  5. At the end of the day, someone will have had to really hack into the thing for it to be considered 'too thin' to use. Not too many machinists would do that. Rb20det comes from the factory with quite a low compression ratio as it is. A couple points more static CR is only a good thing. When you put it back together, just be sure to get it on a dyno. Cheers J.
  6. don't worry about it.... as long as it's straight, bolt it on.
  7. mines baffles in rb26 or modified rb25 rocker covers work 100%.
  8. ... oh shit. I thought you were joking about the pink.
  9. Loved this Laurel.... from day dot in Tassie '06 from memory. Do you wan't to sell the gtc's? ... I've got the other pair. Cheers Justin
  10. As Dave said, get a reasonable 'china' cooler and start from there. Otherwise, get a decent am gtr cooler and stuff it in the nose.
  11. No no no.... Thats what I need
  12. .... wait for it. My bet is that you have an air bubble between the fuel an gauge. Due to the orientation of your gauge. Cheers Justin

  16. I wouldn't be using a transfer pump to pull blow by or vapor. Check this out: http://www.moroso.com/catalog/categorydisplay.asp?catcode=17200
  17. That sucks... Sorry don't know him. J.
  18. Some people seem to have issues with throwing power steering belts after installing a Ross harmonic balancer. I have a Ross balancer and don't seem to have any dramas. J.
  19. For a whizzer as big as you are planning to run, go the 90mm single throttle body plenum. It will be easier to tune. Any advantage of ITB's will be negated by such a large turbo and the delivery it will provide. I don't buy into the 'single TB for big power, ITB's for small power' internet theory. It's been disproved in the real world time and time again. Single TB's are simpler to tune with.... and big power with an rb26 means big lag. The main advantages of ITB's are in the lower end or transient throttle- both of these areas are 'dulled' down with a large turbo. Personally I chose to stick with ITB's, greddy plenum and twin trust td06 l2's on my rb28. I believe I achieve better throttle response, better transient response, higher intake air speed, more even air volume between cylinders and a better sound. Cheers Justin
  20. The CAS drive key-way has flogged out... Replace the CAS with a known good one and see what happens.
  21. I have a s2 stag.... any more than stock power I would highly recommend an additional trans cooler. Any more than the stock turbo can deliver, seriously consider a shift kit (MV Auto). I have a deatschwerks fuel pump (kudos motorsport) was factory style drop in fitment... excellent pump. I have a return pipe cooling pro stealth fmic. I painted the clamps black too.... not noticeable from the front and uses stock pipework under the bonnet. Especially with a stock airbox under the bonnet it all looks factory. Again, i have a nistune board installed and tuned for 12psi. All these mods (and a full 3" exhaust) were very simple and produced great results... I picked up 30rwkw through the mid range and 23rwkw at the top end, as well as a heap of torque everywhere. Be carful choosing a turbo. Stagea's are quite heavy, so lag will be amplified with a larger turbo. You'll need a z32 AFM if you go with a highflow. Cheers Justin
  22. If you'd like a light revvy feeling (like a 20 is) engine, just loose all the weight off the engine... Have a good hard look at an electric water pump! especially if you're going to run it in a drift car. Power steering... again, it's a pretty big strain on the engine. As long as you have a good size battery, an electrically driven ps pump can be more (much more) powerful than an under driven mech pump. Especially with a few tricks. Again- bonus in a drift car! Hell- if it's a track only car, mount the alternator to the drive shaft (like a proper race car). ... as you said, have a good hard think outside the box. \Cheers Justin
  23. ... I think I get what your trying to achieve. Yeah, just loose as much rotating mass as possible.... electric water and PS pump, under drive pulley set, lightweight rods, knife edged crank, lowish lift cams with more duration, loose bearing and ring gaps etc. Small diameter multi-plate clutch, shorter gearing. It's never going to be as revvy as a 20, but you could get close. Long runner exh mani (trust style exh mani),
  24. I think some people are confusing what a TD06 25g is.... Think T67 not 20g. On e85, well over 300rwkw. I think a TD06 25g with a 12cm housing would be a nice match to an rb26. I'm not sure it will still be making power at 9500 rpm though. It will still rev out, the power delivery will just flatten out though. If you want to go top mount, a T78 would be what you are looking for... I'd suggest two 40+mm wategates too. As for head... mild cams and any upgraded springs will get you to 9500rpm peak. Cheers Justin
