Bush bearing. Best to read the first page http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...131723&st=0 and chat to Slide here on the forums. -
Yeah David, his phones been out on no credit... its back on today. Lol, he's been busy with my car Sorry !

lol, another 9years of ownership for me

The dump pipe had one really long bolt stuck in where a really short bolt shoulda been, such a stupid thing when installed by the fitters. Fn idiots. This one bolt took over an hour to undo as it was near impossible to grab and turn it. The water feed bolt took an hour and a bit, was real hard to get lined up. Hour for the auto cooler. Cleaned up a few things, changed most fluids etc. On first startup oil leaked, so had to redo the oil feed line, the surfaces-join was out due to a lump in the oil feed connector crimp. Needed to be adjusted. Wasnt a fast pace; a backyard job so time taken wasnt really an issue. Was charged $250, paid $300 plus smokes for the mech and some cash for replacement oil I pinched from him...... lol, got a mix of 5w40 and 10w50 Penrite hahaha. etc Today had the seat rail extended by 35mm. Will get some brakets made up and get another 35mm leg room. Stag goes 'well'

Hey mate, yeah Ian after the tune without a doubt it'll have a lazy 200awkw at say 14.5psi. Aaron reckons more and I think he's right, however I'll get a nice safe tune, for economy I suppose. Dont want to stress any other components of the car. I reckon at 17psi, if I wanted to go that far, she'd have 220awkw and the injectors would need am upgrade. Dont need that sort of power, 195-205awkw is fine for me Please note ppls that Im using a safc and sitc. Without a doubt tho right now she's pulling pretty hard. My current guess of 175awkw at 12psi might be conservative I think. Need to get the AFR's checked tho, want to be safe about it all. Tune it after xmas when my work goes on 2weeks xmas holidays. To All Stagea Owners: The Sliding performance turbo is an awesome upgrade, I dont think it'd be quite as responsive down low as a GCG (bush compared to ball bearings), however for the price its a great package. We've got heavy cars, but mine is really moving and thats on the old tune. The turbo sounds wicked too. Im uber-impressed.

Thats right mate, for sure, it'd be a case by case basis. Ask for an approx price per job lads. Ive used him a few times so he will always give me good pricing. The Bilstein & whiteline suspn install back in April was around $200. He wanted less but I made sure I paid what I thought it was worth. Then had a service done and that was cheap. This turbo install (what a biatch of a job), auto oil cooler fitup, and service, he said $250? Ryan spent over 13hrs doing this, and doing it properly. Im impressed, thats for sure. I was slowing him down without a doubt, lol, but I refused to pay that. Thought it only fair to pay $320 plus $10 for smokes, and $20 for the oil I had to scab off him; the oil feed to the turbo wasnt tight enough on startup and it pissed out a bit........ oh, I let him keep my original auto oil cooler, so we both definately looked after each other. If he doesnt know you, its a 1st job etc, and just say it was a turbo install to a Skyline, expect to pay $300 - 350 dependant on time spent? Im only assuming tho. Get an approx price first lads, thats all, but all I can say is he's a top lad who knows what he's doing. A lot better then shop rates thats for sure. Mates rates rock................. Hope that helps. I just thought $250 was too cheap, so I wanted to look after him. I budgeted for $350 so thats what I gave him. In return he'll help me with the brakes another day for nothing. Today Im off to see Pete (66 Skyline GT) and he'll help me alter the seat rails in exchange for a big discount on the sale of the stnd RB25 turbo for his RB20det old skool beast. It has no shaft play whatsoever, in amazing condition. Worth $250 I reckon, for Pete a lot lot less tho, gotta look after fellow SAUers. Problem is, with the huge swollen knee, I can only sit and be the tool biatch, and help with the basic stuff. But it'll be nice to fit comfy in my car, damned 6ft8in long legs

In the forced induction thread there is a recent post about $170 040 pumps, from a melbourne ford place. I bought mine from them, off ebay, and had it in 2 days. Great service, under $200 delivered.

My knee is really sore from the patellectomy 3 weeks ago, really swolen from being on my feet for 2 days........ so I havent driven it too much, just 20mins worth. It spools up nicely, not that far 'behind' standard, but as soon as she is into positive boost pressure she skips her heals and really picks up. Exactly what I expected I suppose, and what I wanted. Heavy Stagea will be nice in city traffic, and a beast when unleashed. Id definately recommend the VG30 highflow for your car Cubes. Would bring a smile to your friendly face for sure -
Slide turbo is on, man Im happy. What a ripper of a turbo, really pulls hard. Definately a quality product without a doubt. I must surely have over 175awkw at the moment, at 12psi on the 'old tune'. Will easily see 200awkw I have no doubt. Now to save for a tune. Cant drive it much, knee is too sore as its been a long 2 days doing the install, but my half hour drive impressed me so much, I like the characteristics of the package. Off boost it seems normal, and from 2500rpm it just pulls. Pulls hard, will be real strong at 1bar without a doubt. Very impressive.

Ryan did a fantastic job on the turbo install, and the other goodies that were fitted up. Definately give him a call lads; definately if you are a southener. Very very happy, great bloke who does an honest job. Knows skylines inside out, could do any job Im sure.

Hey mate.... yeah exactly same deal, took off that support bolt and with bending it fits ok. I havent got the vg30, just a R33 stnd highflow from Aaron (Slide), I believe The oil line I had made up from Pirtek cost me under $70, but the actual fitting at the turbo end was a bit lumpy, and the first tightened seal wasnt good enough. Turned it over for first fire up and oil started bubbling, with a damned quick shut down Had to adjust the angle of the feed, and did up the bolt REAL tight. I'll have a go in a cple days time at tightening it a little more. Anyways its all on, and Ive already gone on past 10psi. Ran that sweetly, pressed the 12psi button and wow she zips! Im really impressed. Really impressed. Stnd turbo tuned at 12psi had 160awkw, Im sure this would have a fair bit more then that at the moment. Lol, without a doubt! Got plenty of power getting to the 4wheels, maybe over 175awkw at 12psi at the moment? This will definately see my power target of 200awkw at 1bar. She'll tune up nicely, Im sure. Auto, heavy Stagea, AWD, Slide turbo, fmic, cai pod, z32, fpr, 040 pump, 3in exhaust, ebc, safc, sitc plus all the suspn goodies etc etc etc -
Still not sold, unvelievable. Might have to take it to a shop closer to the city I think. Priced to sell at $10k. Read about your mate on the R6, terrible news. I wish him a speedy recovery. Umm, what invisble bike picture? Dont get what ya mean........ For my bike there are a cple of pics in the link below, or the bike can be seen currently down south at the Yamaha shop next to barncle bills at Morphett vale. I never really took that many pics of it.

cheers mate - now that its not dark anymore, should be easier to do up that one last pesky bolt wont bother about the brake upgrade at this stage; another day.

Cheers all, Im sure a little dab of grease to stick the washer to the turbo will do the trick. Its actually the outside water feed line that faces away from the engine. Musta just been late last night and we were tired. Was dark, lol. Pretty fidley, without the right tools youd have no hope. Everything is bolted back up except this one water feed. Fluids go in and thats that. Will report back. -
yeah, cheers mate. My thoughts late last night were to stick the washer down first with something, say oil or grease or gasket goop etc, and then get that thread to take. oh well, back to finish off the job ta mate.

Cubes - any suggestion on how to (calmly) put the top turbo water feed banjo hard up against the turbo and feed the bolt in? Due to using the washers its just too much of a handful........

Any suggestions on how to bolt up the top water line? Its a tight fit............. trying to get the washer on, the line, then the bolt with the other washer, and its all just very very tight. My thought is to stick the first washer to the turbo. Got everything for the turbo bolted up and ready, just need to get this water line on, and add the new fluids. Wont get to the brake kit at this stage. Those who say here on the forums that the turbo-off is a 1hr job must be kidding themselves. That is simply untrue. Been aropund 8hrs so far I think. -
Mate, call Ryan. His number is now 0401 727 440 R31 silver, yeah, awesome lad hey, he's my mechanic too !! Did the first install at my home (sydneykid suspn) and this lot we are doing at his place down south. In fact, today's work got shifted to tomorrow. Doh. Lol, all is good: he became an uncle late last night! Congrats. On my Stagea tomorrow we are fitting a highflowed Slide turbo, front and rear braided brake lines, front slotted rotors, new pads, auto oil cooler kit, oil filter, fuel filter, oil sump drain valve..... got an adjustable exhaust cam gear wheel and the front whiteline caster bushes but dont think we'll have time for these. The whitelinefront castor kit needs a 10T press to push them on. I reckon I'll get these punched on when I have the 4wd Stagea wheel-aligned over xmas. The camber kits Im sure Ryan would have no trouble with.

Nah I was never going to the photoshoot - Im still recovering from the patellectomy to my right knee. Cant drive that far. Only driven twice, for 5mins 2 weeks ago just to get outa the house, and 15mins on Saturday morning to get the car service products I needed, for tomorrows turbo upgrade, etc. Hope it went well there Steve! Huddy nice Stagea, black is mean thats for sure. I reckon some 18inch 'dark smoke' grey mags would look real-nice Hope you are enjoying the Stagea.

Whats The Damage So Far? & Where Does It End?

hahaha well finally tomorrow is the big day, going to drive 5mins down the road to a top blokes place, and fit: Slide 250rwkw @ 1bar highflow turbo Penrite 5mm unrestricted oil feed line Davies Craig automatic transmission oil cooler upgrade kit Maltech front and rear braided brake lines DBA slotted front brake rotors Bendix front and rear heavy duty and advanced brake pads Castrol brake fluid Penrite 10w50 fpr10 oil Ryco Z145A oil filter and Z200 fuel filter GB oil sump plug valve drain Aerospeed adjustable exhaust cam gear wheel - perhaps....... dependant upon time, Im not that fussd about it. Could get it fitted on the day of the dynotune. Will alos get the Whiteline front castor kit fitted when I grab a 4wheel alignment. Hope to get these jobs done around New Years. So will keep it to around 10psi (will try 12, lol, and see where R&R hits) until the retune of the safc/sitc hopefully over new years. Monday job - $400 incl oil line, I supplied all parts. Cant wait. Suspn job - $250? Retune - $450? So yeah a 29grand car, totally sorted. Maybe 18's one day (sell 17s) and outside detail etc to tidy her right up, and that'd to take it to 30k. Im happy. But that'd be it. -
lol; played with both of you, as you well know I dont know WHY, but for some reason I really like BF2. Its a challenging game, and I havent been much of a gamer since my teens a decade ago. MajorTangles reporting for duty

Glad you are happy Ceff11e - mate I cant wait until monday and the install for my Slide turbo. cant wait wont tune it till new years tho. -
sounds great ! my thoughts are, with the safc, if you are going to retune it for more power; a) either tune for more power say at 13psi and pick up that 10+awkw, perhaps using a good EBC, or b) tune it once so supply the good EBC, a good FMIC and a Z32 afm and do it all at one, hell maybe even a bosch 040 fuel pump. just that with the safc, if you add a fmic on right now your tune gets a bit outa whack - I noticed this with an aibox mod and also with the fmic install I did. ebay and it was cheap. with the safc if you add bits and pieces here and there it puts the tune outa whack, etc. she'll be right, all in good time hey.
-
yeah itd hit R&R (not boost cut) - but thats what your safc is for. plsu maybe a z32 afm sometime down the track. with a front mount and a tune at 1bar youd see good results.
