D....de..def...defected (ho Ho Merry Christmas)
Tangles replied to Bl4cK32's topic in South Australia
the rb25 afm Pete has was mine, series 2. maybe he should intsall it onto his Rb20det, as per original plans, and you borrow his rb20 afm? bad luck about the defect, that sucks for sure. -
lol - I recently had the drivers seat rail extended by 1.5inches...... now there is no room for anyone to sit behind me. Funny. But yeah, I love your Stag too.

LOL.... umm, perhaps the day when religion was invented!?!
-
lol @ flamage Never forget my friend that "sticks & stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" So yes violence could very well hurt, but words never should. Dont let it get to you. Umm, Im extremely anti-religious. Extremely isnt even the right word for it. I consider religion to be the bearer of ALL evil. BEARER OF ALL EVIL = RELIGION. There, its written & therefore it must be truth. LOL Therefore by my own reckoning I consider all religion to be wank. Meh; so what. Its a word - does that seriously hurt and distress you? Far too many humans (billions) have died by the hands of religion.... its an evil curse that we as a woldwide society need to move on from. Religion may have been beneficial for Neanderthals (I dont see how - sacrificing one of your own to make a successful hunt doesnt seem smart to me) and Mongols etc, but I thought the human of today generally had more 'smarts' than that. I love religious debates
-
meh, religion is all wank. wake up to yourselves. If you MUST follow a religion, perhaps look into Budism - seems the only 'natural' religion to me (ie peace and tranquility to all things). If I was to choose a religion Id follow Buddah. But Im not a sheep and have a free mind, so I hereby denounce all religions as 'wank'. . Let the flamage begin

Ummm, it doesnt seem completely normal to me. I dont believe my Stagea (S1 , Jan 97) suffers from what you desribe. Doesnt wander, doesnt track offcentre, and I still havent had a wheel alignment done to it yet. Mods: Bilstein shocks, standard springs, 360mm ride height all round (centre of wheel to arch), 17inch R34 GTT wheels with 235/45 tyres, and Whiteline 'pineapples'. Whiteline front caster kit not yet fitted. Im honestly very happy with the handling, I mean its no Lambo but for what the Stagea is its great - as we all well know. Albeit Im a careful driver, I havent come across your described problem in my car (have with a Pulsar N15 hatch tho!!! long story....) It'll be wear & tear on a particlar item I guess. Has you car got signs of accident damage? Have you replaced all the undercarrage bushes, etc? What condition are your tyres in? Is your current suspension old/new, installed properly? etc etc...... power steeing fluid/lines, steering rack, plenty of things to go thru. Id had enough of the mucking around with our kittedout N15 hatch, that was a nightmare in regards to wandering characteristics and we never got it properly sorted in the end. Oh, and the 3 clutches in 20thou kms! Was in Hot 4s tho on the backpage, so that was good for a laugh. Best of luck with it, would be good to get different opinions from different workshops perhaps, time permitting. Maybe take out the hicas and put in the lock bar? Cant be of much help tho, sorry.

Good work Darren, Im glad to hear that Mike has confirmed that the internals of the box were still in great nick. The drive on Monday showed me that the shifts, with a shift kit + Pfc, were absolutely fine. There is definately a fair bit of Miss Information out there in regards to autos / Pfc / shiftkit combo's. In fact, after that little drive, Ive started looking for a Pfc, lol. Dont have the ca$h for one, but the homeloan wouldnt mind, Im sure Would like to take you up on that valve body offer too........ I dont know whos it was, but Im damned sure itd take a huge effort to get off a defect, was visibly highly modified. Loved the camber of the rear wheels !! lol / / \ \ I think I saw a ns.com sticker....... Its plain wrong - why harrass a driver who hasnt done anything wrong? Looked like a safe car, surely they coulda pulled over the clapped out rusted red 70s mazda323 that was in the vicinity. Might start keeping tampons in the car, in case of "bleeding"

If I do change the muffler, Im thinking of this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...3170&rd=1,1 Could take up to two months tho for delivery.... but still, for $120usd it aint that bad value I guess, being of 3inch internal straight through design, centre to centre. I dunno, if I add it on after the tune then the settings on the piggybacks will be out, slightly. Meh, will wait until Im off work and decide then whether Im paying this months morgage or not !! Cheers all.

Should Bass Junky Change The Colour Of His Car...
Tangles replied to Bass Junky's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Nice - no cost, then go for Silky Snow Pearl White looks grey or white or electric blue depending on the sun (bright or dull makes a huge difference) -

Should Bass Junky Change The Colour Of His Car...
Tangles replied to Bass Junky's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Q: does it need a full respray ? looks fine as is, pearl is always a feature. jade doesnt appeal to me personally, and z-tune silver looks same as is now (lol, Im sure there is a difference but I cant see it). go pearl silver. -
Hhm, saw a beaut gold 200sx S14 on South Road this morning at Mitsies.... then an Arse Bandit floored up along side me, pulled in front of me in behind the 200sx with no gap there for him (city traffic) and no indication, wanker. Him and his mate wernt looking at the road, soley the sweet gold nissan, they flashed their lights and pulled over the 200sx, with another arse bandit following me for a while (hahahah mate, its a Volvo!). The 200sx was definately set up for drift, big time. Mate, whoever you are, bad luck. With that highly mod'd 200sx I bet my balls you got reamed big time. Did the arse bandits supply lube and a towel to clean up afterwards?

Well I drove to work today, 1st time since right kneecap removed. Sore. Dont know how Id be able to drive a long distance - was hoping to take the family away for 2 nights to Robe or somewhere else on the Limestone Coast in SA........... to afford that and a retune I was planning on not paying the morgage this month Have a safe holiday all.
-
Knee is sore Thats life, cheers tho Found a Magnaflow centre to centre 7" round polished stainless steel 3inch straight thru muffler, sells for $160USD found it for $120USD delivered to Australia (7 week wait!). Will let it go for a while, for another day. Cheers for the advice
-
Hhhmmmm - food for thought, cheers for the opinions. Looks like then I'll search for a oval muffler of some description, 3inch in / out and internals. Current setup is very quiet... 3inch dump, 3inch highflow cat, 3inch pipe to a welded-on section (looks like a resonator perhaps?), which connects straight to the current muffler. Being so quiet means to me that it must be a restriction.
-
Never been in a car accident, but sounds like a decent project. Best of luck with it.
-
Yeah I dont want an awful drone, but yet want least restriction as possible. I guess the hunt begins! Im thinking the current muffler must be decent flowing for me to achieve 160awkw @ 12psi on stnd turbo, but things can always be improved upon Probably something I'll have to leave (budget restraints) until mid-year 2007, when I may switch to a stand alone full ECU replacement. (although a cheapie $80 3" cannon muffler with welded on adapter flanges might just happen - if I dont like the sound it can easily be replaced with the current muffler)
-
Im interested in regards to how 'well' they work with auto RB25det's........
-
why do you require an intercooler that is SO thick? anyways, good luck with the project.
-
Id only be staying the night if I could get a cabin for my family of 4, unfortunately. Dont have an easy2assemble 4berth tent or airbeds etc....... Id mainly be in it for the cruise, and to say gday and all that. Otherwise a cruise, drinks, eats, etc and then a solo drive back home might be on the cards for my family. I voted Normanville - beaut place. Some nice roads around there too, generally "enforcement-free" too. edit: unless I leave the wife and kids at home and sleep-over in the Stagea =)
-
Im thinking buy 3 x 3inch exhaust flanges Weld one to the cat-back system one to a new 3inch straight thru muffler, and one to the current S-shaped restrictive (ie it is VERY quiet) internal muffler. That way I could bolt on the muffler to suit my mood and noise tolerance Thinking of this sort of thing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-INLET-UNI...057837141QQrdZ1 Dunno, not a huge concern I guess. But there is no doubt that my current muffler would be a restriction, and by changing it I reckon I could net a couple of kws.
-
Thanks for the super-quick reply to PM Pete, appreciated. Yeah you are right, black and black, LOL My bad. All the best matey, cant wait until father (pete) xmas arrives!
-
Cheers Luke, Got a straight 3inch dump pipe, not split, and wont be upgrading that particular part. This is something I want to quickly do at home with the donkey-leg (ie jack up car, unbolt from cat, cut, weld, rebolt up) and on a $100 budget. But yeah, a 3inch muffler might be the way to go. Hence my query about the cannon style mufflers, whatever I go for I want 3 inch internals I guess - thats if I change it at all. Currently toying with buying a PowerFc, auto valve body and 500cc injectors when the bike sells, and flogging off the tuned safc/sitc piggybacks.......................... no hurry for that I guess, but if Im doing a retune (and I need to) to the piggybacks then I figured I might as well have a free-flowing exhaust. Thanks for the info re- cooling exhaust gasses. No, I havent bought HPI since issue 30-odd (very repetitive).
-
Ok, With a list of mods, I had 160awkw at 12psi with standard turbo, but am now running the highflow turbo..... R&R cuts in at 1bar but at 13.5psi the car seems very quick.... with a tune I expect close to 200awkw. I say close, as my muffler seems quite restrictive. 3inches from turbo back, including cat, to the muffler where it goes into 2inch and inside the muffler would be a S-type setup. So, the exhaust gasses dont flow out the exit all that well. Im thinking about adding a $100 cannon muffler. 3inch inlet and outlet and 4inch barrel. Cut the current muffler off and weld on a cannon. Im sure this could weild a lazy 5awkw or more. I want a tune done over the xmas break so I need to take action now, if Im going to change the muffler. (lol at tune, currently used half a tank for 130kms!) Those with cannon mufflers, how loud can they be when the foot is mashed against the accelerator? Do they make a horrible drone sound? Should I be looking for a brand name from Japan, or a cheapie no-name unit? Any tips, tricks or ideas are welcome. Brendan
