LOL I got "smoked" by a astra turbo last night.. I think I did anyway, I just noticed it fly past me with the P plates on. I caught up to it at the next lights and passed him at 20kmh because no matter how much a P plater can put their foot down - they don't know squat about picking lanes. They should enrol to the cc school of lane picking when they get their P's, so atleast when they crash they can do it in a moving lane.

Marketing people have a term for that, it's called conspicious consumerism. I'd go the BOS one. BATMBL is a great guy to deal with and the dumppipes he supplies look as if they are from good design (seperate runner atleast 40mm from wastegate). I haven't got one purely for the reason I have a sr20 in a cefiro and that's not exactly an off the shelf part.

I lost my shims. Can I just make my own aluminium sheet thing and use some sort of high temp glue to stick them on the pad to stop it from moving around in there? Mine squeel like crazy, sometimes if I put the car into reverse a little and use the brakes I hear a click, as if the pad is resetting itself into the caliper. I assume this is half the problem. I'm also hoping to fix the squeek I seem to get every 1 revolution from the rear brakes (I'm hoping it's not a warped rotor).

What's the thing behind the gear knob? Looks like electronic controller for something that's running from the ciggy power supply double adaptor. Do all GTRs have a GT badge on the front quarter panel?

Depends where North. If you live in the Northern westish (of the coast) suburbs like Hornsby etc it's not prohibitively expensive (hornsby, horsnby heights, berowra, etc). Northern Beaches isn't terrible either. 2 bedroom small unit will be around $200-250 a week with possibly one LUG. (dee why, narrabeen, colleroy etc) Best bet is to hit domain.com.au or the other home rent/sell site which I can't remember and check it out. Anyone who has mentioned prices without their suburbs is guessing pretty blindly since you haven't mentioned a suburb. Finally "Northern suburbs" = Hills District or North Shore or Northern Beaches? They're all pretty different. If you tell us the suburb maybe we can suggest things better.

It's a misconception you can carry it around as a legal weapon. If you're carrying it around with the intent of using it as a weapon you can get charged. Your better off just using it in self defense and within reason if anything

Just check the back of the head unit to make sure it is "front" and "rear" not "speakers" (or similar) and "sub".

Another suggestion if you wanted to run the car for 2 hours you might consider a second battery - depending on your use (it may work out cheaper). Caps aren't for running longer and won't smooth out any problems - that's not what they are for.

You can just get the exhaust manifold gasket. I think it cost me bout $100 for the sr20.. Just call Nissan (use genuine it's worth the money).

I have a brotec se8 fitted on my sr20 in the cefiro. Before having it people just thought it was a camry.. now I have people asking me if it's got a GTR engine or if it's a JGTC car!!

Well if they won't do it then they won't do it. I suppose it's up to you if you want to find another compliance workshop or not. My question is this - if they won't do it, how do they propose to get it complianced without an engine? I don't understand. There are a few people who have had sr20 converted cefiros from JP perhaps one of them is in Vic and can tell you where they did it. Good luck.

If it's been done in Japan you won't have a problem registering it as it gets a form of engineering when it's complianced (hence the engine number and suc h will be the one it gets complianced and RWC'ed with). You MAY have a problem on the road however without getting it "engineered" (i.e. as part of your rego conditions) for defects. But I wouldn't really worry about this too much as cops won't know what a cefiro did and didn't have.
