  1. the commodore coils run a wasted spark system. so it fires on both the compression stroke and the exhaust stroke.
  2. the spring tight will mean that ir release very little air, and pretty much no air at low load. what mods do you have? if you only have light mods then set it softer.
  3. you could always try and get yourself a set of 300zx rims. they are about a 7.5" rim, so you could run 225/50/16s and not worry about flex. you would also have to take into account what the track is like. if it is rough the smaller sidewall of these tyres is going to make it rougher, and it will alter your gearing slightly, since the stock size has a higher profile, at 55. at the end of the day tyre compund is going to have the biggest affect on grip. if you get a set of hard tyres they won't grip as well as a set of sticky tyres. a set of 195 semi slicks will out perform crappy, hard 245's.
  4. the 2 things i would look at are: 1, when the wastegate is open is the air still able to flow past it. the wastegate may be opening without fouling, but it may be blocking the path of the air through the wastegate pipe of the dump pipe. 2, chech where the wastegate pipe blends back into the dump pipe. the one i had the pipe was welded off to the side of the hole. it didn't leak but when you looked at it from the inside half of the hole was covered. so i got the die grinder out and opened the hole up. i had to take a section out about 4cm x 0.7cm.
  5. yeah a lube spray may help, but if it is really siezed you may need to add a hammer and punch to the equation.
  6. thought so. my mate has run a few .400s at willowbank. he used to have a NA r31 (still single cam) and got down to the high 13's.
  7. depending on how siezed it is. you may be able to get it unstuck, you may not. if you already have the turbosmart one, just put it on.
  8. i think with every turbo you will find atleast 1 person that has something bad to say, even if it is a hks or garret, etc. the better stuff will just have less people that have had a bad experience. i think the flow problem with the kkr turbos would be because of the v-band housing.
  9. i'd say you would be better off with the map sensor kit for the emanage. i'd say you will be maxing out the afm at 250kw even if it is a z32
  10. that looks like it should work. i'd say the piston is probably siezed in it.
  11. another option is to get a kkr turbo. they are cheap and seem to be ok quality. they are only bush bearing but so are the slide ones. if you want ball bearing then either go gcg or an aftermarket turbo.
  12. is it going to be for track drag use? if yes then go the 225's. is street/track then go 205's or 215's. i ran 225's on my stock 33 wheels and didn't really notice a difference. they gripped a bit better and didn't really notice any sidewall flex when cornering, but that was only street use.
  13. i want one of the new f6's!!! they look tuff! http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...ArticleID=41675 and
  14. at willowbank a perfect reaction time is 0.400 cause it starts timing when the last amber light goes off. this is taken from the willowbank raceway website
  15. it looks like both vacuum hoses are going to the bov, which could be why it isn't working. i'd take it off and try and move the bov with your hand to see if it is seized up.
  16. i don't think the r33 even learns at all. resetting it will clear any errors. not every ecu will actually learn driving styles. i haven't ever heard anything about the r33 having an adaptive learning ecu.
  17. 96 is series 2, so you will just have to check the setting of the ignition voltage.
  18. probably to plug up the stock recirculation hose.
  19. the unit is only a few months old. basically around when i started posting in this thread. i'll give it a try over the weekend. i can't remember what i have it setup for. i know i can get the water temp working. would that be my problem?
  20. there is also one of a 180sx ute that has been floating around for a few years.
  21. i cant even get it to let me see anything.
  22. and what is that? i can't get it to work.
  23. is it just the muffler or a full system? either way it will be louder. if it is the full system you may lose low end power, and not gain any top end power unless you have removed the limiter and now rev to 15,000rpm.
  24. extreme repost. that video has been around for years.
  25. but doing it to the actuator would open the wastegate earlier rather than later. if you squashed it too far you would actually open the wastegate slightly.
