  1. oh and the 400d doesn't have IS as far as i can tell. unless it is part of the lense, because there is nothing in the manual about it.
  2. well i will drag the camera out tonight if it isn't raining and have a play around and see how they turn out.
  3. anyone looking at a s2 wheel for an s1 may also want to look at a steering wheel from a n15 SSS pulsar as they look identical to the r33 s2 wheel. and i would guess that the spindle size would be the same too, but can't confirm this.
  4. ISO 100 f4 8 second shutter 27mm focal length ISO 1600 f4 4 second shutter 27mm focal length these pictures were taken within about 30 seconds of each other, the darker one first. the second pic pretty much shows how dark it was actually when the picture was taken. it may have been a touch darker. when all those other pics i posted up were taken it was much much darker than in these pictures. so remembering that having the apeture at 8 would've made the first picture even darker than it is wouldn't mean a shutter speed of close to 30 seconds to get a picture anything like the second one. since on ISO 100 it already had twice the shutter time and was still much darker. and your picture had a shutter time of 32 seconds, but you had a shorter focal length, but were also taking pictures of bright lites. we were taking pictures of lightning where you were only seeing the light reflecting off the clouds. there were no visible strikes. and the only lights were a street light and a car going past.
  5. i just looked through the pics we took earlier. we took some pics while it wasn't as dark with it on 100 ISO and f4 and they were pretty dark. i will post some up in a second. so sorry to say, using your settings the pictures would've turned out like shit without having a 30 second shutter time. and i have ordered a shutter release cable. now i am trying to track down an AC adapter cable so that i don't have to use the battery when i have it plugged into the computer.
  6. i didn't take these pictures, the missus did. haven't been edited either. camera is a canon 400d with the standard 18-55 lense or whatever the shorter lense is that comes in the twin lense kit.
  7. could be something simple like failing battery or worn plugs (or even wrong heat range plugs)
  8. it's too slow to be him, LOL. if it was him every car would be lapping well under 1 minute, LOL
  9. how cool did it look when murph slid the car through the chicane towards the end of his lap!
  10. well skaife hasn't actually retired yet. he retires at the end of the year, so he would still have all his v8 commitments. plus it doesn't look tall enough to be him.
  11. if you put a pod on you will hear the turbo and stock BOV much more. even if you just remove the cold air duct from the airbox you will hear it more.
  12. the simple answer is........ money. they aren't building cars for the average family, who car about fuel economy, etc. they are building cars for rich pricks who will service the cars when they should, and don't really drive them every day of the week (although some would). but now the gt3 has ceased production (probably because they weren't selling enough turbos). but i am glad that they replaced it with the gt2, a car that, even without the extra power over the turbo, would out perform the turbo due to being lighter than the turbo due to not being 4wd. i'm pretty sure that around a race track the gt3 is quicker than the 911 turbo
  13. well there is only 2 week left before sbs air season 11 of UKTG, so that is 1 episode of this dribble before we get a decent program back.
  14. well you have to take into account that the gt2 is much lighter (145kg) and more powerful (37kw more) than the 911 turbo (and did you see the size of the feet on the back of it!!!), and comes standard with carbon brakes and is only rwd (so doesn't understeer quite as much as the turbo), so it was always going to hammer the 911 turbo round the track. and the gtr was speed limited, so until they can test 1 without speed limiting we won't know how they compare, on that track at least. but didn't the guy doing the test of the gtr say that the one he was driving wasn't speed limited? if so, why didn't they put that 1 round the track?
  15. i was getting water temps of about 90 in my skyline, even on the highway. new thermostat didn't help. i think the water pump was probably the cause of the problems (was getting close to 100,000kms service). don't have the car anymore so don't really know or care.
  16. you could just get a bit of plastic or foam to wedge in and hold it tight.
  17. for the weight, why not open the owners manual and see what weight they recommend and then use the closest to that that you can find. unless you are planning on racing it what they recommend is going to better for it than what you are guessing it should run.
  18. could i just ask, how many litres are you calling a tank? this is something that shits me about most people that ask for advice on fuel economy. they will say a tank and not how many litres they actually used. so if you have a slightly dicky fuel gauge your economy could be 20 or 30% better than you think. so either state how many litres you are using to go that many kms, or actually work out your economy like DLOOOK did.
  19. can't upload a timeslip in the timeslips section
  20. well that stuffs up half the pm i sent, LOL and i have some brake pads here that could help with that.
  21. well you could go a flat bar road bike, but they don't have disc brakes. otherwise i...... will send you a pm.
  22. otherwise you might have to think about kicking her to the kerb and finding yourself someone nicer.
  23. another +11ty billion for the pill. cherie changed pills and it turned her into a mental bitch. she changed back to her old pill and she is back to her normal bitchy self, instead of a demon from hell (or the ice queen as i called her), LOL.
  24. if you do a burnout with a non lsd car on grass it may still spin both wheels. even on cement it may still spin both wheels. my old falcon had an open centre diff and i did a burnout on the driveway and it spun both wheels. the most reliable way to check is to jack up the back wheels and turn 1 wheel. if the other wheel turns the same way as the wheel you are turning then it is an LSD, if it turns the opposite way then it is open centre.
  25. the average age is still in the late teens and early 20's. not exactly 'older'. we still have 16 year olds coming on here asking what to look out for when buying a gtr as a first car. it is more tame because the moderators keep it that way. not because of the age.
