  1. well i posted in the members event section a while back asking what the upcoming events were.. and i don't recall a dyno night being one of them
  2. sorry i don't understand your post.. "smell" was a typo which has been edited do you have an rb20 AAC valve lying around?
  3. stage 2 = automatic shift kit stage 3 = manualised autoamtic shift kit stage 2 just hardens up the shifts but the auto does the rest still stage 3 you have to shift for it to change gears when i rang mike @ MV, he said he only recommends the stage 3 for engine conversions where the auto computer can't control the gearbox if you have any Q's on how it works then call mike, he is the best person to speak to and is very happy to help explain it
  4. look i have nothing personal against those members that frequent this thread.. my issue is the reputation that comes to SAU as a result of actions of those who have a tendancy to whore threads, eg the events of those who got so bored that they went over to other forums and tarnish SAU's image when i see posts like "in for page 1", i just don't know why people bother even posting, wasting bandwidth, and actually making everyone who reads it lose functioning neurons the way i see it, the best solutions are: 1 - close this thread, and just head on over to the wasteland section of SAU 2 - post all your MSN usernames in your signature and just chat on MSN.. this is a dedicated program for chatting forums = for posting threads and sharing knowledge chatrooms/instant messaging = for random chit-chat
  5. just to clarify... you do know that "rb" as in rb20, rb25, rb26.. doesn't stand for "race bred", don't you?
  6. supercheap recycles for free
  7. my mechanic knows his shit, particularly rb20's if it is a piston problem, funds will limit my options for fixing to simply a stock rebuild of the rb20..
  8. a fibreglass one that fits a GTR won't fit a GTSt (only the original plastic ones do) you need to get a fibreglass one that is made for the GTSt but that looks like the GTR one ...but seriously don't get anything but the original. mine scrapes on everything and loves it (its an original plastic one from a GTR on a GTSt)
  9. WTB: AAC valve from an rb20det or rb20de its small so can come from anywhere (eg via aus post), or i'll pick it up if available in brisbane thanks, Warren
  10. don't you people have anything better to do with your days than spam useless crap on websites (including this one) all day, every day? geez.. if you ask me, this thread should be closed PERMANENTLY
  11. catch can has been installed as is for the last 12 months and nothing has changed, so unless one pipe has become blocked for some reason, its not the plumbing... well will see how the drivability changes obviously i'm trying to grasp hold of any hope here (thus why i'm trying to tell myself its something not serious) and denial is a powerful thing, but i'm just going to keep a close watch on it as its still driving fine i appreciate everyone's input Warren.
  12. yeah but if there's severe blow-by caused by a piston problem, then its going to show up on a compression test.. or so i have been told the car is not blowing any smoke, and still drives exactly as it has the last 4 years i've had it. if there was no oil in the catch can that one time you would swear there's nothing wrong...
  13. cams produced about 7rwkw more at the top end but heaps more midrange... but that was with adjustable gears as well... not just cams on their own.. i have no idea what the gears are set at though.. when my mechanic checks the compression i will get him to look at the cam gears also to see where they're at.. yeah the poncams are 256deg duration and 8.5mm lift
  14. last comp test was done 1 month ago and was all fine. have spoken to the mechanic and he is going to do another one next weekend he seems to think it might be PCV valve bolcked or stuffed, so i took it off properly and gave it a good clean after a few days of good hard driving i haven;t seen another drop in the catch can yet..
  15. that's pretty normal
  16. try removing the entire AAC valve and giving it a good clean with throttle body cleaner / brake cleaner then put it back on and screw the idle screw in about half way then plug the AAC back in and see how it is while you're there, give the AFM a clean with brake cleaner.. cheers, Warren
  17. doesn't "strawberry face" refer to s15 front on an s14/s13? as in the japanese translation can mean either s15 or strawberry depending on pronounciation? that;s what i read in HPI anyway
  18. defniately go charcoal in my opinion, nothing looks worse than white rims. u.g.l.y.
  19. do it! ...no seriously don't do it. why did you buy it if you couldn't afford to paint it?
  20. screw your friend, get whatever you want... is he going to cry if you get anythign 5 spoke? that is like 3/4 of the wheels out there... get the wheels, drive over to his house, and give him a box of tissues before you show him
  21. done any work to the auto box as well?
  22. there's the hand carwash cafe in bowen hills.. $25ish and they use recycled water, making you a tree hugger in teh process
  23. thanks paul... yeah i know what the catch can does, i'm just basically asking whether it soulds like the problem is the engine or the turbo or something else? so you think turbo on its way out? i might go get a compression / leak down in the next few days while i keep my eye on the turbo and catch can..
