  1. I think you may be over simplifying the process of a complete re-map. The restrictions are caused by the "stock ecu settings/tune" as you put it.
  2. The standard Gzone remap does not get rid of the throttle restriction. It is an extra optional expense, so might as well dictated other stuff while they have the ECU. Can't hurt to get the guesstimate tune a little closer while waiting/saving for a piggyback.
  3. Maybe I am missing something, but why bother using 95 instead of 98? Our cars definitely run better on the higher octane, so the only thing I can think of is the 4c saving between the two. Why not just get Shell V-Power and hand over a Coles fuel docket to save the 4c per Litre (works out to be under $3 saving per tank lol) 99% of my fuel is V-Power as it is the most convenient stop for me, but Mobil 98 and BP 98 are both good too. Haven't noticed any real difference with economy between the three (I used to use BP and Mobil all the time). Vortex 98 on the other hand...
  4. Nah, he went with the V-Pro Andy. +1 to all this No need to be sceptical mate. Just let them get it completely tuned, then ask for pics.
  5. lol @ belly full of Saké in a 3 year old's room. I am sure we could organise an awd dyno down here and I have a little spare space for accommodation. Would just need to be able to deal with big dogs
  6. If cross drilled rotors cracked on the street, why would Porsche, Ferrari etc equip them?
  7. Why not just get a 260RS Stagea? Same drivetrain, much more practical.
  8. Any time the third pedal is removed, a fair amount of "edge" is taken off. Doesn't matter what kind of car it is.
  9. Lambo's make my heart swell and adrenaline rush... unfortunately my bank account is like an anvil dropped on my head from a great height
  10. Better than killing old babies that have more experience with life I guess
  11. Nope, all the significantly modded M35's in Japan have seen use a piggyback with a re-flashed ECU
  12. No. Certainly won't be a waste of time IMO The Impul was either a) a generic Impul map (most likely) or b) tuned for the previous owner. It was never remapped for the mods that Andy has done. It is possible to see a significant performance increase from a remapped ECU as long as those that remap it are aware of your mods, have a heap of experience with the model of car and, finally, are damn good at what they do. It will never be as accurate as an in-car tune, but going from 140awkw to 190awkw on a remap with isupporting mods done would not be out of the realms of possibility.
  13. Can't stall when cruising at 100kph and 1900rpm
  14. Look into the eManage then, I believe that HKS have sold out of the Fcon VQ25det harness's and they are now a discontinued item. There is one on Yahoo though. I don't think you'll be upset with the Gzone
  15. Well, mine is sitting in Japan atm collecting dust waiting to come over here, so I am open to it.
  16. True Hopefully. Price depends on where you buy one, but the harness was around the $400 mark (but IS plug in - no wire cutting) and F-con's used to go pretty cheap over here due to a) lack of tuners b) price of tune... but ever since I started looking, all the cheap Fcon Pro-V's have disappeared but figure around 1-1.3k plus tune I guess. I will be trying out the Fcon iS as well as it is more a piggyback than a plug in standalone but can apparently control the variable timing... although we heard the same about the Vmanage! There is a chance that either unit may remove the restriction although there is only one way to find out! I may yet end up with an Fcon iS and a G-Zone
  17. I suppose you could always buy/rent one from someone who has a spare. There are at least 4 floating around
  18. He might be referring to one of those throttle controllers that don't do much I have seen a heel of a lot of M35's with them attached (sites and auctions mainly). Don't really know what else he would mean, unless he means an aftermarket TB like a Mine's or Impul unit. 64,000Y + shipping + supply of ECU? hmmm, I think I'll try HKS first. Would definitely be good to remove the restriction though G-zone are good to deal with (comparatively) and take into account all the mods you tell them, but it is still an educated guess and you will need a piggyback of some kind to take full advantage of your mods. Oh, and word of advice, don't ask them the same/similar question twice EDIT: Having said that, if I hadn't already bought my Fcon harness, I would definitely be interested.
  19. Haha, send him the list and see what he says
  20. lol... no rubber radiators? Anyway, being aluminium, can't the crack just be welded up?
  21. That last pic looks like normal rear camber wear on an M35 with 235+ tyres Not nice, not nice at all but good you could get a lift home (no spare?)!
  22. Correct, just remember there were a few ECU's for the M35's... "*RB" VQ25det NM35's. Oct 2001-Jan 2002: 23710-AQ800 Jan 2002-Jul 2002: 23710-AQ801 Jul 2002-Sept 2002: 23710-AQ802 Sept 2002-Jul 2003: 23710-AQ803 Jul 2003-Dec 2003: 23710-AQ804 Dec 2003-Aug2004: 23710-AQ806 Also, there were other ECU's that FAST brings up with "ACCS3" under the trim colour column. Look back over past posts, it would seem that it is an "Automatic Control System"... Cruise control? Oct 2001-Jan 2002: 23710-AQ810 Jan 2002-Jul 2002: 23710-AQ811 Jul 2002-Sept 2002: 23710-AQ812 Sept 2002-Jul 2003: 23710-AQ813 Jul 2003-Dec 2003: 23710-AQ814 Dec 2003-Aug2004: 23710-AQ815 And then there are the following ECU's for the "WB" VQ25det Stagea's Oct 2001-Jan 2002: 23710-AQ860 Jan 2002-Jul 2002: 23710-AQ861 Jul 2002-Sept 2002: 23710-AQ862 Sept 2002-Jul 2003: 23710-AQ863 Jul 2003-Dec 2003: 23710-AQ864 Dec 2003-Aug2004: 23710-AQ865 "WB" with "ACCS3" Oct 2001-Jan 2002: 23710-AQ870 Jan 2002-Jul 2002: 23710-AQ871 Jul 2002-Sept 2002: 23710-AQ872 Sept 2002-Jul 2003: 23710-AQ873 Jul 2003-Dec 2003: 23710-AQ874 Dec 2003-Aug2004: 23710-AQ876 Yep, I'm sure they'll just loooove that list. (well, they did want to know every ECU part number )
  23. Of course it is a different ECU to the Z33. Different engine, mostly different drive train. What did he expect? lol Maybe the PM35 uses a similar ECU being the same engine. Keep trying mate, something may come of it yet.
  24. then all you need to do is find a 20b
