Supersize Me. Cost To Upsize To A Large?
CruiseLiner replied to qikstagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
u pretty much need a full smashed gtr with everything on the driveline complete, and then bolt everything onto the stagea, not worth it in the long run. the rb25's can still pull decent numbers, or if u want full on power then dont spend cash on the 25 only to sell it and start again on the rb26. the old saying " do it once, do it right" thats how i look at it anyways -

i wouldnt bet my life on it but i dare say 99.999% sure they are same as r33 brembo brakes. definately not the same as r34 ones unless they have same pads but different colour calipers. double check first to be 100% sure

hey cyrus nice wheels mate, looks sweet as, go try some others as well so i dont have to try any on mine to see what they look like as your car is almost identical

Supersize Me. Cost To Upsize To A Large?

ok work out prices... engine gearbox gtr diff and custom length axle on one side (use one gts4 axle on other side) r33 brembo brakes r33 handbrake lever assembly vacuum booster, master cylinder, slave cylinder, pedal box, pedal, console, gearstick surround, etc clutch to handle decent power ecu gtr cooler now to get any reasonable power for the outlay, u need to ditch the ceramic turbos and go for 2530s or something, plus bigger injectors, fuel pump upgrade, air box/air filter setup to suit. exhuast upgrade, and thats about all i can think of. i wouldnt buy a r32 engine at all nowdays. go r33 at the least as even they are getting high km's and read around the forums to see how many 100 000km gtr's are being rebuilt. my stagea with rb26, 5 speed and autronics smc, highflow turbos, twin plate clutch and around 350rwhp (on 18psi, rev limit of 7000rpm to be safe) cost over 40K (No labour costs at all) including the car (which was $18k ) and not including making money back from selling engine and stuff. go autech anyday of the week, save time, save money and have the real thing. thats from my first hand experience doing the entire conversion myself and not spending 1 cent on labour except dyno tuning (which wasnt in that 40k price) a manual rb26 stagea is alot different to a auto rb25, and i think its the gearbox selection more than anything. manual is rougher, and auto is smooth as silk in comparision. i wish i kept mine auto and rb25 now for daily use, but thats more the fact of the heavy and noisy twin plate clutch and the rough as hell idle and loud exhuast. i might be putting mine back to standard rb25 and even auto for daily use and put the rb26 into a track/drift r32 skyline or something. cheers Brad -

Installing Mechanical Water Temp Gauge
CruiseLiner replied to VLT020's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hey buddy u have to remove your original dash temp guage sender and put the autometer one in its place. its located on the top radiator hose outlet with a single wire plug coming off it, with a black/blue coloured wire. unscrew the stock one and put your new one in. if u want to use both u will need a y piece to screw in and then screw both senders into the y peice. also check the threads are the same on both senders, becuase from memory i dont think they are as autometer are american. hope it helps mate Brad -
anyone happen to have a copy of the ecu pin outs and what colour wires are what??? most important wires i need are the power feed and constant wires to power the ecu itself. and also the earth wires. cheers

Japanese Stagea Service Manuals
CruiseLiner replied to funkymonkey's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
yeyyy funkys back, i need the manual this week for wiring my power fc djetro for a rb26 into the stagea. fun times ahead, so who would put in for the wiring diagrams (ecu mainly) to be translated as it isnt cheap last time i tried finding someone to do it. ill be dealing with the wiring side of things for the next week so ill let u guys know if i work out all the pins for each things on the harness. thanks funky, atleast we know the manual will actually arrive -
i dont get the questions properly darren, the diff ratios have nothing to do with the manual conversion, and the transfer case doesnt have its own ratio or anything, the gears in the box do though, but the 4.3 diff gears in the stock stageas should be alot better than the gtr 4.11 gears for getting moving and pulling the extra weight. use a gtr 5 speed and tf case as they are nice and cheap these days at under $1k hope it makes sense

Anyone Interested In Embroidered Cargo Bay Carpets?

.....and a recliner lounge in the rear to match??? jk mate -
talk about tight fit thats tighter than it is with the rb26 in mine. it is recessed because the vacuum booster is pretty huge and it would stick out heaps more than those pics show

hey guys anyone weighed their stageas on a weightbridge by any chance? mine ages ago weighed in at 1800kg exactly with huge stereo and sub boxes etc in it with the rb26 engine/twin turbos/air con etc. weighed in today at 1690kg with the rb26 engine still, no stereo sub boxes and no air con gear, plus the big single turbo instead. oh and also having got the front tailshaft on at the moment. its got 2 sunroofs and the car was pretty packed with bits and pieces so im thinking under 1650kg is possible with the car spotless inside and complete interior wise. not as bad as i first thought compared to r33 gtr's and 34's. anyone know what they both weigh in at when stock? anyone else weighed there stageas without sunroofs to compare weights? and also one with 2wd instead to compare? cheers Brad

i seriously doubt the s2 pedal box will "bolt" in simply, the footbrake thing has some weird mounting spots and doesnt match the pedal box at all (going by my pedal box which is the gtr one i think). very simple job to bolt it in but, just weld one tab off one side of the box and make one of the original holes in the box abit bigger and it fits in almost perfectly using the factory bolts from the original footbrake setup. the pics in that link i said shows u how i mounted the box but they are alittle crammed under the dash to get any decent distant shots.
-
yep acetone is the best bet, if not try eucoliptise (sp? ) oil
-
pics dont seem to work for me. also i dont see why u cant just use the non-booster one from a series 2 stagea and get the pedal box etc to match the master cylinder length (also the series 2 stagea) dunno the difference in pedal feel but recessing the booster is a major job and as i've said i wouldnt attempt it with the motor in the car as its sooo tight around the area.

watch out for a certain workshop in perth with a 2wd dyno only but they attempt to run the stageas on it in 4wd for abit of smokin action PM if u want the details of the shop cause i would reccomend leaving your car as far from that shop as possible if u want it sorted and no other problems caused. ring Top Racing in Capel Crt i think it is in Bentley. awesome workshop and very helpful guys down there they have been doing stuff on my stagea and helping me heaps even though im doing all the installing of parts at home and they aint getting any money they still dont mind helping out with info. Steve will be tuning my power fc djetro very soon. he also has a 4wd dyno in the workshop (i think they got it now, or its a few days away if they dont). cheers Brad
