well its an SPDT switch, and the white wire seems to go to a common ground, while the other two I'd guess go to power for 2 different chips with two different maps. throwing the switch selects which chip the ECU uses. also try these guys: http://www.in-tec.jp

i'm shooting in RAW mode... there's no compression at all. so the compression settings shouldn't affect it should it?

So i'm trying to get some quality pics with my Canon S3 IS, but no matter what ISO I use, and what lighting condition, the images always have artefacts or coloured noise in them. I've got the CHDK firmware mod on it which allows me to run scripts and shoot in RAW mode, so that should cancel the effects of JPG compression artefacts. Regardless of whether or not the hacked firmware is loaded it still gives me similar results.
