  1. That guy raises some interesting points, but there is a lot inside an engine that he doesn't address so I would be a little wary of it myself. ie - what about the preservative coating on the bearings in the mains and big/little ends I wouldn't want anyone spining my brand new engine under hard load when there is still a lot of pre-assembly lube floating around in the oil either, not to mention the case hardened skin on new camshafts, bearings on rockers (or pushrod ends for all the knuckle draggers out there), freshly cut valve seats, stem seals etc etc etc just my 2 cents anyway.
  2. the shudder under braking will be the same as any other Mcpherson strut FD car. (bushes, struts, bars etc etc etc) as well as warped brakes, but if the discs are that warped it usually flashes up an ABS problem. noisy turbos make baby Jeebus cry
  3. dude, look to your left and you will see a key marked "Caps Lock" Anywhoo, with only 2 litres of oil left, I would say you have a fairly knackered engine. Unfortunately this is common with a turbo charged car that hasn't been cherished it's entire life. Try a compression test, and then do it again with about 10-15ml of oil in each cylinder. If it gets better the second time it is your piston rings, if it doesn't it is probably a dropped valve. Either way, it will make you a sad panda. The oil resivior on the drivers side of the cargo area is the ATESSA resivior. It feeds oil to the ATESSA pump located just above the rear diff. Treat it just like an auto trans fill point (same fluid even) and it will be fine. Whatever you do, DO NOT let it run dry. That will make you a suicidal panda. Any other questions, try using the search function at the bottom of the page before you post it - chances are its been asked and answered before. Oh, and welcome!
  4. Or, you could spend about $80 (cheapies start at about $30 from supercheap etc, but I don't trust them myself) on a quality compression gauge, disconnect the coilpacks, pull the sparkplugs and do it yourself? why would you pay more than the gauge costs to get someone else to do it?
  5. Great buns, could use some work on the abs though.... ;)

  6. *poke* any mods about? (water off a ducks back Ivan)
  7. The Avenir looks like the b@stard love child of a 4cyl Camry wagon and the Mazda 6... and the NA RB20 stagea? why the hell would you bother?
  8. Kinda depends, in some states they are actually illegal so it depends on where you live. I did (that is, before mine head butted a WRX)
  9. Holy Snapping Duckshit Batman! Jeez d00d, when I asked for photo's I didn't mean go out at 11pm and take them. Thanks anyway but I feel bad now So, onto the stag, is it stock? We seem to get a few blow in's from up your way. How comon are they in the Land Of The Great Unwashed? ( ) *edit* As for us being out in the sun for too long, You guys are the ones that sent us all down here as convicts. If it were us, we would have left all the convicts there and headed down here ourselves!
  10. welcome to the n00b pom!! Where abouts in Pomgolia are you from? post photo's of snow on a stagea! They are actually designed for it, but hardly any of us convicts have ever even seen snow, let alone driven in it. PS. LOL @ the volvo in the background. Do you ever try and get into the wrong car by mistake?
  11. sounds like coil packs to me.
  12. *shrug* depends on what you are looking for i suppose. It would be slightly better on fuel IMO, and that HAS to be a good thing, right?
  13. Just take it for granted that anything said about an S1 is for an auto, unless it states that it is an Autech 260 or a manual conversion (There was no manual S1)
  14. I have decided to forego the "rooster" park of my username. (too many jokes about smelly cawk ) thus plaese change it to just "stinky" Ta muchly
  15. Kirstie, when you say chrissy lights cruise, are you talking about the city lights, or all the ones people set up on their houses? I am asking because I loaded the stagea (*sob*) up with the kids and a few of their mates last year and toured some of the houses you suggested and it was a bit of a pain in the butt. 99% of the time we ended up having to park a few streets away and walk down to actually look at the lights because the streets were jam packed full of people, and getting a whole procession of cars through these areas would be a logistical nightmare.
  16. see here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=3473785 and here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=3473795
  17. *slap* that is all
  18. If you look closely, you will see that the reason it doesn't have the wheel mounted shift buttons is because it isn't a triptronic auto - it wasn't a std fitment on the 25X series. There is a S2 25t X Four running around here in Perth that has the same setup, sans prime ed pack (woodgrain wheel, leather seats etc etc etc)
  19. even less of the 25X Fours and one less than that now.....
  20. sorry if my smart arse reply offended you, but if you use the search function you will see that all of these questions have been answered many, many times over. wheel sizes - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...p;hl=wheel+size computers - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ap...p;hl=piggy+back* http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Af...p;hl=piggy+back* CBF doing anymore searches, but you get the idea.
  21. bit of a wierd one that... 25T X Four, with what appears to be a prime ed pack (?) Would be a good buy, and a little bit different too.
  22. sweet mother of god! I used to be pro life, but people like that make me wanna consider my options.... You just KNOW this idiot has dodgy'ed something like that up for his car, and some of his knuckle dragging mates have convinced him there is a market for it. Send him to a desert island with the sand port and polish tool, and the recirculating exhaust halfwit, and they will kill themselves/each other in no time at all. Its called evolution
  23. *LOL's at Traitormobile corner* cutting a fine svelt figure there Mitchy!
