  1. 0.3 MPH to go! GTR's have 5 forward gears...i might start using more than 3...good idea?
  2. Is the harness purchaser aware of some of the tasks it has performed? i.e. draped over a hot models breasts to obscure her nipples during a photo shoot!
  3. We also discovered this and documented it on here a few years ago...we actually made the same power with less boost switching from AVC-R to Blitz ID-III. A few AVC-R lovers out there were most upset at me having a go at their bright blue toy. Excellent thread to back it up. Well done Trent...top stuff.
  4. AWARD DIFF AND GEARBOX South Street Rydalmere, NSW, 2116 Telephone:02 9638 0822
  5. $80 eh and a free licence if you drive a 12.00 or slower. bugger for owning/racing a quick car...not only do the slower guys get a cheap licence, their races last longer too!
  6. Aaron, my proposal was to be inplace of the current UDL licence, i wasn't even aware a NSW div. licence existed (is this a SS/T licence?) as ive only ever held a UDL. The cost of running at each event may vary i.e. a national point scoring event would attract a larger 'run' fee to that of a bracket meeting.
  7. Is 9k the only person who thinks this idea is feasable? The more people race the more of an insurance risk they present. Here's an idea of how it could work...please ignore figures as its only a guide. Licence $110 per year and a payment for insurance and development for each event of $55. So the casual racer that may only attend a couple of events will be out of pocket say $220. The more frequent racer attending half a dozen events would be out of pocket $440. Finally the seasoned hard core racer may have to pay up to $660. The more a driver is on the track the greater insurance risk they are but also more coverage they will be getting from media etc (development fund). Some people may pay more under this system but unfortunately thats the downside. They are using the facilities more and should contribute to the cost of running the event. I fail to see why a user pays system like this could not be implemented and im sure ANDRA would have enough statistical data to ensure they would be no worse off financially and may even make more money as im sure it would encourage guys like 9k to get their car back to the track. Aaron? 2rismo?
  8. Terry just modified and rebuilt my diff..its tight as. He's doing my transfer case at the moment...i can see some driveshafts crying enough very soon. 7 rip it out and send it to Terry, he has most parts on the shelf.
  9. Award Diff and Gearbox at Rydalmere...OS Giken and PPG specialist. Terry could do a stock box in his sleep.
  10. yep its a go-cart with a terrible steroid abuse problem.
  11. pretty accurate...i put in my 3300lb to my 670whp and it says 9.91...my best is 9.95 but thats holding the car back by holding 3rd gear...so on a proper run id say a 9.9 flat is on the money. put my new wheel hosepower in and weight 3300/900 and it says ill run a 8.9...yeehaa
  12. how modified is your 32 Jess?
  13. all i ever wanted was a 9...now i want an 8...where does it stop? sorry 1wristmo mistake by me...deduct 5 points
  14. Jess we have 2 Red R Racing GTR's one circuit and one drag...but will bring both to Bathurst...just bringing 'twoogle' for a bit of fun. So the conrod thing is...conrod-chase-murrays-pit starting at Forrest's elbow...oh dear...how will i ever make the chase?
  15. Its 1st grade in a full bodied car. What? a supra! does dad want his car back? I can just visualise "dad, can i borrow the car" dad replies "well ok but how long are you going to be?" shane replies "9 seconds" lol
  16. Yeah the distributor assured me it was wasted spark...i doubted it...runs good on all cars we have tested it on though. It can be also programmed to run clever features like map/temp so it will only access parts of the map as car heats up...for example on start up restrict you to a 5000rpm rev limit and as car warms up open more and more of the map.
  17. Finally putting on that 1st grade jersey thats had your name on it for so long. good to hear Shane and good luck with it.
  18. if you hadn't noticed the thread had moved on nicely without you adding that Adam. sometimes the expression of words i have typed are maybe read the wrong way as has been the case in the past and again in this instance. Ill try to be a bit more careful with the words i choose as i agree somethings can be looked at as being rude but are not meant that way. You have spoken to me before both in person and at length on the telephone and understand im not rude and abrupt at all and try and be helpful when and where i can. im trying a new thing and want to get involved in the chit-chat but seem to be doing more harm than good. Maybe i should not bother and just enter the events and keep to myself. As i think i will be forever 'scarred' with the drag racer tag which everyone seems to get delight out of. Getting to know the people involved, obtaining a bit of knowledge from them and having some people to chat with at events is my aim not causing greif at all. Ill just keep to myself in future as its very discouraging. can we move on again to thread topic please.
  19. price on the doors then? we have a Blitz DSBC here if you want to swap?
  20. yeah im keen, Dave will bring the Superlap car up as well. Just got to make sure it doesn't clash with family/other events. So ill be going down conrod... they will have to tractor me out of the sand trap at the end of each attempt. They cannot possibly expect me to try and take the chase on. Duncan as for speed estimates...you can do the maths... 1360kg GTR, 4.11 diffs, PPG straight cut dogbox, 900hp at the treads, 9500rpm rev limit and one nut behind the wheel.
  21. OK looks as if the driver is the weak link...im in trouble then.
  22. How's your tyre bill Jess? going through plenty of fronts?
  23. i think again i will have to clarify...Superlap was our first REAL go at a corner EVENT, i did even use those words in thread. Track days and such to me dont count as i was driving a daily driver that had zero set-up, bugger all grip and no brakes...just a bit of fun really. At Superlap we actually spent some time (2 weekends) prepping the daily driver to a racecar and was aiming to compete not just make up the numbers. Im not thin skinned at all...you might be just stirring without having full knowledge about what your typing about and assuming a lot. Should i now put a little smiley face at the end of this as a waiver? Lets move on shall we... Harry seems as you have already been there can you give us a few pointers on set-up?
