EDIT: to summarise, oil in the catch can post-going to the drags @ willowbank.. turned out to be a blocked PCV, which when replaced with a $20 new one fixed the problem...!
-
bump have found a set but still looking for the best price..
-
i got mine done in the valley by an excellent mob called "exclusive auto centre" about 70 per corner but they didn't crack the paint one bit highyl recommended if you want a perfect job and can afford it. personally, its not worth the risk to go cheap because if the paint cracks then it cen't be reversed.. do a search in the QLD section for more info

you can get any hoses off justjap: silicone joiners for your intercooler, vacuum hose for all your boost lines etc. and while your there, get a nice blinged out FMIC complete with chrome piping! what else do you want blue? paint the rocker covers and cam gear covers blue and you're laughing...
-
i have seen others use the bov line and it having no problems mine has a nipple attached to the first part of the piping that goes from the exit of the compressor to the inlet of the intercooler.. most people tend to think it should come from as close to the compressor outlet as possible..

the only issues i have with the QLD section are: - general threads being posted here that would be better answered in other sections (eg forced induction) - the pointless thread at the top titled "whoretown".. seriously, there is a wasteland section of SAU, i don't see why it couldn't be put there, or its idle chit chat reserved for MSN or an equivalent. SAU isn't a chatroom, its a forum. yes i understand there has to be relationships built but posting "how's your breakfast?" just seems like going nowhere... if its a topic related to sklylines in queensland then it deserves its own thread, don't post in the wasteland for no reason. seeing people with 5000+ posts used to be that they might know a thing or 2 to help you out, but it now just means they are a post whore. note: not have a go at anyone at all in particular here, just putting forward my general point of view. i have praise for the mods because it can't be easy always being seen as the mean ones. they have a job to do and they do it. Warren.

coils are different from the ignitor pack. its the black box that sits at the rear of the engine above the coils

was a good spread of cars. sorry i didn't mingle... i had a mate with me so spent most time with him watching from the grandstand. was a bit dissappointed with my time. last time i ran 14.7@98mph but this time i ran 14.6@95mph had a much better 60' this time but still couldn't figure out why my mph was slower. oh well, it was great fun that rx7 was crazy, as was that 90s mustang, and the old white ford replica look forward to the next event!

Nulon Petrol Injector Cleaner - Safe To Use?
WazR32GTSt replied to SkyKC's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i have used it before no problems whatsoever with the driving characteristics i acutally used it quite concentrated once and i could feel my idle smooth out ever so slightly. palcebo effect? maybe. but i thought it was significant. but when it was in my tank i drove very sedately, given i wasn't sure how it would change the characteristics of the fuel and how it burns etc. -
yeah i don't understand either.. so who found it then? and if its still in QLD, why don't you get it back today?
-
the heat rating numbers are different for different brands aren't they? i use BCPR6ES which are from ngk, copper core, gapped to 0.8mm out of the box, and cost about $3 to 4 each
-
that's twice the price of the justjap one... is it going to be twice as good? is it even going to be better at all?
-
just to let everyone know, don't forget to bring: - helmet: meeting australian standard (with sticker to prove it) - shoes - long sleeve shirt/jumper - long sleeve pants as these are required for competitors... as least i think so, from memory from last time i was on the start line last time and they wouldn't start the tree because i had the sleeves of my jumper rolled up. i had to roll them down, then they let us start. geez. Warren.

on a slightly different note, have you done a search regarding carmate here on the forums? people seem to get a hit and miss with their bodykits. some are good, others are terrible. and customer service after you've purchased is non existant. just a heads up ....and go the canucks!
-
try swapping ignitor packs with another rb20.. takes all of 30sec and a likely culprit this is a common problem on z32's their ignitor packs lose a connection and a cylinder shuts down, or worse all cylinders shut down without spark
-
all flights col, on all airlines? that's unlucky what about travelling through adelaide or sydney?
-
www.justjap.com they have an intercooler kit that many here on SAU use and its perfect for any of the rb series of engines. i use it and i love it. as for boost, you can safely run 12psi and probably even 14psi on the rb20, the turbo takes a little more boost than on the rb25 motor for fuel pump, you can probably run a VLT fuel pump, but would you realy want to put a 15+ year old fuel pump into your car? it could die at any minute! if your going through the trouble of replacing it, i'd say go with something new cheers, Warren

i'd say R34 GT-T a tough choice. but considering the number of terrible R32 GTRs at a cheap price getting around these days its reputation has taken a tarnish. R33 GTR is behind both of them for me
-
its hard to find a workshop these days that will actually use communication skills that's why i was amazed when i used elite racing. dan called me to give updates and called before even thinking about charging more than quoted so we could discuss my engine plans and his plans. A1 communication.
-
i would also be keen on a PM with the name of the car yard... this is just a nightmare. terrible for the import reputation...
-
ouch! tore the muscle belly or tore at an insertion into the bone? just load up on some narcotic analgesics and you'll be right...
-
fair point, ash its interesting that a huge company like justjap with a good reputation as a business supplying decent parts at a good price, would put their name to something like these turbos.. they must have seen something in them..
-
no, but how can one possible determine long term protection in a clinical manner? different engines, different condition, different drivers it would be impossible to do a double-blinded randomised control trial comparing oil types.. that's the gold standard for clinical evidence
-
i have attached the results of an oil comparison taken from zoom magazine. i don't have the article as i have issue 109. they have printed this table at the start saying one of their previous issues (105) ran that article but the table wasn't formatted correctly as you can see... most power came from: nissan genuine, mobil 1, castrol magnatec, fuchs titan least power came from: pennzoil platinum, valvoline xld does anyone have a copy of issue 105 for more info on their testing?

Tyre Width Question
WazR32GTSt replied to Dave32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
when i chose mine, is was a combination of: - what kept the closest overall diameter to stock to keep the speedo accurate - what tyres were cheaper that lead me to get 255s go speak to your friendly local tyre person and see what they can offer you
