  1. awesome.. i'm pretty keen to hear how it sounds compared to stock, if that's possible... i've been looking at a hi-tech cat-back system.. but after my 3" exhaust on my R32, i want something that isn't anywhere near as loud, rather just something that sounds deeper at idle and at WOT
  2. was reading about the Hi-Tech exhaust on 350z forums and saw someone who got a spacer and went down 10rwkw.. this is a bloke in sydney btw.. http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php...;highlight=dyno post #142
  3. from what i've read, all they do is increase the air in the manifold and thus lean out mixtures across the rev range i'd personally rather a unichip or equivalent to do that.. but they're quite popular in the US
  4. if aftermarket fluid doesn't work then there would be no market for transmission fluid.. its just stupid i think the problems i see are: 1) most on g35driver.com have dealer waranties and don't want to void them - thus they take it back to the factory for handbook servicing 2) they're americans (self-explanatory)
  5. show your reverse cmera (if you have one like me )
  6. i'm in brisbane.. i'm keen to check out some V35's if anyone is keen in a few weeks
  7. nice, NA_R33.. did you paint it here or was it painted n japan? also, what brand extractors did you get and where did you order them from? i'm keen to throw a set of extractors and maybe a Y-pipe on the stock cat-back to see how that goes for the time being...
  8. ok i'm very keen to get my hand on a set of the OEM 7-spoke 18's that were optional on the V35 coupe's.. if anyone has a set and is upgrading, send me a PM. i have money in my hand.. or if anyone knows where i can get a set that would also be appreciated cheers, Warren
  9. this all sounds like crap to me.. there's hundreds of nssans on teh road, and you're telling me that our transmissin won't work with anything but original fluid? i've had motul fluid in my R32 gearbox for a year now with no issues, in fact since 2002 it has had no original fluid in it i'm going to do a full flush with some good aftermarket fluid sometime soon, and i'll be adding a trans cooler at the same time
  10. yeah thanks guys, i sorted it out yesterday afternoon based on your advice actually it looks quite handy.. after i do my next oil change i will set the reminder to flash up at 5,000kms to remind me of my next ongoing oil change!
  11. thanks mate, i'll try that i was mucking around with the menu's when i first got the car so i might have turned on the warnings or something maybe? anyone else got some ideas?
  12. about 2 months ago the same thought flashed across my head.. keep driving a modded 15+year old car and pour money into keeping it running or get a newer car with no mods, no cop hassles, newer, more luxurious etc. etc. ...its a logical move as you get older that's why i got a V35 350GT.. its still a skyline, handles awesome, and, yes, its as powerful as my R32 GTSt.. its amazing to drive and surprisingly got quite a lot of balls for a NA V6.. drive one and you will put a deposit down i guarantee it
  13. Has anyone had this flash up before on their nav screen? it appears every time i start the car.. i assume it obviously means that i've reached a service point, but i want to know if there's a way to get rid of it? any ideas? cheers, Warren
  14. yeah i'm ok with that, i was planning on connecting up an external nav device anyway (Actually chris, i might contact you in the near future about that if you can help me out as i'm in brisbane) all i wanted to do with the stock setup is to get it in english, which they can apparently do in japan... no the nav, just the information screens such as fuel economy etc
  15. a quick search reveales its called hte "fast idle control device", or "FICD" not present on the R32 but present on the R33/R34 engines... searching SAU or other forums like aus300zx.com might get you a lot of info, i don't know anymore, sorry
  16. has anyone been to an australian nissan dealership to get some advice? i was thinking of rocking up to a local Mr Nissan service department and explaining the situation etc even if they can jsut convert the stock display from jap to english i would be happy with that.. there's no reason they can't pull out the control box, send it to japan to be converted, and then send it back and re-install it that way we could get all the fuel economy stuff etc. in english it all comes down to what they would charge for it, really.. i think i would pay a few hundred for that
  17. V35 350GT-8 that's the 4 door sedan with 8-speed CVT transmission its got the luxuries of the audi/BMW/merc with the power of the 4wd's (206kW - same engine as 350z) but is still able to be taken anywhere they can be had with 20,000kms on them for around $30k or even less
  18. i thik nissan recommends 5w30 from memory, but you can't go wrong with anything decent off the shelf... try anything 10w40 or 10w50 and you'll be laughing
  19. happy birthday fellow melbournian
  20. i believe that it is the FICD valve and sooths out the ilde maybe a search of "FICD valve" might get you some more info hope that helps!
  21. those units are in km/L as in how many kilometres every litre of fuel will take you so the higher the number the more fuel efficient... the only reason i quoted those figures is because that's what the onboard computer shows when you are watching fuel economy
  22. huge difference from what i have read 5 speed is a regular auto transmission 8 speed is a CVT transmission which is totally different - it doesn't have gears and works on pulley's or something like that . you will have to research that yourself... this only comes on sedans yeah i was pleasently surprised with the economy too.. when i was cruising on the highway i actually reset the fuel calculator average and it shot up to like 14km/L and said i would get 850-900kms out of the tank. but that was literally cruising in 5th on the highway and not a real life situation i think its reasonable to think that (According to the onboard fuel computer) to get > 10mk/L highway and around 5-8km/L city depending on how urban your environment is.. this is for 350GT anyway, would be interesting to contrast to the CVT model and to the sedans with the 3L and 2.5L engines... cheers, Warren
  23. mine was mostly highway for thoe figures
  24. i have a v35 coupe 350GT according to the onboard computer, i was getting about 10 km/L this equates to around 700 kms per tank considering my R32 was getting about 250kms per tank, i am pretty happy edit: that's with the 5-speed auto btw...
  25. $1200 with justcar insurance that's full comp with rating one protection and i'm 24yo
