paypal are the biggest scammers known to mankind. no thanks, i'd rather rub honey on my genitals and sit on top of an anthill than deal with paypal.

switch is a problem with the contacts... happened on mine too. got fixed by the autoelec while installing my alarm as a freebie

Thing with Skyline owners is that they're an odd bunch that are half torn between purists and modders. If you look at other marques other than skylines, usually the owners are of one type or the other, they'll either restore it immaculately using period parts or matching numbered parts etc (eg: antique car collectors, rare edition collectors), or they'll completely mod it to the point where you can't recognise it (eg: excel owners, pontiac fiero owners). Unfortunately the GTR is a unique car, but its not exactly a collectable car... its fun to modify, but its also got that certain aura of respect. So what you get are a bunch of people who are purists when it comes to badging, and other aesthetics, but are completely fine with hacking the car to bits to make it perform better etc. Now given that its a community full of people like that, if you put a GTR badge on a GTSt, no one will care if it has the muscle to back the claim, but if it doesn't it will be met with a sneer or scorn.

methink's he's just trying to prove that he's got ぶどう.

wow this is as barren as the secret squirrel section

I'd definitely be in for that... cept atm till I fix my gearbox issues I can't go over 70km/h (auto gearbox with no Drive gear). Was supposed to pick up the replacement box this weekend, but I don't think I will be able to, so I'll have to put it off till next weekend. So just for the next 2 weeks if it involves goin more than 70km/hr I might have to just meet you guys there. Location's convenient anyways, I work in Toowong so comin out wed/thu night is no probs.

the rims were 7" +22 all around. the bands were machined up to make them 10.5" -22 at the back and 9.5" -10 in the front. I doubt they'd have put them on the wheels though.

I live near the bottom of Mt Coot-tha on Chapel Hill Rd, I'm down for weekly meetups too. Just moved up here from melbourne and bored shitless. We used to do fortnightly meetups and a cruise to a food place of some sort for dinner once a fortnight back home in melb... missing the love (and the gate) up here.

yeah not pissed about the loss... more pissed that they upset my poor mum. Ah well... metal fence is gettin put up this week and I've just ordered an 8 point house alarm which will call me and 2 other people if someone tries to break in again. Me and my mates just wanna find the amatures that took the stuff for shits n giggles. And yeah I was stressed cos I thought they might have taken my light up panel, but its still there. The rest of the gear is all replaceable.

So since I live in Brissy now and mum was on holidays a bunch of entrepreneurs had obviously cased out my house for a five finger discount. They must've been purely opportunistic as they only stole from the garage and didn't break into the actual house. Items missing: 17" Work VS-XX Custom wider outer bands for VS-XX rims Rolling toolbox and an assortment of Wurth tools Lawnmower US Audio home entertainment system GMC Bench saw Fruit n vege trolley I box full of audio cables Seriously... whoever grabbed the stuff is a complete idiot... or a crackhead of some sort looking for a quick buck. I mean... who steals a frikken shopping basket trolley thing? Not really pissed that the stuff's gone, cos insurance is giving me back more than the value of the items But if anyone comes across any 17" VS-XX's for sale around the dandenong area or surrounding burbs... or more obviously the custom machined bands, please let me know, I'd like to "talk" to the seller. The wheels look like this... They were wrapped in factory work covers and had boxes with the "Work" logo on 3 of them.

I made 95rwkw a long time ago on my RB20DE R32 with cams, fujitsubo extractors, exhaust, pod, fresh filters, button clutch, and retuned ECU. Car cost me $12000 about 8 years ago and I spent about $3000 on top for the mods (most of the good stuff came with the car). Point I'm gettin at is 35kw more than that with an RB25DE Neo doesn't seem that unrealistic with some dyno number oriented tuning. And yeah I didn't read that much into Dan's initial response either... Cara, think you read too much into it, but you're both being a lil immature for carrying on after that

My Importing Journey
funkymonkey replied to hanyou's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I hope DOTARS never reads that. Technically a car you import for compliance isn't supposed to be in anyone's hands other than the compliancer. -
if it'll get me a heavily subsidised GT-R then I'm applying... so what if I know squat about marketing. I clearly have half a clue more than Nissan Australia does when it comes to matters of performance cars. hottest car being sold in oz atm that's by a japanese manufacturer has to be the TRD Hilux.

i'd hazard a guess that the yanks pay less for it on road than you guys.

what the... both of you settle the fuck down and go back to your corners, both of you have valid points... crude as the delivery may be. if you want great N/A performance... it better be rocking a S2000 engine or an LS1, 2 or 3.... or a couple of hybusa's... or at least an RB30DE... or maybe a VQ35DE or VQ37DE. however, just keep in mind that this section was created for N/A enthusiasts... whatever their reason for owning one may be. So "boost is better than N/A" is a stupid line of argument in here. plus no one likes their dreams or passions put down. Stick to rational discussions, cos hatin's not pretty.

eps... why... so... seriousss? well i'm actually doing the s2 clear glass from the ribbed projector headlights onto the S1 poverty spec non projector headlights... was gonna put up a DIY once I get the second set, which are on a ship on their way to oz atm. don't really mind if they don't fit exactly... i'm kinda handy with the plastic welder. the other way which a couple of guys on yahoo auctions do is they cut the front of the glass headlight off and replace it with either clear perspex or moulded glass... there's also a guy in malaysia who used the S13 Supermade clear covers http://shop.yumetenpo.jp/goods/d/super-mad...h13/index.shtml turn em the other way around and its a close fit (not exact though) you'd probably need to trim it. personally after seeing the milky yellow that the plastic clear indicators turn to after a couple of days in the sun, prefer good old glass when it comes to headlights.
-
hehe I'll post a blow by blow DIY once I get mine (they're in transit atm)

now that's dedication! Quality site indeed.

lol i'm just about to jump from 3 to optus... back in the day they were the only ones with caps. now everyone's doin em. their coverage is shit, and they've just released a press statement saying they'll be going from 50% coverage to the 80% that most other competitors enjoy in the coming years. till then, optus here i come

Welcome... if you like your silvias head down to "driftline racing" in campbellfield, melbourne... there's always a few to poke around at there, including a 180SX ute we're building, and I'm sure we can hook you up with some parts. we don't really have any performance parts retailers in aus that are of decent value like you do in the US or in japan (autobacs n the like). its pretty much a string of wreckers that have aftermarket bolt ons for sale. THe closest thing to a proper aftermarket retailer is probably JustJap in Sydney if you're visiting there. That said... Australia's got as many skylines running around as you guys have corvettes, so you should be able to get your hands on plenty of RB-specific spare parts and aftermarket parts on the cheap.

I can get you guys this one for $210 plus shipping (should be $10-$20). http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QM3782 Can't believe I missed this thread. I'm building a car PC too... using Aston Shell on XP for interface with hopefully a custom interface that's vertically mounted 10" touch screen friendly (will be hacking up my centre console cover). Gonna be using a couple of these puppies to power a micro ATX motherboard (thinking an ASUS AIO board) and accessories such as HDD and slim form DVDR. http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=XC4876 Might do another Jaycar group buy soon... I need to get some stuff too.
