Rb25det NEO > Rb26 > Rb25det ^^ thats what I think about unopened standard engines.

[Closed] Borg Warner Efr Series Turbos
hypergear replied to Lithium's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Those modifications would be handy for some of the Bush bearing BW S300SX fans. -
BB improves throttle response and maximises boost response, so the turbo makes more boost with lower rpm. Yes can use different housings depending on size of wheel used. There is about 6 hours of engineering work required making up all the little collars, spacers, as well as modifying the bearing housing and re-grind the shaft, everything needs to be done perfect for this to work, its not a quick easy job. This particular one cost $1400 to do thats including the BB upgrade as well the supplying the comp wheel and comp housing. For a Normal Garrett T3x and T4x based turbocharger in working condition with housings supplied, it will cost $650 to carry out. Holset or BW medium / large frame like the one above again in working condition with housings supplied will cost $1000 to carry out.

This is quite interesting of a job so I post. It is high flowing and converting a bush bearing BorgWarner S300 series Turbochargers to ceramic ball bearings. ATR45SS compressor is used with a matching .70 compressor housing along with original S300 turbine wheel and housing.

What turbo upgrade for rb25 in gu patrol
hypergear replied to Gu rb25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
For your application might not necessarily have to build an Rb30det, we can high flow your factory turbo to meet your goal. and it will be very responsive for the power it makes. -
RB26 GTX Cores in factory housings best choice?
hypergear replied to RB335's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My experience high flowing Twin GTR turbos internally gated is the turbos has issues dumping back pressure through a 3 or 3.5 inches exhaust. -5 on stock cams is very laggy, without been able to dump back pressure, fancy billet wheels can not run into their peek efficiencies. I've personally used -9 specs in my own GTR, pretty happy with that and thats recommended for road and track use. -
Updating with two more results: ATR43G3SAT externally gated on E85 fuel, stock engine with supporting mods Awesome drifting video from this car. Can anyone please advise of how to insert Youtube media into post please (like dyno run video above). R33 GTST 312rwkw E85 Flexfuel.mp4 Also pretty decent power on P98 fuel. Running off an Rb30det with 264 / 272 cams using one of our custom made ATR45 turbochargers. 418rwkws @ 18psi drift.mp4

RB25, possible VCT issue?
hypergear replied to MatthewT85's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Check and make sure the internal gate is 3mms preloaded. With active vct, you should hear a click on throttle movement -
More result from our 21U G3 profiled turbocharger, 312rwkws @ 19psi. E85 fuel. R33 GTST 312rwkw E85 Flexfuel.mp4

So you can run four turbos on it

Can high flow your stock neo turbo to reach around the 270rwkws region on P98 fuel while making full boost around 3800RPM. Or standard high flow made to suit factory injectors and ecu is also available, it will supporting up to 240rwkws on P98 fuel, close to factory turbo's response.

R33 GTST. The ebay high flow failed and it was brought high flowed for the 2nd time. No hardware apart from the turbo has been changed.
-
Result sent in by one of our high flowed 21U R33 turbocharger's customer. Car made 271rwkws @ 19psi P98 fuel, Vs an Ebay purchased high flow replacement.

those two above from Cory are not. I dont use this types of wheel configurations. Current version has a different iwg assembly.
-
Even there is no VCT I should still can engineer an ceramic BB turbo to reach 200rwkws @ 4000RPM that makes over 340rwkws on E85 fuel. Below is result from Jason's 1JZ None VVTI engine running inside a R31 wagon. car made 340rwkws on 23psi externally gated, 200kws @ 4000RPM: Video taken from last week Calder raceway. Chasing Manuel's yellow R33 GTST, Excellent battle footage of ATR43 G3SAT 1J VS SS2 RB.

There is an custom version made for SR running in .64 rear housing. I'm in the process of engineering an ceramic ball bearing chra to suit an short T2x shaft and bearing housing, which also means all the TD06 can be converted using the same ball bearing assembly to improve throttle response. I'm considering of doing one more round of SR20det development with a stock standard motor, hunting for the right car at current stage also.

SL205 VS TD06 SL2 -20G. This was taken from Scotty's WTAC car, before and after turbo upgrade:

ATR43G3SAT is a very different turbo to the standard G3 with different wheels and housings all together. Dyno reading shown it is more responsive then a GT3076 or any kinds of a TD06. Below is CBB version, internally gated, on stock manifold, P98 fuel built as a bolton turbo. I have trailed many other prototypes in similar kind and this particular one is the far best. Other thing worth mentioning is Tomei cams on RB25det didn't do much good part from adding 250RPM worth of laggier, which I ended up converting it back to stock. and still made 431rwkws.
-
ATR43G3SAT in Ceramic ball bearing is the most responsive one out of all. The TD06SL205 in 10cm is the next and ATR43SS3 is the least, but how ever made the most power.

Some videos from last weekend. This is 1JZGTE none vvti engine powered R31 Wagon running our ATR43G3SAT Ceramic ball bearing turbocharger making 330rwkrws on E85 fuel. Car Owned and Driven by Jason F.

I'm making 336rwkws on P98 fuel internally gated with exhaust dropped @ 22psi with the same turbo on stock cams, it is capable of making alot more then 300rwkws on P98 fuel with stock cams. There is a simple way of checking to see what you need. Take it back to the tuner to do a simple dyno run with exhaust dropped and do a pressure check across the cooler when its at full boost (check my thread). Also if you are running the JJR's 6 bolt Nissan front pipe, make sure the 6 bolt flange is die-grinded to suit factory dump pipe gasket. If its showing its holding alot more boost that mades more power with dropped exhaust it means some thing in the exhaust is restrictive. Or if seeing 30psi before the cooler and 20psi after you will need a bigger cooler. Having the bigger cams without the system been able to flow that extra bit of air, it will make absolutely no differences to peek power.
-
its waste of money on mine. just get bigger turbo and more boost. and get better cooler and exbaust.
-
The 21U is already super responsive in bush, there is no reasons to make it ball bearings as I've already trailed and compared. for R34GTT the best result I've trailed was G3 high flow using CBB cartridge with high pressure actuator.

Re-highflowed one of blown Ebay's Highflowed OP6 turbocharger with one of our G3SAT Ceramic Ball bearing CHRA, Did a actuation test using their billet casing actatuors supplied. Appears some "pretty looking" parts does not work as well as how they they looked. That billet 38mm internal gate is part of our G3 high flow profile, not what originally came with the turbo. Photo one shown full actuator travel using ebay's actuator. Photo two shown full actuator travel using one of our standard 14psi actuator.
