  1. sounds intersting - since the death of the NEC main processor curious what chip it runs happy to sign up as a tester
  2. this along with almost any question you can think of are covered in the PFC FAQ spend about 30 minutes and read the first few topics, it will give you a feel for the unit and clear up the common concerns and questions
  3. how much $ do you have what do you want out of the car what mods do you currently have
  4. the hand controller wont read boost from the stock map sensor as its in a different range / reading to have the hand controller display BOOST correctly you need part of the boost control kit loom and the map sensor the parts are around $200 in total and takes about 5 minutes to install you need the boost control kit loom (3 pin version pretty sure) and the denso map sensor
  5. undo all of the intercooler piping and check for bits and debris also remove the intercooler and shake it around to clear any loose bits check all the way upto the throttle body we saw an r33 smash its compressor wheel and there were bits mashed up against the throttle body
  6. speak to RCHOO (pm if you like) he has blown two auto rb25det boxes maybe he can shed some insight on the cause of failure might be some helpful info too, he was getting one of them rebuilt too

  8. theres quiet a few in the for sale section i found at least 3 or 4 tonight and theres several on ebay the rarity i think is a bit of a flip flop, ive always been able to find one usually they are around $1100 these days, i see no need to pay $1500 for one to suit RB25
  9. yeah i watch it and downloaded the episodes from your local bit torrent source it used to be junkyard wars when it was on foxtel in australia its a great show - heaps of fun and some good hack jobs to solve wierd mechanical problems

  13. no, you dont need to go over the tune every now and then, the tune is static once it is set as long as the engine parameters dont change, it should be fine

  16. there are a few known causes of idling style issues. dirty contacts (AFM or TPS), worn out valves (AAC valve), and other wear style issues (wiring, coil packs etc). these would typically result in unstable idle, fluctuating idle, or blipping style idling - the r33 service manual would list several fixes and corrective measures for this, you should download it and have a read the engine rpm dropping to 500rpm (almost stalling) on clutch in is usually associated with an atmo bov its been covered to death over a 100 times, its always usually the atmo bov, it dumps air that the AFM has already measured so the mixture is out of scale, as the air is missing so the engine overstalls and rpm's plummet

  20. the turbo is capable of heaps but i see no mention of; - clutch, ecu, and afm/injectors so id say around 180kw
  21. youll need an ecu to support the injectors
  22. if you can get them cheap and fit them yourself sure why not the front and rears housings are larger so if you can find them cheap, do it
  23. you really should contact the datalogit guys at www.fc-datalogit.co.nz to prove authenticity of the datalogit box you have
  24. of course normal maitenance should still apply for the car if the car is putting out significantly more power than std more attention should be given to service intervals and quality of fluids, items used etc
