  1. might get to one of these events one day...if i had a racecar...to busy building engines and working on other peoples cars to get my own back on the road. I need to be a little more selfish and look after myself for a change instead of making others my priority. Couldnt even get up over there to spectate as my daughter flew to Japan on Sunday so had a busy weekend with her.
  2. Here's one of me hamming it up in the worlds most famous GTR
  3. SCAT are made in the US....ive already debunked this myth that everything is made in China in another thread.
  4. i suggest the conrod has not been checked and is is possibly out of round on the big end.
  5. one of the above posts is flirting with the forum rules....please be careful when posting negative experiences with workshops as ive recieved two warnings about this issue.
  6. ill have it if we cannot find a better alternative i.e. our phone conversation yesterday
  7. yes...one of my pet hates
  8. my low oil pressure ignition cut circuit was designed purely for a drag racing application where 200km/h+ shutdowns are not an issue. Our Superlap car had a shutdown mid corner at Oran Park turn 1 and nearly ended in tears and pain. This car shutoff due to the inadequate oil breather system installed by another workshop spraying oil out the inlet on throttle lift off cutting out the AFM's.
  9. No they would be about the same...the gears are the same basic design albeit a more agressive tooth profile and far superior parent material on the PPG. The way each gear is selected whether it be dog engagement or synchromesh has little bearing on the losses after the gear is selected.
  10. Some facts...The 3 clutches that have exited for differing reasons....one was a fractured flywheel one was a pressure plate and one was a clutch cover. The flywheel one was a STD flywheel that had been fractured long before a Jim Berry clutch was fitted. The other two im unable to give an accurate comment on. For the record i no longer use Jim Berry clutches but would recommend that if anyone use them that they have the flywheel and pressure plate X-rayed before sending it to Jim. That way you can be confident that the product you recieve back will be up to the task and give both yourself and Jim piece of mind that your not sending him inferior materials to begin with. Glad no injuries were sustained in this incident.
  11. something im struggling to believe unless it was a super low weighted car with a dog-box on slicks and with that ET i doubt it. 134MPH = at the very least 400AWKW in a R32 GTR
  12. We have a Godzilla motorsport race engine that has just been freshly assembled....budget around $15K it will support around 1000hp
  13. Ben could tune a medieval harp if it needed it!
  14. i didnt recieve a phonecall "for gearbox enquiries press 8" done it Shaun...call for more info
  15. Nah i was in the car punching the numbers in...i nominated Glen from ESP racing to keep an eye on what was coming out the back.
  16. nah pretty straight forward...like all Jap stuff all the correct bolts etc are supplied. We used to run the ARC kit on our car before it got too serious. Think it took me about an hour to fit.
  17. The JUN kit is far more superior than the ARC kit. Hypertune fabricated a copy of the JUN kit for our car. The kit we have constantly bleeds the head in three places the ARC kit bleeds from the single factory bleed screw point. For a streeter the ARC kit is probably sufficient.
  18. egt probes?? fancy pants we do it by look and feel...lol...those overfuelling backfire flames can be nasty.
  19. My 500AWKW 9 sec. GTR racecar ran a garden variety Power FC with AFM's for years. Never a problem
  20. for fear of being flamed i care not to publicly post what AFR's and timing. Most people fail to understand how this fuel reacts compared to normal pump. You can run it a lot leaner and give it a lot more timing....more than what you would think. But each engine reacts differently to the increase... so there is no hard and fast rule of thumb. Just got to keep an eye on the exhaust temps and listen carefully to the engine. if i posted the numbers the uneducated would think id lost my mind...lol
  21. Dave still had the platinum street plugs he likes to run on pump in the car platinum + race fuel = ignition breakdown
  22. They are not turning into Haltech...i.e. you sell 2 ecu's and your a distributor. You sell and advertise a product that is in direct competition with this ECU. Distrubutors are chosen due to their loyalty to the parent company (formally the supplier of Autronic plug-in's) , knowledge and experience. If you are unhappy with this arrangement i suggest you e-mail Ray and voice your opinion to him...not rant on here. I also suggest you have a discussion with him regarding the product as its far more than a rebadged Link as you may be incorrectly suggesting. Just because this arrangement leaves you out of the loop does not mean the product is inferior or its distribution practices poor. We can get plenty of units and our customers are extremely happy with the turn-around from ordering to installation and tuning. You seem a good fella Trent who knows his stuff so i think the suggestions ive made above may be worth following up. You can make a dollar out of this product but it may be in other areas i.e tuning and after-sales service. If the Melbourne distributor is for some reason unable to supply you units for whatever reason you can order them quite easily though us.
  23. group buy is closed. sorry
  24. Get a ViPEC...better and cheaper. mods thread can now be closed
