  1. powerfc wins most times, cheapest, easier, quickest to setup, lots of tuners, good features out of the box theres quiet a few on ebay these days, average price is around $1250 ish so its reasonable
  2. dont know but when you find the answer please let me know, ill add to the pfc faq
  3. hi, you want to use a 4cly, 4 injector driver ECU to suit SR20 controls and mappings on a 6 cyl, 6 injector rb20? if it can be done, it will be a massive pain in the ass, and youll have to piggyback 2 cylinders and 2 injectors not worth it imho, get the correct ecu rb26 pfc on rb20/rb25 is easy as its the same logic, cylinders, injectors, ignition driver, sensors etc
  4. drive it around, and load it up if its slips continously then its toast if it was just a once off it might be ok
  5. ah well fix it yourself eh we've tried
  6. no the wastegate is purely designed to reduce backpressure in the exhaust manfiold its not meant to make all the gas flow through it, otherwise the exhaust wheel would slow down and loose speed, thus loosing boost pressure so when the gate opens, the exhaust wheel should stop increasing speed (ie: boost should stop climbing and stay even) and all things run happily if the exhaust wheel keeeps increasing in speed, boost climbs, so its possible the exhaust manifold has tons of pressure built up and stuck inside it which drives the exhaust wheel faster and faster, much like ":unlimited boost:". why did you choose 44mm
  7. on your dyno plot get ray to plot manifold pressure if you can youll probably see its ramping off its ass if the exhaust is very restrictive does the power / torque plummet after aroudn 4 grand?
  8. denham! - you're alive whats kickin
  9. do a careful dyno plot with the wastegate disconnected, the vac line this will mean unlimited boost (almost like how it is now) so dont trash it on the street, dyno only a great way to kill your engine is by stuffing around with the boost on a fresh new engine if you get the same result, either the vac signal to the gate is incorrect or the gate isnt working correctly how much boost do you want to run ?
  10. ah so it is a GTST, cos i heard it come past once when i was out walking and it didnt sound like a GTR, very obvious GTST turbo whilste then i saw the plates and was like what the... ?
  11. wow it must be good if you only want $30 for it
  12. ebay look for autobahn 88 - they are the supplier http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SILICON-INTAKE-PIPE...1QQcmdZViewItem theres heaps on ebay or i think there is even group buys, just make sure its a legit autobahn 88 unit and not a mock up
  13. hi patrick you can do a search on the word hi-flow or "highflow" to learn about them and the changes they make to them to get more flow out of them. the main differnces between the rb20 and rb25 hiflow would be larger housing and compressor wheels (and housing) and new bearings/core. the unit would flow more air and give more power etc etc. a lot of guys use the std rb25 turbo on the rb20, so using a hiflowed rb25 turbo on the rb20 is even better there are quiet a few ECU options for the rb20 but not many plug and play options, the main true plug and play unit is the apexi powerfc it will be around $1800 for you with a hand controller as the unit isnt made anymore. its a direct plug and play , first key start unit however and lots of tuners can tune it
  14. added new external resources section
  15. im in - let me know your plans pm me your mobile number or something if you like
  16. GTRTZR in gladstone park (i think its a GTST as well)
  17. i think he means the intake ducting, like the apexi power intake ducting and not a plenum
  18. hi daniel have a read of the powerfc faq (in my sig) it covers many idle related issues the correct way to fix is to probably clear the tune and reset it, and redo the idle learn proceudre this will erase the tune so make sure that someone with datalogit copies it for you first
  19. dangerman4 is spot on the money, at 4700rpm where your manifold pressure skyrockets off the chart you can see your torque dips way out and the linear curve of power pans out to a gradual climb instead of a fast ramp upwards. its like the engine cant breathe enough, or its being chocked. so look at the wastegate setup and runners etc on the manifold
  20. i believe you have spoken to Roy already, cams for the rb20 = waste
  21. haha yeah its like the "its your ABC..." logo
  22. i wouldnt bother with cams and cam gears, for the cost vs gain just set it up and tune the pants off it (or pay someone to) theres lots of response and power tucked away in the std maps
  23. i agree, it sounds like you have poo IGN timing check the cam gear, its probably come loose and retarded itself
  24. meeting info is here; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ge...ay-t214145.html
