Ferrari for them to demand something like that.

We're ricers still in the closet. :bahaha: Where is Dino anyway? And Fatz on the grass is a show in itself.

I'll try to make it to more SAU events in future. I feel alienated without a Skyline but these Skyline fanatics need to learn a thing or 2 about toymotors. Oh what a feeling..... Toymotor!

Getting some in soon! I'll have my fun through corners... hehe

R34 4 Door or JZX100 Chaser
Silver-Arrowz replied to ?UESTLOVE's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Chaser. If you want to mod, shoehorn a 2JZ with 6 speed box..... Oh baby! -
Congrats on a wonderful day! Good to see new faces and catch up with some of the old.
-
Oi! Don't make fun of my toymotor...
-
*looks at his car* Anyone willing to donate 2 jet engines?
-
The Williams/BMW relation is all but over. I hope Williams get some manufactuer backing them soon cause customer engines aren't the same as manufactuer backing. Mercedes better get their act together for the next meet. They've given Alonso too many presents.
-
Kimi's like Mika. Smile only so often, and answers are so PR worked. But man these finns, they're quick!
-
Big Bulsh*t! Yeah you don't get much of an idea with that CGI demo. Looks cool but that's just it.
-
That's what I can't understand. Very rare you see Merc's and Bimmers break down on the roads, yet they can't make their F1 motors as reliable. *Sigh* I hope I don't have to wait for 06 for another Maccas' F1 crown.

R32 GTS-T vs GTS-4 comparison articles
Silver-Arrowz replied to wantsanr32's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
This is where people misunderstand. There is a difference between handling and grip. Best example, WRX. WRX's grip, but handling needs work on. Of course the GTS4 will grip better. But take the GTS4 out on the circuit and it will suffer more understeer than a GTST. Weight up front you can't help. But here is where it becomes subjective. Some prefer their car to understeer while others prefer oversteer. Like Roy, I've become a purist. RWD action for me because I'm a control freak and don't want computers thinking for me.
