  1. ok - further to markr33's thread - OK guys - I have emailed several members of parliament and the senate about my concerns for this new law AND the proposed "dob in a hoon". I have offered alternative solutions to the problem, such as driver training etc. Everyone else should do the same. Email Matt Birney - shadow police minister! [email protected] Make sure it in constructive and say why you think the law is wrong and how it should be changed. We CAN get a petition going and all we need is 1 signature for it to be presented to the house. We have to ask an MP to present it to the house for us. I will contact my local non - labour MP to help. Read http://www.parliament.wa.gov.au/web/newweb...bly+-+Petitions I am going to prepare a petition and have it at PAS (hopefully we are allowed) - we will get alot of signatures there. I will also bring it to our cruises. We can all sit on the forums and whinge, but we have to at least TRY to do something about it. I hope everyone will support me in this.
  2. hey Sorry to make ANOTHER thread on anti hoon laws..... but todays west reports that if Labour get voted in next election she will bring in that people can dob in other people for hooning. The WA road Safety council spokesman - Grant Dorrington - basically said everyone on the road can be like a police officer and have the right to report people doing the wrong thing. WHAT THE?? The greens have proposed that police time would be better spent training drivers, not coinfiscating vehicles. Which I agree with. Just because they get thier car confisicated doesnt make them a better driver.... they will probably just be more sneaky about "hooning". The greens are also concerned that peoples cars are going to be confisicated on heresay. the article http://www.thewestaustralian.com.au/200409...-sto129373.html I used to vote labour and was once a member of the young labour party..... but after this I refuse to vote for the pathetic excuse of a political party. What are your thoughts?

  14. Hey Did anyone listen to the "keeping it real" segment on Groove FM 101.7 last night (16th August). It was on between 5pm - 7pm. The topic was "modidfying your car". They had Darren form Technik in Willeton and also the head engineer from Road Safety or something were giving information. I thought the whole thing was uninformative in general. Most of it was about how police pick on certain stereotypes etc etc The discussion was mainly lead by the dumb questions the public were asking (like how do I NOT get a yellow sticker? deerrrrr) and Darren did his best to answer them. Well done Darren! Did anyone else hear it? If so what did they think of it? Cheers Liz
