  1. OK, I am venturing into my very first brake upgrade for my daily driver. This car (SSs pulsar ) is never going to see huge power upgrades, or even a larger set of wheels, in all likelyhood, but as the front rotors need replacing then I thought I would step up to some slotted rotors, braided brake lines and good quality pads. I would appreciate all opinions, and reasons for them. kthnx
  2. *puts hand up* big problems - like, It wouldn't fit at all, but that was due to me not having the lower lip on my front bar so not enough room.
  3. Well, if nothing else, all and sundry are VERY appreciative of the info you have left us with. You have probably saved some of us future M35 buyers a lot of time, expense and heartache, so for that, you have our unqualified appreciation. good luck with your future endeavours. Kitteh pic for the road?
  4. actually, I reckon that colour would look unreal with a R34 front end..........
  5. don't worry mathew - it has since been bought by a forum member who is going to be restoring it to its former glory (and probably better, going by his past exploits )
  6. I think its going to come down to the driver skills myself - the Gen3 motor is notoriously low on torque in the lower rev range, which means he will either have to flash stall the converter, or feed in a gutoad of revs and ride the clutch off the line, either way, balancing that with a (usually) slippery wednesday night track its going to be quite demanding keeping a commonwhore wagon on track. Can't wait to see it either way.
  7. Hey Chuckie - how about a lift?? I will don the bibs and come down for a look *runs off to price 50hp NOS kits for pulsars*
  8. *looks at photos then runs away*
  9. kneecaps? LAWL!!!!
  10. Those wheels are tha shizz!!
  11. One of the downsides of sharing a wheelbase with a 2 door GTR I suppose LOL!!
  12. you haven't said wether it has a boost controller, but that is probably all it needs (Or, a SAFC and a decent tune)
  13. For stained areas in the engine bay, i have used that citrus based oven cleaner sprayed onto a wet rag and used ONLY as a spot cleaner. Works really well but you need to make sure you rinse it really well afterwards. As for the black stuff. I have used this stuff to great effect both inside the car and out
  14. there is a member on here with the handle of 3InTheBack - for a very good reason LOL The S1 stagea has 3 mounting points on the roof of the cargo area, and 3 holes for 3 more on the floor of the cargo area behind the rear seats
  15. Yep - but due to the insurance situation I have been forced to abandon turbo's for a few years Mind you, I got an N15 SII SSS hatch with a SR20DE in it that goes alright, it sure as hell is no stagea, but it will do while I save up for an M35 The back problem is from years ago, everyone concerned walked away from the accident, thankfully, another big for Nissan build quality there.
  16. can I suggest that if you are going to crank up the boost on the std turbo you go the cheaper/much easier option of the R34 SMIC, and if you live in the hotter areas than look at a water spray for the SMIC. Unless you are going the whole hog (hi-flow etc) then a FMIC is kinda overkill for your application and MAY just induce a little more lag. BOV are more trouble than they are worth and will just attract unwanted attention from v-tec yO! boys and teh popo. I drove a stagea once with a pod, and apart from doing nOTHING AT ALL for the performance, gave it a really annoying induction noise. Novelty value lasted about 30 metres into the drive and the noise almost put my wife off owning a stagea at all. My pick would be a bit of suspension work and a shift kit straight up, then the zorst and manual boost controller thats just my 2cents anyway,
  17. HA! In my wildest dreams perhaps! Hey Paul - did you know that you were actually the last person to ever sit in the back of my stagea? (at the haunted cruise - the next morning it got written off )
  18. Charlie - I am going to make it a definate NO for the offer of a ride. I have been able to secure 1st floor atrium seats on the corner of William St & St Georges Tce for the Christmas pageant that night so my kids are going to have quite possibly the best seat in all of Perth for it (not to mention acess to my own cappucino machine for the duration of the event Have fun though
  19. you are close Leigh, W is for wagon, GN is for RB25 + AWD (either turbo or na) and c34 is the model designation so a 2WD RS will have a vin that starts with WGC34. I am going to go out on a limb and suggest you are actually the proud owner of a 25t RS V go here for full specs on this (and all other) model http://www.cars-directory.net/specs/nissan...a/1998_8/21838/
  20. Use contact cleaner or isoprophic alcohol on electrical stuff, not WD-40. It leaves behind a film that collects gunk
  21. Dude, the suspension mounts and everything are completely different on the RWD stageas. You can tell the 2WD from the 4WD just by opening the bonnet. The best advice I can offer is to go over the paperwork very carefully and see if the car was listed as an RS4 or AWD anywhere on the bill of sale or rego papers. If it is, you will have some comeback to the seller (who MUST have known what he was selling, especially if he complied it) Other than that, just enjoy the fact that you have something a little different, and revel in the fact that you could do a manual conversion a lot cheaper/easier than most on here.
  22. I am 99% sure they were factory fitted to a few special edition skylines. CBF searching but I know I have seen them on this site somewhere
