  1. Quite possibly I really have no idea, which is why I asked... Two things though: 1. It may not affect a single scroll exhaust wheel like most, but surely it would have a detrimental effect on a twin scroll? 2. B-Man had problems with his exhaust manifold grouping and pipe lengths didn't he?

  3. Nice looking manifold... Does anyone know the firing order of the RB26? Is a 1-2-3/4-5-6 grouping for a twin scroll turbo going to work with the firing order of an RB26??
  4. Hmmmm... If you're only ("only"... hehe  ) getting 304rwkw out of 2530s, perhaps my GT-SS turbos are too small I was hoping for 300kw @ all four from the GT-SS... Hmmmm...
  5. Well you seem to have it sorted now, but just to clarify, the right part number is: 0 580 254 044
  6. Hi Ming
  7. Sydneykid: I have Tomei 260/260 9.15mm lift cams for my RB26... Will I need to replace the valve springs and seats for this application?
  8. Okay, seriously... Those like The_Paladin who say things like "oh and for those hoping their car would go up in price"... Have you ever READ what we have posted? Because NO-ONE has said ANYTHING to that effect. You have PURELY pulled that out of where the sun don't shine, and I HATE having words put in my mouth by people trying to better their argument because they have nothing else to argue on. We have said that we would like to limit the depreciation rate of our cars. We would like to lose a little money as possible through depreciation. OH WOW!!! You mean we don't want to lose an excessive amount on our cars??? Wow, we're so selfish aren't we?? I DON'T want the Skyline to be a cheap car. I DON'T want 17 year olds driving $20,000 GTRs I DON'T want everyone driving Skylines because there are 40,000 of them in the country and the market oversaturation have driven the price down so any old joe-blow can own one. I think it's obvious this argument is seperated punters into two groups. 1. People who already own an import and wish to LIMIT their depreciation and people who don't want every kid fresh out of school driving an import and giving our community a ban name after taking a corner at 2nd gear redline and writing off his R33 GTR. 2. People who can't afford a nice import, and hope that the prices will go down so that they CAN afford one. Pretty simple really, and quite predictable... So calling people in the other group "stupid", "idiots", "tool" or "delusional"... All you're doing it detracting from your argument by making yourself look bad. The_Paladin, I just went back and read a previous post of yours and saw this: "yes to an extent they will (logically) but anyone who buys a car under the age of 40 and expects it to gain value is a tool" You have read NOTHING of our case and you are just blabbing pure bullshit. Stop putting words in our mouths. YOU'RE the only person who has posted anything to the effect of us expecting our cars to increase in value... Perhaps you should look in the mirror or the glare of your computer monitor before calling other people "tools" for trying to LIMIT their asset depreciation. How old are you anyway?
  9. That's false logic right there. Paraphrase: "An NSX depreciated a lot, and there are no NSX grey imports, so therefore grey imports will depreciate at the same rate." The rest of us have managed to discuss this topic civilly and without the need to resort to childish calling of theories "utter crap"... If you can't step upto the level of conversation, feel free to sit back and watch. And yes, I would be willing to bet my life on the fact that if there were only still 100 Australian delivered R32 GTRs in Australia (minus the 30 or so that would have been written off out of that original 100), that their value would be a LOT more than their current $30,000 value. The reason the NSX depreciated from $250,000 to $90,000 is because they weren't worth $250,000 to start with (Personal opinion)
  10. "that is what happens", only because of market oversaturation. And this 15 year old rule only lends itself to creating more of a problem, and a steeper depreciation rate. You assume I only did first year eco But yes, I did disclaimer my little graph by saying that it was "extremely basic" or something along those lines. Supply and Demand relationship, no matter how complex the trade relations between two companies/countries are, still always subscribe to that simply yet accurate theory.
  11. Yes of course, but you also forget that I will also be buying many more cars in the future, so I have a vested interest in keeping the market value of cars lower just like you. But I would MUCH rather prefer to pay a higher price for the car and suffer a lower depreciation rate, than pay slightly less for the car, but have the value depreciate like the titanic because of market oversaturation. The above is just pure personal opinion about the domestic market and has very little bearing on the grey import market, as per this discussion. Of course they realise that. In fact, they EXPECT it, when buying a new car. But buyers do NOT expect that kind of vicious depreciation when purchasing a USED car, which is exactly what has happened to owners of the more expensive grey imports today. And thanks for the offer, but I did micro and macroeconomics at university, I don't need to be "taken through it"... Although I should probably go and re-read my notes :P
  12. Well of course that's true, but you forget that I will also be purchasing many other cars in the future, so I also have a financial interest in lowering the price of cars on the market. But I would much prefer to pay more to start with, and suffer a lower depreciation rate, than pay less to start with and suffer a higher depreciation rate. All the above is purely personal opinion on the domestic market, and has absolutely no bearing on how we will affect the price of 10-15 year old imported cars (i.e. this discussion) Of course they realise it. They EXPECT it. But when a buyer purchases a $60k second hand car, they DON'T EXPECT to also lose $20k on it as they would a new car purchase. Unfortunately, that's what's happening right now due to the influx of cars through the 15 year old rule. And thanks for the offer, but I did micro and macroeconomics at universtity, I don't need to be "taken through it".......... Although I should really re-read my notes :P
  13. So basically you want to keep the 15 year rule, AND slacken the SEVS restrictions??? And you think that won't result in even more cars being imported?!?!? Riiiiiiiiiiight. Do you remember the Supply/Demand curves in mircoeconomics? This is amazingly basic, and I'm sure this isn't the first you've seen this, but let me refresh your memory. I don't think I need to say anymore in relation to price drop of our cars in relation to the huge influx of cheaper, older models in the market. And for those of your who say that "you don't buy your cars for their resale value, you obviously haven't owned a car yet that has dropped $20,000 in 6 months, so lets just keep things in perspective, okay? Not everyone loses $5,000 on their $15,000 car in 2 years. The higher the price and newer the car, the harder and faster the depreciation rate, and it's something we ALL have to take into consideration.
  14. Ohhh Teppanyaki IN!!!!
  15. You might be right, yeah....
  16. Their rating is MON, not RON like ours. Their 91 MON is equivalent to our 98 RON...
  17. Ahhh Yeah, that pipe replaces the stock "twin turbo" labelled pipe that joins the output of the two turbos... The stock one has a very sharp angle joining the first turbo... It might very well have an aftermarket front mount, but you can't tell from that photo. Not sure about the condition... That is a very weird place to put the BOVs... An R32 owner might be able to tell you more about it's condition...
  18. count me in! what about the Feb dinner though?
  19. I'll be waiting there for you guys BRING YOUR CAMERAS!!!!!!!!!
  20. Well........ Then you can't afford the car!!! Buy something cheaper and don't lower the value of MY car!!! This however can be very true in some cases... I can't suggest a better rule to replace the current one, other than doing every car on a case-by-case basis, and I'm not deluded enough to think that will EVER get past the front desk of Parliament house
  21. Nope. Scrap the rule, stop importing old and busted cars into Australia, and stop lowering the resale value of our cars.
