  1. the boost control kit plug, is it the 3 pin or 5 pin kit? what car do you have? if its the 5 pin kit then the solenoid power and ground run to the loom and the 3 wires for map sensor run off the boost kit loom if its the 3 pin kit then the solenoid power and ground run off the STOCK car loom and the 3 wires for the map sensor run off the boost kit loom look at your ecu's wiring diagram to find what wire is wastegate control, usually wire #25. run this to the solenoid and run the other to power from somewhere (im pretty sure). the powerfc faq shows u how to connect up both
  2. 'scar non. Another trademark night out by the gang. Happy birthday Pete. My head hurts and I wasnt even drinking. Cant wait to see how everyone feels in the morning
  3. go for the powerfc. good value for money, can tune as you please and gain more midrange and average power.
  4. without a local blitz tuner it is useless and offers no features. its like the mines ecu'. sure its a remap but its based on jap fuel and has settings you can;t change. you are better off buying a locally supported ecu
  5. youll have to pull out your door lock button and have a look. i dont see why they would have changed it for the gtt. the wiring should be common on all the skylines, at least you would expect
  6. a wastegate makes no noises. you have an internal wastegate'd turbocharger. fitting an external wastetgate achieves nothing. if you want vl turbo flutter or compressor surge then block off your bov or remove it completely
  7. 18psi @ 4285rpm assuming 4th gear
  8. you already have one www.howstuffworks.com look up turbocharging and youll read about the wastegate
  9. whilst i agree, the cost of the "tune" can often really crank up. especially if you want each cylinder plotted for egt. it takes more time, more resources and more work which costs the customer in the end. for a track/race car it sounds worthwhile, and for some people if you are tuning your carself then it makes sense. but for the average jo blo who has XYZ ecu and just wants a good power tune with safe afr's then its more work and more cost. most people can justify $500 ish on a tune, but even that is fair bit.
  10. its a boost controller

  12. perform the self learn with snow mode on you need to make it laggy so the solenoid can learn the cycle correctly
  13. happy bday champ
  14. powerfc faq covers the correction mode (it resets back 1.0 on power off) and how to use the boost control kit
  15. no idea. i could get some of the oil taken out and tested to see what fluid it is or i could just ask whoever changed it last what did they use. also tonight, turned pump on warmed it up. pump on, got pressure to higest (sensor goes off, and kills a-lsd) take off, diff locks but i get EXTREME axle tramp like violent. so its locking, but now i have suspension gayness

    Should I Buy?

keep it on, when have problems with it, take it off then. be sure to get the oil pressure gauge checked asap.
  17. take it to ray's workshop, he can sort it out for you, he has a dyno
  18. its not safe and even if you did it, its not accurate. the road will give different load rating and affect how the solenoid will turn on and off. just do the self learn in a quiet street or private road somewhere. youll need about 100meters odd to do it, so it should be fairly easy. sit in 3rd gear. take off in 3rd (youll have to ride the clutch) then full throttle till it beeps and changes to -2- then do a u-turn, repeat until you get to -1- and then finally it will change to normal operation mode
  19. its basically the oem no brand version of the hks 2835 most likely do a search on the rb25 turbo upgrade thread and look for the hks 2835
  20. tops, well done. kudos to be a good workshop

    im peaking
  22. We're (sarahb too) coming up but im not competing. Just coming for shits n giggles
  23. yeah ive read you can use rx7 injectors which are 550cc (ish) but youll need to find 6 of them of course. its probably easier and cheaper to just buy a set of 6 injectors instead of 4 and then 2. also s15 manual jdm injectors are in the similiar boat, but are 480cc.
  24. yeah me and the guy who helped me hack it (bennett) were having the same discussion, we came up with 1) why is it so compicated 2) why was it such a special factory option 3) why an extra 5k (apparrently) ??? 4) why not just a good mech diff ? we couldnt see any logical reason why they made it how it is, a computer controlled oil pump to lock the diff. why such expensive parts for a simple feature really, provide a good limited slip diff.
  25. well some may think so, but for me i wasnt prepared to spend some cash on a new diff so im kinda stuck with what i've got. all in all, its a lot better once ive got a pressure guage on the oil feed ill be happy and feel safe so that i can monitor pressure.
