This is a great call, this guy is a cock! I think he's trying to score a fast buck from a novice enthusiast. Tell him to Koff. Cheers, D -

A wrecker will have fairly good lower control arms and a guy on ebay sells them for $140.00 each and Rare Spares sells the idler arm assembly complete ... new! Cheers, D -
Some technology to prevent stupidity would be nice. The more technology that overides the mental capacity of a driver creates compacency and that leads to trouble. I drive coaches part time and they are making things "under the guise of safety" to make the rigours of day to day route driving easier. Now! when a bus or coach comes to a stop and the door is opened, the maxi brakes are instantly applied and similarly, when the door closes they are released unless of course they are manually applied. Recently a Busabout driver in West Hoxton Sydney, parked his bus on the side of the road outside his depot and opened the door to get out. After he got out he walked around the front of the bus and put his hand through the window to close/release the door, but guess what? the maxis or park brake had only been on because the door was open. He walked away and within 15 minutes the bus was parked, rear first inside Hoxton Park/Austral Post Office about 200m down and across the road. That's technology for you, makes us very reliant on it and in this case, could have caused a loss of life. And you don't get much change out of half a mill for a new bus. Cheers, D

I need a pair of 16 x 8's to put on my Cressida when I take it to WSID. That's why I asked the question. Next, does anyone have them for me to try in Sydney? Cheers, D
-
Got to agree here. I know a sheila that will drive around for hours to find a space she can drive into rather than reverse park. They have to do it to get a license so what happens to that skill afterwards. Cheers, D

Do any R32 or 33 Skylines come out with stock wheels that are 5 stud 16 x 8 with offset of plus 38/50mm

I got a set of 6 RX7 460cc injectors for less than $300 and they cleaned and tested fine. All up including testing and new seals it was about $450.00 from a Mazda wrecker in Revesby NSW. Cheers, D

Have you ever thought it's you George???? You ask some of the most stupid questions. Maybe, just maybe nobody has broken the manifold stud at #6 here in Oz, because I sure haven't in all the years I have been playing with these cars. I would think common sense would tell you, maybe a good look under the bonnet might give you the most probable answer to your question. As for useless, I think that's a bit harsh, because you forget, HybridZ is an L6 series specialist forum, where SAU and L6 engine specialists would be very short on the ground. I know if I want to know anything specific about L6 engines, I don't ask them on SAU, I go direct to the best source HybridZ. The L6 engine is growing less and less popular and only the diehard purists want to stay with them. Did you ever think to ask NDSOC Forum the question? bet you didn't?? but you can criticise SAU without reservation. Cheers, D

What specs are on the L28 and where are you??? I need block casting number (find this near the sump mounting face just behind left engine mount) and head casting number (find this near head face between plugs 1 & 2) Cheers, D

Red Ps + 17years Old + Speeding Record + Skyline =?
Ghostrider replied to GTR Power's topic in General Automotive Discussion
SK, A graduated license in NSW will NEVER happen, not whilst forever your bum points to the ground, it will never happen. You might ask why? Well this old fart remembers a certain liberal premier "Bob Askin" that tried talking this line in parliament, back when you could bet your life that at least 100 per month would die on NSW roads. The graded or graduated license was forgotten for 1 major reason, all the old biddies that owned RR's, Bentley's, Mercs etc etc etc could not qualify for the grade needed to drive them and it's those people that finance governments & elections. The present debate over P licenses dying on our roads is something I know not how to fix, but the young driver's attitudes and mind sets have to change first. And Cheeky, It can't happen! In NSW P license driver's cannot drive or own a turbo vehicle, so the Stagea idea, is out the door. Cheers, D -

Have you bought a house in the past 5 years??????? I have and it's worth less today than the day I bought it, so in today's economic climate, you don't know what your talking about. Cheers, D -

Personalised Number Plates
Ghostrider replied to Cheeky_Nympho's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I have applied for 2 custom plates in NSW and both went 4 weeks into the process before they were cancelled. 24NIK8 and FKY002 They said they were obscene??? Can't imagine why! My latest try is now 3 weeks into the process so I'm waiting with baited breath. Cheers, D -
Thanks for that. Makes an interesting read. Another point, by that key it makes all 3 virtually the same so why do they have all 3 in their range. Cheers, D

Ghostrider replied to GTR Power's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Sorry guys! But read his opening post, he's 17, had a license since March 06 and he get's it back on December 23. That means he has the grand total of 4 months driving experience and already he has had his license cancelled for 6 months. He says he has learnt by his error and HE IS BUYING AN R34???? HE IS A DICKHEAD, WILL ALWAYS BE A DICKHEAD and nobody here will convince him he's not. I just got back from Queensland, I went up to see a mate and chat to the Qld Stagea guys. They met in the Broadwater Carpark opposite Australia Fair. On the ground was fresh evidence of dickhead hoon drivers from the nights before. After a few discreet enquiries I found that THE MOST HATED VEHICLE IN QLD was a turbo Nissan and in particular S13/14's as they can be bought for $7/8000.00 and all the P platers buy them and become INSTANT idiots behind the wheel. IF this person has learnt his lesson and changed from the DICKHEAD label he put on himself, why is he buying an R34 and staying in the eyes of the law. Why isn't he buying something a little less conspicuous until he has some good experience and gets past his P's. If he bought something smaller & cheaper he wouldn't be asking the question about insurance because he would get coverage by the biggies at a fair price. He comes across as being a typical 17 yo P license of today, knows everything and has a bag full of dollars to prove it. Cheers, D -
I don't venture into these pages very often, but this is more than just a classic issue. How do we know the difference between NGK or Denso Iridium Spark Plugs? Does anyone know for sure?? The difference between NGK BPR6EIX-11, BCPR6EIX-11 and BKR6EIX-11 and Denso IK20, IQ20 and IW20. They are identical in heat range, so what does the different part numbers represent. Cheers, D

Sorry, but I personally think it looks FUGLY. Would be a whole lot nicer if the width continued right through the length of the body, but it just looks like add on bumps. Cheers, D

Be careful boys & girls, the L series turbo's require a matched set if your using standard bits. The AFM & ECU both have to come from the same model, preferably the same car, but that's not so specific. Likewise L28ET AFM & ECU also have to be a matched set. And as for the 2 pinouts, they may be similar, but they most certainly are 2 entirely different plug designs. The L24E utilises just 1 long plug and the L20/28ET utilises 2 separate plugs. Cheers, D -
Just don't play your hand when looking for the 260 cam, not everyone knows, but I'm sure if you tell them the price will go through the roof. The 260 cam has 256 duration and for your relative stock L24E turbo, it will probably be a little long and the L28 cam should be easier to get. Cheers, D
-
F54's were the 280ZX Turbo block and in turbo form, never came to Australia, but some of our n/a 280's had F54 blocks in them, but as far as I know, F54 blocks never came out in 260Z's. And JC the cam would be fine, now or later. Cheers, D

Anyone interested in a set of stock Stagea rims? -
Thanks, but I'm using a P90 head and need flat tops to bring the comp up. I want about 8.5:1 so I have some off boost driveability. Cheers, D
-
Yeah! for sure. I talk with SWR a lot and I was going to put an 87mm bore into my L20A and use sleeves, but the cost was preventative. The block would loose all of it's rigidity and it would be a mamouth task to complete and with custom liners, the bill would exceed $1500 after decking, recess grooving etc etc etc, so the F54 was obviously the better alternative. These pistons & rings you have? Are they FLAT TOP and are the rings CHROME?? Cheers, D
