if rules allow for it maybe remove the rad support and front and rear reinforcement bars and replace with chromolly tubing. also maybe start drilling holes in flat non structural body panels and dimple die'ing it.
I use an OS Giken OS Giken STR2BD (which is not as harsh as a C apparently) twinplate in my daily. Its quite driveable in heavy traffic, and still gives enough grip for trackdays n the like. Regular clutches feel so shit now after using the twinny (not to mention my foot goes straight to the floor cos they don't give as much resistance). Although I'm kinda tired of people telling me there's something rattling on my car whenever I put the clutch in.
actually when i was last in thailand there were a few japanese guys there who were in hiding from the law or yakuza or something like that. might be someone like that who owns one don't get too comfy with it... they might chop ya
if you're gonna personal import something and invest money in it... make sure its:
a) unobtainable easily in australia
b) gonna command a higher price here than in japan (that's kinda easy, most of them do)
c) worth the hassle of importing
d) desirable enough to the australian public that they'll overlook the taboo of buying a grey/personal import.
anyone in the market for a merc or a beemer locally will just walk into a dealership and buy either of those.
considering HKS has an official R&D branch in Thailand, and Sepang International Circuit (where they have the F1 and JGTC rounds) isn't that far away, in addition to Nakornchaisri that's local, I'd say there's plenty of potential.
anywhere from a month to a year.
why not? its not like they lost out on sales with the S15. Initially the cost to bring in an S15 as an import was more than it cost to buy from Nissan Oz. Its only now that its a lot cheaper to import them. Care factor for Nissan Oz about resale value... nil.
not unless compliance is granted to a RAW.
collecting engineering data and registering a car are two very different and distant processes. it just means that the compliance process is under way. now begins the game of back and forthing with DOTARS.
oh... i didn't realise that it had those scoops on the sides... dammit. might have to cut them out and fibreglass them flat.
liking the AB style that carmate have better now tho:
