  1. Most of the RB's run a 72.5deg thermostat, Neos run 82deg (it was done for emissions reasons and 34gtr is the same era so it might too), Nismo thermostats are 62deg but unless you have a track car with custom management, they aren't that good an idea.. e.g. VCT on my Neo engine doesn't operate until the engine is over 70deg Normal operating temp for all the RB's I've had seems to be about 80deg, except the Neo which likes to sit at 85deg. I would be slightly concerned if temps were nearing 100 and would be looking at the routine cooling system maintenance referred to by others above. Personally I've seen 105deg in the 32 after a thorough torching of the tyres on a 40deg day.. didn't even throw any coolant out
  2. One day the epic touring bus will get a 3L.. I'd really like to shoehorn a v8 in there but keeping 4wd is a must!
  3. Back on topic: I've already got the best of both worlds.. my Stag. Awesome daily that still puts a smile on my face while the 32 is off the road.
  4. Even if it is a Mines' ECU, it means fk all as you can't do anything with it.
  5. I would be wondering why the stock wheel was sitting 5deg left
  6. IMO that's the biggest risk with a slapper. My first 30, even though it had forgies, was a slapper crank and rods and the thrust clearance was out.. destroyed an oil pump and almost the block Second pass, I got the crank ground for oversize bearings and it lived a much healthier life (only pulled it apart to upgrade rods and other stuff).
  7. What rpm is it making 5psi at? (any gear, doesn't really matter in this instance)
  8. Maybe the OP has a highflow he doesn't know about?
  9. RB30DET FTW! That RB31DETT will just be a slightly overbored RB30. Nitto do the 3.2L kits for RB30 (soon?) Spool do the 3.4L kits for RB30 (soon) And I think RIPSNZ do a 3.2L aswell? OR save your money and just built an RB30DET.. you'd only need the extra 200-400cc if running a HUGE turbo. P.S. I love my 30
  10. I'll even take you for a drive.. couple of weeks I should have the LSD in and the adjustable rear upper arms.. then it's skid time! See above
  11. Yeah sorry Rhys, I forgot the "don't drive like a dickhead in the wet" part That being said.. 2WD in the wagon in the wet is quite amusing
  12. Wait till you get a yellow sticker, then fill out the mods paperwork. As for the HID's (xenons), you need to pop out one of the globes currently in the car so you can confirm the globe type (H1, H4, H7 etc). I just got a set of H1 6000k HID kits for $70 off a forum member (Jembo I think it was). As far as good coilover brand, I run jap spec Cuscos in my 32, stiff as fk. In the wagon I have a set of Teins. Go talk to Matt or Brad at WA Suspension and they will point you in the right direction
  13. Thankyou very much P.S. I just got me a Tuners License.. now to figure out how to use the software!
  14. Correct, the $460 is for a Type 4 board AND a single User license, you only need this license if you want to tinker with your car after its' been tuned (or you want to tune it yourself). Edit: Can someone with a MANUAL R34 GTT, give me the part number for their ECU please? I need to order a board for someone that has lost the sticker off their ECU.. it will be a 27xxx-xxxxx kind of number.. TIA! P.S. if anyone in Perth is looking to get a board, PM me
  15. Matt Brown is part of Nistune, $300 is also a bit steep for just a board as a Type 4 board is only $282rrp incl GST, new from Nistune. Series 2 auto RS4's are able to be Nistune.
  16. My skyline is permitted for its' coilovers.. this is the WA section. Lowered springs on standard shocks is shit.
  17. First thing I did when I got my wagoon was change the front seats.. I went with 33gtst seats as I still wanted a little cushiness (I've got GTR seats in my 32 and didn't want them in the daily). I found it changed the whole driving perspective of the car, it went from riding on a bus, to driving a sports car
  18. Get some decent tyres.
  19. Good times
  20. Are we still in primary school here?
  21. lol sounds good, I guess after working all night you're not gonna be up for a scenic drive?
  22. Just build a 30DET and be done with it
  23. LAST CHANCE! Looking at about a 300km loop starting and finishing in Australind, then heading back to Perth. Heading out about 8:30am, PM me if interested.
  24. My glasses are frameless, they are also made of polycarbonate (because they're frameless and they have to drill through the lens). Fork out for some decent glasses
