  1. anyone know the power ratings of all the different housings? the 0.63, 0.81, 1.0 and bigger? whats the hks 0.81 rated at in hp, and whats the most power anyone has seen from one on a rb26? stroker or not it doesnt matter, i just wanna see how far mine will go when i wind it up
  2. hey mate the comment by alexclim on the same engine as 3000gt is wrong, its a 2.5L not a 3L and i do know the 3000gt is pricey to modify as the turbos r tiny and are at their maximum power stock, which requires an upgrade straight away if u want abit more poke. so do these weigh lots or what? im not a fan of mistubishi's they are really crap quality in the lancers anyway, so i cant see the other models being much better. evo and 3000gt is all i would touch, and even they both have bad points about em.
  3. awesome mate look forward to seeing it r u still doing the unicorn symbol ? im still undecided if i want the symbol or not
  4. i gasket gooed on top of the paper gasket, extra safety as i didnt want the pump leaking, but i went way overboard and now im paying for it with having to rip it out and take sump off. finished assembling the transfer case tonight after putting my old stagea auto clutch pads into the gtr case as they are not worn hardly compared to the gtr original ones. ive rebuild the diff a couple of weeks ago, now the transfer case, and the engine too, just the gearbox left (nuthin wrong with it yet, but its not brand new cond) and the whole driveline is brand new this weekend ill get stuck in and sort most of it out and almost be cruising if all goes to plan
  5. if ya dipstick blows out its ya rings not sealing and creating pressure in the sump forcing the oil out of the dipstick hole. not cheap to sort out unfortunately may not be the problem but a possibility if the dipstick is blowing out.
  6. hey shmiddy i bet ya wish ya had 4wd now with that power haha, my rb26 in my old car (2wd) with 360rwhp was an absolute animal to control and smoked tyres from any speed, and ended up getting frustrating if ya tryin to race someone and they cain u with half the power cause im busy laying strips behind me thats the main reason i got the stagea, because its 4wd. now ill blow gearboxes instead u will be spending more on tyres than fuel hope to check it out in person in the future cheers Brad
  7. hey mate that 300zx is insane, i love it, looks even better in the flesh i seen ya parked at the motorplex drags a while back when the top fuelers were on, and me and my mate tooks photos of it and were drooling over it any modifications or stock engine? good luck with it, hope to catch ya on a cruise one day and check it out properly
  8. hey mate looks nice from that one pic, really classy i'd own one, but u got any more pics of modified or from the rear and side on? r they heavy like the stageas? evo driveline would be sweet if they dont weigh much.
  9. ive heard that works before from jayr33 i think his nickname was, he reckons it worked, though the 4wd light coming up on the dash doesnt mean its definately in 2wd and the clutch packs are disengaged, as it holds the pressure untill u bleed the nipple underneath as it has a non return valve setup unlike the r32 gtr's. it will only drive 2 wheels but will be trying to grab the front wheels and slowly burning the clutch pads. after a recent dyno run at a workshop they smoked the clutch packs from doing it wrong and i got the transfer case apart last night and all pads are wayyy thin, and i replaced the pads from my auto transfer case into the manual one and now its alot tighter and should operate better now pull the front tailshaft off is the easiest way, its under 5 min work with a couple of 12mm spanners and a 14mm spanner to remove the clutch slave off the gearbox to be able to pull the shaft out easily. no need to disconnect the clutch line or anything so clutch doesnt need to be bleed and just bolt it back on and way u go in 2wd safely
  10. mate i think its more the fact of common sense, y stinge on rods in a 650rwhp engine? forged rods aint expensive, and do u really wanna be pulling it down again cause its broken one ? i think u have saved money in the wrong area and the internals r more important than a better intercooler or stuff like that, cause that stuff can be changed later without hassle. each to their own, and good work as i said
  11. top racing also highly reccomended and most of the wa guys know how fussy i am about workshops john and steve and the guys are the most helpful shop ive dealt with and they actually have an understanding of the basics of a skyline and how to solve problems if they arise rather than sending u home to sort them yourself like some worshops did on many occasions
  12. 260rs has r33 gtr brembos, im pretty sure r34 ones are the same just painted gold (got me a set recently, they look sweeet)
  13. saw a red stagea with plates "STAGEA" on orrong road about 4pm yesterday, some older woman driving it with kids i think. stock as a rock
  14. 99.9% sure its fixed but i cant test it until i put it back in the car which is a pain it was a case of me getting excited with the gasket goo stuff on the oil pump gasket and blocked the outlet of the pump hole about 90% so yerrr stupid me it had oil pressure just very low compared to what it should be. ran perfect with lower pressure as i could only get upto 4k rpm, and we checked bearings again and they are perfect, and compression test shows exactly 170psi on every cylinder so no dramas in that department ive found a place to get the power fc djetro cheaper than anywhere in Perth and its also arriving in 5 workin days which is better than all the other shops 3-4 week wait. also getting some new transfer case clutchpacks after the smoking session on the dyno from a previous workshop (yes they know who they are) they are worn down heaps. $270 for 7 new clutchpads isnt too bad. need some splitfire coils, a boost controller (blitz sbc possibly), and its ready to run again, and then i need a Ross or ATI or OS Giken harmonic balancer for those trips over 9000rpm hopefully its all finished and tuned for the auto salon and then i can chuck it in the show and dyno comp and see what figures it can make. unsure if it will be on low boost (500rwhp) or maybe ill have time for the race tune on about 25psi+ cheers Brad
  15. r stock rods capable of over 650rwhp without failing??? awesome results none the less post dyno sheet how do u find the ati dampener? how much are they worth new? where to get em from? any details appreciated mate
  16. gimme a couple of days mate im busy as hell at work and then trying to get my motor back in again, damn the joys of modifying
  17. try a hks t51r i reckon, will make more power, for about 2 min
  18. the joys of engine building, engine out for build, engine in, engine out, and now engine back in car in 2 or so days. little bloody problems that require removal of the sump which is not fun but its all sorted hopefully and run in completed by the end of the easter weekend im hoping for. then i got a 3 weeks wait minimum on my new ecu. power fc djetro so thats a pain in the arse. no power tune till i get that. my builds the longest on record i reckon
  19. get the 4wd and u can do both 2wd with the front driveshaft out, and 4wd with it in. 2wd u only got 1 option to choose they are damn long and i wouldnt really even consider drifting in one unless for abit of fun one time, but not as a drift car or anything, plenty of wayy more suitable cars for that. i think the other way is to drift in 4wd with over 500rwhp which is what i wouldnt mind doing in the near future wouldnt make a bad video would it
  20. hey mate number 3 is what alex said. their is a cable running from the ignition barrel in the auto stageas to the gearshifter, its like a throttle cable pretty much and doesnt allow keys to come out unless its in P or N i think. to get it to work as if its in P or N all the time u need to get the cable and pull it tight and screw it down to something in the car under the centre console to keep the barrell always open for the key. its located directly near the gearshifter. give me a PM if you dont get my commments and ill take a photo of the cable and how ive set it up. number 4. the washer bottle is mounted under the gaurd on the drivers side and the 2 seperate window washer motors r in their and check they are workin correctly with a 12v battery, as they tend to seize up after a while. check for power on the wire leading to the washer motor when the button in the car is pressed as well to check wiring is fine. hope it helps cheers Brad
  21. how can they be sent and then not been sent all of a sudden?
  22. go the rb26 go for some low mount turbos, hks 2530s or garret gt2860r's (nice a responsive, bolt str8 on, look stock still) as the stock turbos r ceramic and dont like much boost. power fc ecu (either the air flow metered version or the djetro) new dump pipes, front pipes and exhuast and im sure over 300rwhp is possible with stock injectors/fuel pump upgrade to 550cc or 700cc injectors and a bigger fuel pump and over 400-500rwhp is pretty acheivable, though long term reliability is a worry on the 26 bottom ends depending on km's travelled and the tuners skills at avoiding detonation. i had 360rwhp in my stagea b4 and that was a bit of an animal and used to go damn hard. the cars excess weight (1800kg on weightbridge mine is) makes it abit slow off the mark. go the 260rs u wont be dissapointed
  23. i seen a black one with PHATT plates, looked mad, nice cream leather interior and mad rims.
  24. the blonde second from the left in the red biniki won it. didnt think they were too crash hot except the winner.
  25. haha dead right, i found more decent cars outside than inside with all the fwd n/a things, though simons gtr is definately the best in the show for sure, good job simon looks and sounds awesome
