hmm didn't realise that you could get the K&N oil filters easily here. I have seen some ok reviews regarding flow and filter ability form them, funny enough the stock jap ones got better results. Go OEM.

My Thursday is more exciting than normal. I resigned from my job on Monday...and they made me leave Tuesday on full pay for the next few weeks... So Thursday for me consists of... Checking the oil in my R33..cos I topped it up today Going down and getting breakfest from my fav. cafe and have a few coffees and read the latest Fast 4s some1 gave me today. Head into the city for a going awaya party for another person who left recenelty.. Free lunch from a vendor looking to butter me up before I start my new job. Meeting with my mate form Uni who has started his own business. I think he is looking for projects also... Then hooking up with Alan (saff_cossie), for another coffee. Then heading down to Port Melb to pick up some 2nd hand FTO bits from an ex-club memeber so I can ake a fully sick Ipod setup in my FTO... Then try and make it to the mini meet to see whats going on...lets hope I can make it. But if all goes to PLan, Alan and I will be drinking cos it will be hot as. Sums up my thursday. haha, I'm bored already.

Minor Service Major Snowball R33/rb25
khunjeng replied to Spoolemup's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hmmmmm 250rwkw is quite fast for the street. Currently I'm running about 250 and its damn fast, 1bar @ 3k - pulls all the way to the line.. I can keep up with the best of them when i get traction. So what did I add to the above to get it there? New turbo..custom...think of it as a highflow. FMIC Dump New 730CFM Hi-Flow Cat New zorst to the tips AFM PFC AVCR Spitfirepacks (cos my old ones were dead) new IX plugs cos i had them @1bar was running 250rwkw. Shitloads more everything, everywhere. What happened soon after? Clutch...fried Stock Suspension...couldn't hold it down Tyres/Wheels...not enough traction WHats happened next? Wheels : Work XT7s from J land. 18x9.5 on the rear fitted with 265s $4k all up Bilstien Shockers + Whiteline springs (like the SK Group Guy) - Setup by Centreline in melbourne. $3k all up inclufind some other bits and pieces. Twin PLate Push Button Clutch - cos I wanted grip but always wanted it to be as easy to drive as possible ~$2500 fitted with some other stuff. Whats happeing now... Running on the turbos max eff. of 1.3 bar. WIll run to about 290 I rekcon based on a run we did before the clutch was slipping on the initial tune with the new turbo...but in the end my aim was street speed...not max power so even if its 270 I'm not fussed. gets to 1.3 at about 3k like a stock turbo...lol lets just say it goes off the line..IMO max power is a bit of a wank factor to you mates and keybaord warriers when we talk about street driven cars, its all about response, quick spool and fast 0-100 for me...that was my aim. Overall, spent some money. This is with stock internals for the moment...wait until they need a replacement! IMO...u can get to 250 probably...but what R31Nismoid was saying...its more than just peak power, its response and the ability to drive the thing witht he power u have got. -
c ya there, with some passport photos for the GP forms.

you dont get the demerit points UNTIL the fine is paid. You cant get points taken off u until to are proven guility...the fine system is backwards and designed to speed up the process by just seeing if u will pay, admit guilt which requires no need for a legal case. but it backdates to the date of the infringement once paid. so you may delay it for a bit...but when it gets paid..points gone. Thats my understanding based on the recent reading I have done.
-
not true. I have done it myself, but u need the right equipment. I did it for legit reasons in a work enviroment...but I know how to do it, and I tell u, so do many other people out there.

I was going to do another one just cos I'm intrested to see if the numbers come out similar. Apart form that I've got a new batch of the 5W30 from Harold above and putting that in soon. Next is the r33. I have been using 10W40 redline but I have noticed a bit of oil usage, not to much. SO I asked the boys if they reckon a 30wt would help say seal the rings a bit better. So I'm giving that a go also...

lifter noise, dont stress. Does any1 know exactly what type of lifters the RB25 uses? i.e. hydrolic ones?
-
if u got an on the sopt u have the fine already. As stated above, courtesy letter will come some time after. Then it may take another 3 months for them to update ur points - from my experience. If ur going to contest, wait for the courtesy letter. Dunno why, but thats what my barrister says.

heaps of places to go. But I use RevZone in Nunawadding...use whitepages to suss them out. They will do it, think the are back next week. -
easy to chnage the IMEI if u know what ur doing. Or just send it O/S...its not big deal.
-
cant believe u let a guy into ur car mate...u could have been raped by big men just out of jail... u have balls to let him in ur car...lol
-
thanks.. I have been ordering from Harold @ (0414369 926) Performancelub.com. Might be the same guy as the products are the same and the price is also...I didn't realise he sold Castrol.. ! I have decided to stick with reldine for the moment, do some more tests and see what happens.

Si and all metals in my UOA are pretty high comparatively. Redline will give higher wear numbers at first due to cleaning values. So its only the first and hard to tell. But if u looked at it at a glance, it would be no great. I'm doing more soon on the line and and sample in the FTO.
-
its obvious if u have a big FMIC in a GTST...I've only done one but its right in the way. Mav was defect for this also I believe. In fact how does the reo run with the GTR is it the same? Myabe my FMIC is just too big..
-
we talked a lot about this little hole... what about those who have cut the Reo bar to fit the FMIC...hmmm now that should be more of an issue...

What Fuel Pressure ? 550cc ?
khunjeng replied to JapanDyno.com's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
For a street driven car I see no point if ur running say 250. I ran stockies for a while running about 260 and they did get over 85% but its only for a short time and doesn't happen often (with a 040 pump). I personally have 550cc ones in mine, they dont get much over 70%. generally sit at 40-45%... when they were stock...they average d about 65% makes sense...so unless u have a need i dont see the point. Spend the 600 bucks on something else. However if u want a FPR...just get the NISMO replacement one...its good I heard and is a direct replacement. -
mate if ur goal is to beat a V8...then u dont need to do much. Look for average power which gives u a good street response, none of this peak power stuff. Get better suspension setup, wheels/tyres or even just tyres Then work on driving it! Mine would do some seriously quick times if I could drive it... LOL
