  5. how much do you know? if given a wideband right now, and you went out to start tuning, what would you do?
  6. is that knock reading scaled similar to a power fc? ie: too much knock on that run, or was that after a full tune and ok to thrash daily?
  7. well i'm not a 'rider' but i have riden, and looking at it as a future prospect. my mates got a 2008 zx2r (the 250 ninja, i think its zx2r) and, it really wasnt that impressive. so i wouldnt go buying a sports bike for its 'performance'. that said i dont have a lid so wasnt going too hard, and imma big fat c*nt too.... still nothing special i was personally looking at the 650 hyosungs. should have a much more firendly torque curve, are legal on your L's, there is a verys imple mod to the carby to crank it up (its been choked back to be L plate legal) and with an aftermarket exhaust, that vtwin rumble is cream worthy

  19. most dynos just use a ramp rate, a given speed that it will let the car accelerate, and use eddy current resistors (i think) to oppose the torque from your wheels, therfor, load is generated. as a general rule, most tuners use 1:1 ratio (4th gear in just about every 5 speed manual), so you should set the ramp rate similar to what the car accelerates on the street in 4th gear... although most tuners will just use the same rate on every car, and maybe give it a long, slow, hard run to redline after they're finished to check everything is ok point is, dynos do generate load, and can generate alot more than your car will ever see, dynos can load up your car, as much, or as little as you want, and at any given load/rpm thats for like dynodynamics and things like that, not american mustang dynos, which just use a big heavy roller and measure the time it takes to spin it up. *might be thinking of another brand*
  20. i think we should focus in idiots with GTR badges and then complain about holdens with chev badges. sounds a bit hypocritical dont you think?
  21. the problem with street tuning is getting an accurate figure of torque. any half decent tuner with aim for 'MBT', you cant find that without an accurate torque figure, alot of street tunes involve pushing the motor till it knocks, then just winding it back a few degrees, which isnt the 'right' way to tune. yes you can measure time against revs, but you will find alot of variables on the street as R31nismoid said, which will skew your time vs revs graph. alot of tuners also will hit knock, take it back a bit, thats it. on a dyno, you can tune everywhere, not just high load/high revs, and your car will make more power everywhere as a result. PS - if you cant handle 5000rpm on the street your a girl only jk
  22. ^ read post #4 again, then think about the relevance of 'legalities' in this case
  23. in that case, decat and find what mix works best for u
