  1. if its a good kit it should only take an hr after work. Thats when i did mine in my FTO...quite easy to install, awome results. The hardeest part is working out where to mount the balast IMO.
  2. I'II show u mine geoff in in a few days if I get the chance. I have mocked up a new snorkel to replace the stock one...the inlet will be much wider, nearly to the radiator cap. in addition the snorkle itself will be bigger to add some volume to the intake side. I was gonna make a new lid, but decided this was enough at this stage to keep it looking stock. But I new lid would be good also.
  3. this is just the harness. its not a loom or a direct bolt on. You still need to splice it into your stock loom The emanage is universal...
  4. dunno...not going for the weather mate. Canada is also on my cards...dad remarried a canadian chick recently who has a house in Vancoover who has been trubg to get me to go for ages...pitty I cant ski ! I have seen some picks...like NZ in many ways except no sheep
  5. I remmeber driving for 2 weeks around the south island in a CRV...was good fun. Had a great time even if I went with the mrs. NZ is an amazing place for photos...here u go...just a sample from Queenstown.. I was looking to go to Japan after i visit the folks in Thailand at easter this year. I'm trying to organise some guys to go..
  6. lol sorry talk of money easily turns into a dick fest. Read Rich Dad, Poor Dad. I think the first few chapters had some intresting comments about the 9-5 person. I'm not promoting the book or it ideas...but it made comments about working as a company man and money. And from my experience, I tend to think what he said was true. Then again I also think he is a good salesman.. anyway i think its the first few chapters..read it so many years ago.
  7. yeah for the track and more extreeme oil temps you will need a thicker oil. 60 is common. ' As them what oil they are using to break in ur engine. I have herrd or people using full syn. oil for new engines...not good to bed down those rings. Anyway back to the K&N oil filter stuff. I just pulled apart two jap filters, one a Nissan one and one for my Mitsi. They were of high construction, metal end plates and good silcon bypass value, as aposed to the rubber. Tey have a good number of pleats (not to many to restrict flow) and used a syn. filter...not paper. Which filters better. However I have done more more research on the K&N. Conclusion, its one of the better filters out there for filtration and flow. I will be using one on my next oil change, however I must say the OEM Nissans looked good also so there is no drama there IMO. Here are some links I read recently. http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/filters.shtml http://www.shoclub.com/lubrication-oil/lub...on-oilpart5.htm http://www.frankhunt.com/FRANK/corvette/ar...ters.html#avoid
  8. its the splicing of the wires that takes the time on the piggyback. Ive done it with a SAFC, cbf doing it again. the PFC fits straight into the stock loom. Tuning will be roughly the same, its all about time. If they are not used ot it it may take longer.
  9. thats basically the issue. And we (victoria) voted them in...again. Blame yourselfs. Jeff would have started numerous projects by now, sure his kick backs would have been his driver...but at least something would have happened by now.
  10. persoannly the more we talk the more it encourages these tools ...attention is what they are after and thats what they are getting.
  11. 1600 clear a week is achievable without putting yourself in danger and working long hours. Work smart, not hard is my motto.
  12. If ur loosing oil and its not leaking anywhere then its being burnt. Probably not enough to notice any smoke. I have been quoted from an SAE tech paper that 1qt every 1000miles is accetable However this has bee topic of discussion for some time. THerefore according to this u are within acceptable levels. From memory, the oil pressure should be about middle @ 3000 rpm normally (think thats 4) . If ur unsure wack on a new pressure guage and check it out. If ur using a 5W30...I would have thought that was perfect weight for a street driven car that gives great startup protection. I'm using a base 10W40 blended with 5W30 after some usage also.
  13. mate what are u on about? you come what happened to france and this? Its like comparing a R34GTR Ztune to a Toyota Celica with a flat tyre. A few people in a country of what..20,735,146 (yes thats the latest) get drunk and cause trouble and the country is in turmoil? do u see whats going on around the world? perspective please. This issue will be gone in 2 days. No1 cares about a few drunk people hooning about smashing a few windows and acting like idiots - have u been to the UK or even europe after a big football match? in reality is not the biggest issue facing the state/country/world today.
  14. Is the Ultimate a full ecu replacement? I cant remember I think it is. While the blue one is a piggyback.. The PFC takes no time to install...thats where your cost will be..and asusming ur tuner has the software for the tune, which he should. I had an emanage installed and a PFC...the emanage cost me more (blue basic one) as it took longer to install..tuned fine though.
  15. personally I'm not convinced of the pod style installs where they just sit in the bay. I have done this to a few cars an recently just returned them to stock which better filters and intake pipes. As long as an air filter and box is properly sized for an application, the lost airflow will be very minimal. I haves een some1 do actual testing but cant find the link. If ur worried build a new lid for ur stock box and feed more air into it with a new snorkel...looks stock. In fact thats what I'm doing.
  16. yeah was on the news. my mates gf was just telling me about it. She said the video footage of the Blockbuster stuff was pretty sad.
  17. do u have google? If ur gonna spend 600 bucks on coils...it might be a good idea to spent 2min looking them up. different models for different engines. pretty obvious really.
  18. people have had issues with direct mount pods like this...too much air at higher speeds. They needed to baffel it to stop issues at 80+ kmph. That being said..the gain ur gonna get..hmm not too much...stick with stock, get a decent filter, protect ur engine from crap and avoid another defect, oh an piss of they stupid whoosh sound..lol.
  19. yeah u should win this...in fact I would be suprised it goes to court at all. I put down $100 its dropped once they look at it...you might need to go on the day but once your sol. talks tot he cops they will not bother in court. But if they do, u have a strong chance. I would go with proper representation cos you wont need to pay for it in the end if you win.
  20. lol dont stress mate. Its only the start of a long career. Whats important is your experience and job at this stage, its what will set you up for the future. I have chatted to many Grads over the past 2-3 years in various industries and big companies. More recently I was talking to NAB grads (i guess in accounting) and they were quite proud of doing nothing an getting 50k for it. Problem is, and i've seen it many times already, they get bad habbits and generally they loose the desire to really do a good job, or the knowhow...they opt for the most common of approaches which is talk shit and bag others to get ahead.
  21. no. I run over 250rwkw. Wack in a hi-flow panel filter and u will be set. I was convinced that unless u have a sealed box...ur just wasting time. Mine was loud and annoying...also a cop magent...stock box is quiet...and stealth. I use a Trust Panel filter...works a treat. Dunno how much they cost but a K&N would also be fine. Although I'm designing a new snorkel for the stock box...we be finished in a few weeks...will post pics. But its runnign fine as is right now. KJ
  22. they are all a bunch of ghey tossers. I suggest we send in a group of elite Ninjas and have them taken out. Just a suggestion. Let me know
  23. yay I'm 30 in 6 months...bring it on. I will tell my wife its a must have present! $500 bucks...souds good to me...I'm gonna but this one down as a must do for 2007.
  24. yeah for breaking in an engine I guess u were using some mineral oil...good to make a few quick chnanges as u suggested. Good info on the K&N. I might get myself one and try it out as I'm doing a oil chnage soon also. How much oil u buring? rings not sealing? oil to thick? some oil usage is acceptable.
  25. Lol Funky... Yeah we rocked up, she looked at her watch and it was all over... Chris. - Gunmetal r33 gtst with the bling WORK rims... Nice ot meet u all.
