  9. yeah thanks guys, im not interested in doing it to make the car legal or not if i get dicked for noise / exhaust then the ECV wont help or change much im mainly looking at it to shut the car up sometimes
  10. sweet thanks how much was it to install? how do you find the controller (are u using the elctornic one?) how long does it take to go from say 3/4 closed to 100% open when its 3/4 closed how quiet is the car vs full open? how does the car drive with it on 3/4 - is it reasonable?
  11. from memory it doesnt let you close it %100 and i dont think the backpreussre would actualy let you close it while running
  12. nah if i get it, will get it with the electronic controller instead of the manual one would love to hear from someone who has one installed

  14. i would like to be able to shut up my exhaust occasionally interested in hearing your feedback on one of these im looking for a 2nd hand apexi decs / ecv anyone used one of these or know one for sale?
  15. nah like i mean, has the fuel been sittign in the tank for 3 months and now you are trying to thrash the pants off thats common when someone does an engine swap, normal 98 penis fuel should be fine get a consult cable and software, best $100 youll spend search on sau vic under for sale for "consult" a guy newkleer makes them its a cable and software you plug into the cars consult port (right hand side, underneat steering wheel area) it gives you full ecu diagnostics and reads out along with all the sensors nissan dealsers use the same thing, but they use a phyiscal device this is a software emulated copy - works great and on most nissans too
  16. start with basic troubleshooting given youve done an engine swap there could be a hundred things wrong check basic boost control - does it work, does actuator open, check boost pressure check fuel control, is it stable and does fuel reg work correctly does the engine miss or gurgle on idle does the engine blow any smoke etc what does ECU diag with consult tell you? do all sensors check out OK in consult diag? have you checked afm? have you checked 02 sensor? how old is the fuel you are using? how is boost control regulated? are you using a boost controller that is working? what ecu are you using? if stock, stay under 9psi, otherwise ECU will activate its rich and retard protection (ie: boost cut) - fix is remap, or piggyback, or less boost or stand alone ecu
  17. well if boost is coming on at 5 grand theres a few obvious issues 1) how is the tune? 2) what size turbocharger housing? its obviously too big 3) displacement vs power output - ie your trrying to make too much from a small engine diff gears will help but i would look at what size rear housing you have if you can change both, that would make a massive difference dont bother with antilag, its not a street friendly, use daily solution
  18. when i was looking i had similar style scenarios where you wonder if your bid even gets to the house seller buyer: yeah im keen, my offer is $200,000, 30 days settlement, blah blah agent: yeah ill find out and get back to you (1.5 days of nothing, dont even speak to house seller) agent: nah they are goign to wait or agent: nah they want 205,000 buyer: ok 206,000 agent: ok ill find out agent: hey seller i got 206, will u take it seller: oh its first offer, thats good, lets take it so you never quite know if your bid even gets through i suspect they mask the first few bids into lala land (like you have seen) and then on your 3rd up-bid they pass it on and sell sell sell
  19. speak to sarah if you want, she will know, or her dad will 1) i would expect, the person selling the house, can pull the plug at any time, but im sure there would be some break out fee, or cancellation fee as she is pulling the plug 2) there would be a channel for reporting tihs for sure 3) it would be between yourself, and her, via your solictor 4) just check the contract of sale terms, your solictor would be able to advise on this also
  20. the us market is mangled and getting worse the UK is printing money and has 0.5% interest loans!!!
  21. so what does it mean for you? what are you seeing in your workplace? do you know any friends directly affected? got any tips to help a brother out? with the pending stimulus package knocking on our door what are your plans to spend it on? its going to get worse but its pretty bad now try not to take it all too seriously and be safe dont forget to have fun and enjoy things even though they are bad
  22. vic sucks.
  23. mythbusters ahoy! this thread is full of myths and assumptions with no facts there is no logical way that upgrading the coils to splitfires would affect fuel econonmy that drastically i suggest there is something fundamentally wrong, for it to go from 500kms a tank to 100kms a tank go see a mechanic - it doesnt add up
  24. yeah ill head past united kings way today check if they do have e85
