  1. Great to hear your pleased with the result Johno...our head work is top shelf and something id glady do the 'Pepsi Challenge' with against any other shop in this country. Can you get me a tensioner pulley and spring sent up as soon as you are able. thanks mate and yes Keeper the pulley stud is removeable
  2. "Its the plugs" Stacey Diemar 2004-2008
  3. JUN and Performance Metalcraft sump FTW
  4. full assembly of engine is completed and engine was picked up on Saturday. Johno will have to let us know how it goes.
  5. not in my books but yes as BB and Nis. said earlier... An N1 pump will live quite happily in a 8000rpm rev limited car that does not use ignition cut. The JUN and Tomei pumps will empty a stock sump at high rev's quite easily.
  6. nah its only the 0.81 the plugs are NGK v-power coppers
  7. nah we didn't have it ready to run until after 6 friday night due to us wasting too much time trying to get mine finished... so we took it down to Chris Bale's at Toronto. Chris offered to stay open as long as we needed which was great of him but we only needed an hour. Thanks again for your help.
  8. X 3 Swap you for a clean silver R32 that was once famous now sporting monster turbo, straight cut dog box etc... ohh you said that work was a klm away...no good...this car is only good for 400m. you could walk the other 600m...it will do you good!
  9. Send it up Kat...our head work is top shelf PM Jz R33 as we just did an engine for him that he picked up on Saturday. Our engines have a proven track record taking out several Autosalon power championships and powering our R32 drag car to win the Australian title in 2004-2005. We have just built our current engine in our race car to push over the 1000hp mark and into the 8 sec bracket. Im doing a couple of engines for ACT customers actually...you may know some of them.
  10. Sunoco...it made 420awkw at 22psi on BP98...we put the Sunoco in and it went backwards to 390 odd kw. Then i adjusted the timing and leaned it off (Sunoco is a slow burning fuel and likes it lean with lots of timing) and power started to climb again. Then once the correct plugs were fitted it really started to make the power it should have. Then a couple more psi of boost until we saw 450kw (600hp) at the treads. A more experienced tuner may have gotten more power but considering my limited experience it was as far as i was confident of pushing it without hurting it.
  11. Its the 2nd car in the pics. Its our time attack car we ran at Superlap. I tuned the car in about an hour on friday night and settled for a boost, timing and fuel level that the engine was the happiest at. The injector size limited the level of boost i could wind into it (700cc's) both cars pictured both sported built engines with HKS T04Z's except the blue one has a shot of NOS needless to say we had it more than covered. Yes Richard the car is nuts on the road with massive power and excellent throttle response. I was a very nervous passenger on the trip from the dyno to Autosalon.
  12. 6 cyl AWD...720kw won Power Champion (Mr HDT blown VK) Not a bad result though for Dave's genuine daily commuter vehicle. (not too many cars get driven to and from work every day 40mins each way with that sort of mumbo)
  13. Newcastle Autosalon 6 Cyl AWD champion 2008 awesome work mate....well done...results are starting to come now the car is sorted.
  14. See cover car on issue 92 of HPI for the DiRTgarage/Red R Racing designed system. The ultimate set-up when running high boost and high G racing.
  15. and me too...im in Newcastle and could pick it up
  16. For simplicity id go the Hi Octane one...sell the Tomei baffle kit to someone with a streeter. The sump i had was already modified in Japan complete with baffle kit and had a box the same as the internal diameter of the tomei kit that extended down about 3 inches below the baffle from memory. It works well but the Performance Metalcraft/Hi Octane item is a better option and the one i went with. It will hold more oil too.
  17. You cannot run the TRUST one....but who mentioned TRUST?....not me...not Andrew...i thought he just meant extending the sump. I had an extended sump which i sold to a customer in the ACT which was extended below the Tomei baffle and had an extended pick-up...worked very well.
  18. Yes it is possible to still run the Tomei baffle with a sump extension. Why would you want a 6 inch blond when there are so many nicer 6 foot ones? Who does the braided clutch lines? and what is the benefit of fitting? Thanks
  19. If its the clutch pictured (which is a push type) then it will fit. apoligies if my last post has added confusion
  20. we dont use the pin and clip method. A large screwdriver placed in front of the bearing and pushed in and slighty twisted will remove the bearing from the clutch.
  21. Some food for thought... My home built low 10 sec engine using mainly stock Nissan components (my old one not the current one) with a synchro gearbox on basic road tyres (Federal 595's) runs faster 1/4 mile times than... A mega dollar full workshop backed R34 GTR with JUN stroker making 800AWKW with a Hollinger sequential gearbox on slicks The times are all in the set-up....not the bottom end! This thread is about using strokers (and which one) or not...to run 9's...is it not? Lets get it back on topic
