  1. lots of youtube videos on how to setup the AVCR and tune it yes, it needs to be tuned to run correctly with all the features such as gearjudge etc
  2. needs better offset
  3. yeah the 4.8 was with brand new pzero's 255s some basic pineapple diff cradle work and an aggressive tune it's all in the launch and getting off the line, the rest is easy. 0 to 100kmh in a gtst is 1 gear change so it's pretty easy my car def wouldnt be that quick now, its got 225,000 on the clock - i think it had around 100,000 when i got 4.8
  4. whats does the STI do 0 to 100 in? i can do 0 to 100 in 4.8 in my gtst with 190rwkw
  5. back to work tomorrow what a spew eh
  6. grant - not good mate, what happened hows the triple plate clutch coming along
  7. find the wiring diagram for the ecu in your car and check it the main things to look for would be the ECCS relay to make the engine shut off, check how that is wired in etc
  8. looks liek a good cruise gang yah that r31 is nice, i saw it about 3 years ago i think on the same GOR cruise plenty of good hardware in it
  9. any progress pretty please?
  10. sorry to hear juliette hope its something simple, if there is no grinding, no chucks of cogs etc surely its something simple on a good note all our plastering is done, finito! rangehood ready to go back in, all roof panels fixed (were sagging) and holes fixed up tomrorow sanding mission and then undercoat and done wooohooo
  11. moved from tutorial / howto
  12. you use the fuel and inj correction maps to tune the car. its only if you find you can't get the results you want or run out of correction where you adjust the base map
  13. check the state of the tune view ETC, SENSOR SW CHECK for anything out of the ordinary check how the powerfc is plugged into the harness - is it secured in the plug correctly? open the powerfc - does it smell burnt ? any visible damage ?
  14. issues only occurs with powerfc and apexi rsm when the problem occurs the hicas light flashes on as well the a-lsd is not related to my rpm needle going spazzo ie if i replicate the needle going spazzo active lsd is fine and it doesn't fail when you say pin 5 and pin 7 - what are you referring to ?
  15. it wont be alternator or cas or anything random like that it will be whatever is tapped onto the RPM wire so piggybacks, other systems etc in my case with the exact symptoms you had, was the RSM was being random it could be the RPM wire (like in yours) is either damaged, mangled, a botched RPM hack previously etc we both have a powerfc, active lsd, series 2 GTST and the same problem, RPM need goes spazzo between 0 and real RPM
  16. have to clean out the garage and cannot be assed bah hum bug
  17. this is from the apexi documentation there is no need to find a default rb26 djetro map, as it the powerfc comes with one if it's second hand, perform a DATA INIT before using it and the default maps are loaded. if its new it already has the default maps
  18. the problem with using a manual ecu on an auto car (ie PowerFC on auto skyline) is that when the autbox changes gears the ECU doesn't know so the timing doesnt change during gearchange. on the auto ecu the timing is dropped during gearchange to let the auto box change gracefully. with the manual ECU the timing stays the same and the box suffers stress from a fully loaded engine during gearchange. now this gotcha only applies to nissan's as toyota powerfc exists in auto, at least for the chaser the JZX100 powerfc to suit chaser comes in auto and it has lots of logic and suppport for the AT gearbox you can even change the mapping when it changes it gears in the menus and edit the gear splits (f**ken ace). this from my understanding is because the toyota has its gearbox logic inside the main ecu, where as nissan is in another computer apexi either didnt care about the auto box (lets face it, auto skyline isnt common) and either couldnt be bothered, didnt see $ in it or wasnt enough demand, or too complex?
  19. i have this issue apexi powerfc active lsd apexi rsm series 2 GTST when driving the RPM needle goes from where it is ie 5400 rpm and then instantly flicks to 0 rpm and then back again it keeps doing it in a loop. i eventually found the apexi RSM has a REV0 output for a relay switch and it was set to 5700rpm so when my car went to 5700rpm the needle went spazzo, as soon as you went under, it was OK the fix was i set the apexi RSM REV0 output to 10000rpm and the problem went away. it might not be the same issue, but the same symtom i found in my car active lsd and powerfc has a known compatability issue. have you applied the a-lsd fix for the powerfc? if not, your active lsd will always fail and not work properly (A-LSD light on dash comes on randomly), the fix is the PFC FAQ in my sig
  20. check how the cars immobiliser / alarm is setup
  21. get a piggyback or standalone, run 12psi and youll make more average power everywhere, get better fuel economy and it will overall be heaps quicker you'll need a bigger intercooler as well
  22. yep it's just a tickbox, no magic, no password but sure to note, there are some things that are not restored when a tune is unlocked be careful if this car has injectors that are non-std, and other key non std items such as AFM or map sensor datalogit has some bugs where it mangles up the values sometimes when a tune is unlocked i dont know why it does it, it just does its a bug with datalogit.
  23. http://www.hoax-slayer.com/hiv-needle-hoax.html but i know of a guy i used to work with, he lives in st kilda he opened his mailbox to find a needle in there and he pricked himself he was ok after tests, but still not pretty and very scary for him
  24. as stated, get the spring rated closest to the pressure you want to run i dont know why GCG do that, go and ask them ? logic says it comes in as a normal turbo, they hiflow it and it's done, if you want a higher rated spring you ask for it and they charge extra
