  1. there are no front wheel drive R32,R33,R34 skylines R32 - 1989 to 1994 (1992 onwards is GTR only) BNR32 - 2.6 lite twin turbo, all wheel drive, GTR - manual 5 speed only HR32 - 2.0 litre single turbo, rear wheel drive, GTST - auto and manual 5 speed (boot sticker will say GTS-T) HCR32 - 2.0 litre single turbo, all wheel drive, GTS4 (i think its HCR32) - auto and manual 5 speed R33 - 1993 to 1998 BCNR33 - 2.6 litre twin turbo, all wheel drive, GTR - manual 5 speed only ECR33 - 2.5 litre single turbo, rear wheel drive, GTST - auto and manual 5 speed (boot sticker will say GST25T) ENR33 - 2.5 litre non turbo, all wheel drive, GTS4 - auto and manual 5 speed R34 (1999 to 2002) - 1999 onwards is GTR only BNR34 - 2.6 litre twin turbo, all wheel drive, GTR - manual 6 speed only ER34 - 2.5 litre single turbo, rear wheel drive, GTST - auto (tiptronic) and manual 5 speed ENR34 - 2.5 litre non turbo, all wheel drive, GTS4 - auto (tiptronic) and manual 5 speed
  2. hi, you should go with whatever ECU option is locally supported, find out what tuners are near you and find out what they use you would be mad to fit an ECU that on-one locally can tune for you, cos then you are stuck with an ECU that can't be tuned or fixed later so if you have a local guy who can remap and he is reliabable then this might be your best bet, just make sure you have a dyno and a good tuner

  4. 1) find a new mechanic 2) dont buy cheap ebay 15BHP hacks - they are all a load of shit 3) check the wiring in the engine bay, the hack would have been applied to the AFM signal wire, check it the afm signal could be shorting out, unplug it, when its unplugged the RPM should cap out at 2500rpm but it should start and idle ok with the AFM unplugged check the water temp sensor, if he was fidding with that and fried something the car wont start with a damaged water temp sensor, again just unplug and see if it starts the water temp sensor is on the radiator pipe going towards the engine, theres two plugs, you can unplug both to test it easily 4) check all other fuses and sensors that you can see, fuses are in the engine bay, in the boot, and on the right side of the steering column 5) run stock ecu diag 6) take it to another work shop if all else fails

  9. for those interested or at least wondering to apply for ASIO/AFP - no one must know of your application or intention to apply for a role - you must be clear of a criminal record - you must be an australian citizen - your friends and family will be checked by AFP/ASIO, including police records, financial records, centrelink history etc - full employment history checks, credit checks, banking and financial records, education checks etc. basically they want to rule you out as a liable suspect for blackmail. this is, if say ive applied for ASIO and was caught in 1995 trafficking drugs then it makes a liable suspect for blackmail any dude who knows i was caught can use this information against me to "get info" out of me regarding ASIO/AFP and so on. and you need to get secet level or security level clearance so it will check your personal life too, including girlfriends, partners etc. this is becuause they can use it against you in blackmail etc. they even ask things such as have you had anal sex in the past etc. in case you were wondering....

  11. there's some ASIO roles going if you want to move to canberra i'd love to work for ASIO but canberra can suck my nuts besides if you diclose you want to work for ASIO your basically void from any role as this makes you a liable target for any blackmail / sabotage
  12. haha one of our tech's in the testing phase on the EMC failed over the powerpath device to a non-existant path so the storage failed from underneath the vmotion host, the box kernel panic'd hard core and wasn't happy but vmotion took care of it and failed it over correctly

  14. haha no worries before i left the guys were on the border line of deploying a dual cluster vmware ESX we had a sun blade 8000 series blade box with two blades, we were one of the first in AU to have the quad cpu dual core 3ghz opteron blades we were going to use that for oracle 11. 8 way cpu, and oracle only charge you for 4 cores = awesome ++ 32GB of ram yeah vmware is pretty cool - it was going to clear up heaps of shit for us two blades, seperate ESX cluster manager 1RU server and its all good we had the vmware blades booting off our EMC array too, so the boxes couldnt fail/disappear under any circumstances we tested vmotion failover and its about 30ms between cluster changover, very fast and realtime, most applications dont even realise

  18. haha well no, if you really wanted to find out who I was etc you could look in several places you could ring my old work and say your from XYZ data protection and who was the recent IT manager (reception would probably give it out) you could search on the SAU site for who was on the committe to find out my full name, from there a quick yellow pages search would only show one of my surname and so on...

  20. There's no need to do that - I would rather people know my identify and possibility of a role to be found. Besides, anything can be found out about a person, you just gotta know how to use the right tools and where to look

  23. reset the stock ecu and try again a search will tell you how to reset it
