  3. whilst using higher octane fuel will take out knocking you should just have your tune fixed to suit 98 ron fuel. the powerfc faq (in my sig) will help you identify the knocking show you how to report it to your tuner

  6. hiflows sometimes can be associated with compressor surge. this is commonly seen as fluttering whilst ramping up or coming boost. compressor surge is actually boost past the compressor wheel is higher than what the compressor map can supply. ie the compressor map says the max flow in the ideal scenario is 19psi but when its ramping on boost it actaully peaks past 22psi so the compressor wheel surge's

  12. active lsd in the gtst is the same, peers off the ABS system. i believe it looks at the wheel speed sensors to work out how fast the wheels are spinning vs vehicle speed. if abs fails in my gtst so to does active lsd
  13. when i turn my car to ON (without starting) all my lights come on. both a-lsd and slip come on. they should to indicate the lights are working and diag is OK. if you dont have a-lsd light come on at post diag then it could be the light is dead, and it may be failing mid flight for you, hence the single spinning ? if slip doesnt come on when you are loosing traction the computer isnt doing its job and turning the pump on. i suspect in your case your A-lSD is failing each time at start up and the a-lsd light is dead as well. do you have the factory ecu or an aftermarket ecu ?

  18. if it was shagged it would probably make jack all boost, chop when coming on boost and make wierd bearing noises. when the car is off the oil line isnt flowing so it probably wont spin as well as it would with optimum operating temperature and a flowing oil line to lube the bearings.

  20. you can do this with most stand alone ecu's you retard the timing and dump fuel on the area of that map that it runs over when you perform a gear change. for powerfc users this is the very top row in the IGN and INJ map. its load 0 to 1445 on the gtst FC. if you change all that row to 0deg ign it will pop and backfire on gearchange (mine does) and if u want as rich as possible, then edit the same row on the INJ map. its probably likely to increase the change of ceramic exhaust wheel failure however
  21. gtr twins are at the front of the car left of the intercoooer. follow the pipework from the core and youll find them
  22. if you tap it with a spanner or something solid it will ting if its empty so its pretty easy to tell if its been gutted also youll have black crap on the rear bar where the muffler comes out obvious signs of a gutted cut or "hi flow" special cat

    the kfc walkthrough was amusing, i was there when snowy and james were in the queue and james had almost scored a lift home with some old couple it was only till i was yelling at the serving people to "hurry the f$*! up" a few times that they weren't too keen on giving us a lift. james even offered to buy their food just to get home. very amusing. the wait was sooooo worth it, over 30 minutes in the kfc walkthrough, and there was 5 cars in front of me. they do things fast in shepparton the maccas this morning was a joke
