my sister-ini-laws boyfriend is running 12psi through his and is getting 223kw on a base tune. that is with stock exhaust though. a mate is making about 310kw at 15psi on stock turbo, but he has had a rebuild. before he got the 3 speed gearbox put in if he punched it at 120kmh, when it dropped back to 3rd gear the traction control would kick in. as for the chirping between gears, that also depends on what tyres he is running. if he is running a good set of 265s on the rear then they are going to be a bit harder to spin than a crappy set of 235s.

luckily there was only about 6 of us on the bus .the whole flying bit was fun, the landing not so fun. i landed like "greatest american hero".

wat solenoid are we talking about? the boost solenoid? are you wanting to use it to boost from say 20psi up to 22psi?

for me it isn't the cost of the gear, it's the 6 hour drive (3 each way) and the cost of fuel, and then spending all that time and money to get half a dozen runs down the strip. so basically for my it is about $95 and 6 hours driving to do 90 seconds of track time over a 4 hour period at the track. and then they don't have test and tunes every weekend, and i can't go on wednesday nights cause i wouldn't get there till they are just about to finish up, so that would be $95 and 6 hours to possibly not even get a chance to run. if it was just down the road i'd be lining up before they opened and they would have to kick me out at night. but then i don't go out and try to race every car i see either. i will just fang it a bit every now and then. but i also have a thing against old drivers that shouldn't be on the road. my mate's dad was killed on a motorbike when an old guy pulled out from an intersection without looking. he wasn't speeding, and never did. he was a fireman and had seen enough accidents to know the outcome. the old guy just didn't look. and i have nearly hit a few old ladies that pull out of the shopping centre carparks onto the road without looking. and when i was a school i saw an old guy drive straight through a stop sign at 40kmh (was in the school zone) and into the path of a bus. luckily the bus was slowing down to turn, but still smashed the car up pretty good. luckily no-one was hurt. and i have been on a bus that an old guy didn't give way to. i was sitting in the middle of the back seat and went flying down the isle. i ended up about 1/2 way down the bus.

send it away to GCG to get it highflowed. should only take a few days, cost under 2k and will bolt straight back up.

the emanage ultimate unit itself should be about 800-900. and unless you are currently using the emanage blue those 1 of those part numbers won't be needed, and unless you are planning on wiring it in yourself you won't need the other one, you'd just get the plug and play harness. 15500501 = emanage ultimate unit 15921506 = plug and play harness, just needs 2 wires changed over for the r33. then if you want to remove the afm you also need a map sensor and sensor adaptor. -
and the cops go off the lowest point of the car, so in your case the exhaust. so you need to raise it up to 10cm. also if you have any zipties hanging down cut them short cause it they want to be a prick they can use that as the lowest point.

the middle and rear mufflers add a fair bit of restriction. if you ever cut 1 open you will see what i mean. they don't just flow straight through. they do a big S bend through the centre. the rear muffler is less restrictive. the cat isn't that restrictive, neither is the front/dump pipe. they still add restriction, but not as much as the rear system. as for mufflers, you don't need a big shiney stainless cannon. ou can just get a 3" oval muffler. they will make the car quieter. companies like lukey and x-force sell 3" oval mufflers pretty cheap, and they work better than a cannon at reducing noise.

the popping you are getting is probably due to your spark plugs and coils not being able to cope with the extra boost. how old are your spark plugs? what heat range and gap are they? the stalling caused by an atmo bov is made worse when your spark plugs are worn. i had the stalling issue on my stock bov cause my spark plugs were shot. try a new set of plugs and that should help with the popping up high in the revs, and may help a bit with the stalling. i'd say your bov is probably also leaking. it may need the spring tension wound up a bit to stop it opening when driving at low load where it may be still under vacuum.

well captain cumstain, i don't live in the city so i couldn't go down george street, but considering that there are a shitload of commodores out there i don't think it would be too hard to have 2 next to each other at the lights. secondly, the damage isn't actually that bad. if they had been going much faster the cars would have disintergrated. i have seen a few cars that have been in high speed accidents and they looked a hell of a lot worse than that. thirdly, old people are frail. they can get killed much easier than a younger person, especially when the car is hit from the side. now i am not saying that they weren't speeding. i'm saying they may not have been racing. sure they may have been speeding, but does that mean they were racing? but at the end of the day, if the old lady pulled out in front of them and they still hit that hard they must've been close to the intersection when she pulled out. even travelling at 100kmh it takes you 4 seconds to travel 100m (as opposed to about 6 seconds at 60kmh). and the impact point on the camry was only on the nose so she must've pulled out just as they were entering the intersection. so at a guess (not taking into account the ability to brake earlier) if we assume that they were going 100kmh, if they were only going 60kmh the old lady would've been hit in the rear quarter of her car by the silver commodore.
-
i'd say there is every chance that the old lady was to blame and the commodores weren't racing. the police just assume that because both commodores were side by side that they were racing. how many times you you been driving through the city and had another car next to you? and the driver of the third car has come foward.

otherwise go see an exhaust shop. they should be able to get something. if they can't find a better exhaust shop.

removing the turbo on a turbo car will make it more gutless than a natro one. they run lower compression than the NA do account for the extra boost that the turbo puts in. and to change the compression you would have to rebuild the motor.

as far as i know the r34 has constantly varying cam timing. i don't know if it is possible to check, but i'd say that if it wasn't it wouldn't drive as well as one that was.

unless you are talking a gtr or a fairly modded gtst they won't out accelerate a turbo xr. if you honestly think that you need to spend more time at the drag strip. and as for handling, have you driven one? if not, then what are you basing it off? or have you driven an early e series falcon and are basing it off that? i know round where i live, where the roads are crap and rough, they would out handle a skyline cause they soak up the bumps beter.

i'd tell the insurance company you have fitted it. that way you should be safe from that point of view.
-
the 1 main thing that would stop me from owning a soarer is the digital dash.
-
i just thought that the 30 and 35 was just the family of turbo they were. like a 3071 is a gt30 turbo.

ban young drivers from driving commodores!!!

Im Curious Whats Your Vacume?on Idle
mad082 replied to cosworth1971's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
mine used to sit at about 20 vacuum at idle, and on decel it would go to about 25. -
the xr6t currently run 6psi. the new f6 are going to be running about 11psi. the current f6 run about 9.5psi. my brother in law has a ba xr6t. his made 248hp (185kw) at the wheels (100% stock). he has put a flash tune in (just an of the shelf one, not tuned specifically for his car.... yet) and pumped it up to 12psi and got 299.3hp (223kw). that is with standard exhaust, standard airbox and filter, and standard intercooler. he going to get a new airbox, intercooler and injectors and get the tune done for his car. also the sound of the big six hitting the traction control is awesome. a mate of mine has a xr6t. he has spent a fair bit of money on it (it developed an electrical problem when number 1 piston came out and destroyed the alternator). he had a full forge rebuild, c4 gearbox, and now he needs the diff done. on a light tune on the stock turbo at 18psi he made about 410hp (305kw). as for the hsv gts-r i didn't think holden had decided if it was actually going to make it yet. and it takes them 7.0L to get 365kw. they have to use big cubes to get the power. atleast ford is getting 320kw out of only a 5.4L

well of course the soarer is faster than a 32. they are the slowest of the skylines out of the r32-r34's. soarers without work are in no way quicker than an equally modded r33 or r34. i have been up against a few. the manuals might be very close, but good luck finding one.
