yeah, my pleasure! and as you say, 260+rwkw on low boost, LOL I can definately confirm then that auto + Pfc will work fine. Thing is peoples, youd have to treat the auto to some "maintenance" sometime down the track, just exactly like you need to replace clutches in the manuals every few years..........
-
Was just in Darrens (dangerman4) 4door R33 auto with Pfc, with auto valve body shift kit. For sure, a Pfc in a auto with shift kit, it certainly works. Changes are fine, and with his fatarsed turbo & engine work, it pulls damned well. Loads of power and an auto that is fine for a daily city-traffic driver. Now it really makes me wonder about my next tune....! Keep with the piggybacks, or replace with Pfc, injectors and definately the MV Auto shift kit (this would be a must with a auto / Pfc combo), spend a 'little' extra and have a beast ofa Stagea - or not. Sweet!
-
yeah, same as me - interesting to see your power output of 230rwkw, that'll be alarmingly equivelant to the approx. 200kw at the 4 wheel figure I expect after the next tune for my awd Stagea. Very similar mods too to the rb25det by the way
-
yeah thats what I thought. but then again it is only a 2.0ltr engine. maybe get a compression test performed on the engine, and check things out with a few dyno runs. maybe look into installing a set of cams, as previously suggested, and then a retune wouldnt go astray.

Post A Pic Of Your Stagea Thread

Yeah looks great Daniel, will have to catch up soon and have a look-see. Tell em about your power output, then they'll be jealous. -
Hey lads. see: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...131723&st=0 Thats the info for Aarons Sliding Performance highflow turbochargers, with prices on the 1st page. Although you must check the availability tho, he's a busy man. I supplied a shagged R33 turbo to be highlfowed (thanks Bunta), and I had a shagged R32 turbo on hand too (was an ebay highflowed VG30 turbo, LOL, not - I got jipped). Aaron gave me a decent deal for the supply of 2 turbos, the R33 for the highflow and the R32 simply for his stock. Brendan hhhhmmmmm Boost is so so sweet, I wanna turn it up some more!

Turbo, a R33 bush bearing highflow, from Sliding Performance - from Aaron (Slide) here on the forums. Great bargain IMO.

My S1 '97 stagea was ok but lively with spirited driving, not confidence-giving thats for sure, with the stnd suspn and stnd mags/tyres. It would have been a boat around a track. When the Bilstein shocks with lowering circlips went on using stnd springs, with whiteline bushes and swaybars, and 17s with good tyres, driving in all conditions became a pleasure. The handling is sublime, either in stop/start traffic or fullpaced twisties.... AWD and turbo are the 2 features that mAdE me buy a Stagea. A 200kw at the 4wheels wagon, that really handles, pulls hard, stops and all that, thats quirky and semi-rare, all for under 30gs (obviously modded a "fair" bit), Im the one doing the smiling Im assuming the Attessa system will let me use the 200kw very well when pushing thru a Hills corner. At least I'll feel safe enough to pull the steering wheel as hard as necessary, safely, without worrying about the backend snapping out, or the front end drifting and tailing offline.

LOL - classic.... better find out about insurance tho ! Id hate to wipe a lambo into a track wall, and be held accountable for costs. -

Nice. Although for 15-28k per year, Id rather put that into property or some other form of 'potential' wealth making investment - but thats my personal "Bi-Lo / Home brand" style of thought. Lets say a decade worth of investing, and you could perhaps buy one of the mentioned cars, and depending on how the investment went, maybe even a near-city unit with a secure garage too !! edit : then again the target market would obviously have some disposable readie$ to afford to "hire" nice cars for the year -
another Yoda comment gotta love Yoda, you big green furry ball of cuddles you ............ comes down to the driving style IMO. ie high rpm launches etc at the end of the day tho, as the ladies say "once you try Black you never go back" - for me the same goes for AWD. Love it, certainly round those bends.
-
Nice effort Alex. Loving the S1.5 youve got there mate. Yeah my mech mate Ryan who did my turbo last week has done a few MV shift kits, like you mentioned the fluids goes everywhere when opening it up for the first time - hope you didnt catch tooo much of it in ya hair! I was going to dismiss the MV valve body upgrade and not be bothered, but this thread may have changed my thoughts. Meh, oil cooler and filter relocation kit is next job on the cards, then perhaps the shift kit. edit: wow - no "flare" of the rpm when WOT. nice.
-
lol, does that mean my Stagea is a supercar too? well, it is too me anyway! This is my 1st 4wd car, had rwd cars and bikes and fwd cars, but I dont think Id ever go back. The awd attessa traction is fantastic - pity my car is so heavy tho (oops, soz thats the driver not the car!)
-
hhmm ? Whats this? Are you a customs agent? lol Its not up to the customer to track & wave down customs saying "I need to declare this and pay you $600 for the pleasure of doing so"..... AFAIK it is up to Customs to approach you with proof that you have bought something that requires a tax / duty payment. Been though it many times myself, sometimes they will pick it up and contact you about payment, othertimes you simply receive the goods. BTW - never once have I asked the sender to falsify the value amount........ doesnt mean it doesnt happen tho

loving the turbo for sure need to save for an oil cooler kit and a 3hr tune. Safc settings, on hi-throttle are: 1000 rpm + 21% 1600 rpm + 29% 2200 rpm + 44% 2800 rpm + 46% 3400 rpm + 49% 4000 rpm + 49% 4600 rpm + 46% 5200 rpm + 36% 5800 rpm + 38% 6400 rpm + 35% 7000 rpm + 35% 7600 rpm + 35% Safc settings, on lo-throttle are: 1000 rpm + 1% 1600 rpm + 21% 2200 rpm + 26% 2800 rpm + 31% 3400 rpm + 42% 4000 rpm + 44% 4600 rpm + 46% 5200 rpm + 47% 5800 rpm + 45% 6400 rpm + 44% 7000 rpm + 42% 7600 rpm + 42% Th-point settings are: Lo 19% Hi 20% Hope that helps ? Meh, good for my future refence anyway. "Tangles safc settings" will be my search

Until its totally proven, no way am I puting a Pfc on my auto box. I cant afford the 3-4k gearbox rebuild (sure perhaps in 5yrs time, but rebuild nonetheless) dangerman4 - are you seriously suggesting that in 3,4,5yrs time youd be "surprised" if (or dare I say, when) the auto box goes bang?? I dont see how it can withstand your 300kw power figure for years on end without that ign.retard on gear changes. meh.... Id like to run a Pfc as a piggyback option, but wouldnt know how to wire it up, so I wont
-
Umm, by memory boost didnt trail off for my Stagea (using a dual stage Hybrid EBC) .... although I never had much time over 5000rpm (never saw the point), however the RPM rise thru to redline was reasonably fast. Now with the highflow turbo on (untuned) I still havent noticed any boost drop but I have noticed that the RPM ramps up from 4000 - past 6500 very very quickly. fun cheers mate, will post up the safc specs asap
-
Look, I successfully use an Apexi SAFCII and an Apexi SITC, running as piggybacks to the ECU, in my automatic 4wd RB25det. Standard turbo at 12psi pushed 160awkw. I now have a highflow turbo that was just installed last week, and I expect (once tuned) a lazy 200awkw at 1bar without too much of a problem. Off boost economy is fine, on boost it sucks the fuel, obviously. Has ANYONE run a PowerFc as a Piggyback unit in an auto Skyline? That'd be the way to go, IMO.
-
Nah, thats the settings from the 160awkw @ 12psi tune on the standard turbo. Only changed to the highflow mid last week, and wont be getting a tune for another month at least.
-
LOL just what mother used to say out of a matter of interest, say you did pop the fuse only and drive it into the ground, I think youd find a VERY expensive repair bill at the end of it. Same expense as rebuilding the engine................... I know what Id rather do
-
haha! I never wanted engraving cheers mate. looking forward to putting it on.
-
LOL @ Deluxe Not a case of "missing" boost, but with the highflow installed last week, and the all important extension of my seat rails - cheers Pete, Im loving this "new and improved" boost! hahaha sad but true, highflows are just so suited to Stageas. hell, Im even experiencing loss of AWD traction now thats a first for me. hoped the rebuilt '33 goes well, good luck with the runin
-
Nice info there. As a comparison, thought Id check my figures. On the SITC I have 800rpm = 0 2,400rpm = +1 4,000rpm = +3 5,600rpm = +4 7,200 rpm = +4 very very different to the other settings mentioned. How do I get my safc settings? Played with it a little but not sure what Im doing just monitor 4channel, and use throttle to see the different rpm figures?

Sliding Performance Hiflow Picks And Installationon Rb20det
Tangles replied to CEF11E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Lol, backyard mech and me having fun all at mates rates, you know how it is. little space to move and ran into a few obstacles too. but everything is perfect and thats the way it should be. including a service and change of most fluids, turbo install, and brakes arranged for another day, cost me bugga all. thats what I like about it -
Cheers Gary, thanks for the info. Definately getting an oil cooler kit and a perhaps an oil pressure gauge. Yeah, last 5mins of the drive = no positive boost pressure; got to teach the wife now
