  1. it's a cool car mate. and very quick. to be honest I was surprised he runs with no cage or any safety gear. I know that half the reason it's quick is weight, but even a decent half cage would be a good idea for a car doing 46s. no point giving up safety just to save a bit of weight. great car though, I could see myself in one for sure.
  2. you can import JZZ30, JZZ31, UZZ30, UZZ31, UZZ32. why not actually call the people who comply them and ask them for a price. it's no use asking internet forum users. I can tell you I reckon compliance costs $38 but when you ring a shop and say I want my $38 compliance they will most likely tell you that you're about $3000 short.... http://www.raws.com.au/SEVSRulingC.asp?RulingID=014 and the only ones I'd bother with would be a late 90s model single turbo 1JZ manual version, or a really neat UZZ32 if you can find one (I'd say near impossible now).
  3. if you mean the rear wing I bought it from C-west. it's a super GT wing, with extra gurney flap. not cheap but it's the real deal and it works! to get the most out of it though you need to have a frame under it like mark has built to transfer that downforce to the chassis, otherwise it's just going to push in your boot lid! oh, and a small update on the car. doing some tyre testing at eastern creek this last weekend mark managed to run a 1:37 which is damn fast. but of as always there is more to come....
  4. lol, no worries mate. it was no problem. and I agree. Neil definitely needs a turbo kit for that nugget. give him a chance against all these GTRs.....
  5. yes we looked at buying it must be 6 months ago or more now. hopefully it's been well stored and is still in good condition. I thought it sold on ebay US? the stuff is only worth what someone is willing to pay. but consider you could buy a wreck in japan for around $40K (or less) and import that as a parts car and I'd consider very carefully before you spend any decent time or money bringing it out here hoping to get $100K+ for all the bits.... JDM wreck would also be more desirable as it's RHD. also, that car was pretty heavily crashed, there have been a few wrecks around with less damage going for pretty fair money.
  6. nice work bris buddy. you have been taking your brave pills after all. some very nice laps. I don't hate you.... much.
  7. yeah, 1.37.8 was fantastic! but we were still battling a few little problems and mainly just trying out some different tyres etc. with a set of new softs on it would go quicker and with the few little issues ironed out even quicker again. Mark said on saturday he reckoned with it all going well a 36 would be do-able and having seen how he did the 37 I would say maybe even a 35 or better would be possible. imagine how it would go on a set of good slicks. a car like this would really benefit from slicks as it's still on tiny 265/18inch yokohama A050 semi slicks. they are doing a very good job though to get that much power and that much car around the track. guys run tyres that big or bigger on mild-ish evo etc! the white radical was pretty cool. it must have about 1hp/kg power to weight ratio with the V8 in it. it does 1:28s though so it's a whole other ball game from cars like marks. and it should be I guess being a purpose built LMP style race car vs a road car mark built himself. it was good to see lots of SAU guys doing well. Neil did well in the radical, and duncan did really well to be just 2 10ths of neils radical! that is insane considering duncan drives his home and it's on semis vs slicks! just goes to show the potential in the R35. Marek did really well too. I didn't get to see much of Inwoods R33 but it looked quick out there and was obviously doing well. good stuff. and I spoke to another couple of guys with a white GTST that had come down from newcastle. it was their first skyline just recently purchased and they seemed to be enjoying it.
  8. Gold! or perhaps he saw 2 chicks with a bottle of champagne and no one to share it with in the bushes... driving a 07 F1 car wont do much for him sadly. but hopefully if he can get some seat time in the current rarri then he'll be in good shape. I'm sure he'll get a handle on it either way, but he would definitely benefit from some proper seat time in a current spec car with all the kers, no TC, current aero etc.
  9. lol, see schumacher "pulling a webber" on mark at turn 1 only to have webber "pull a schumacher" on michael on the last corner taking them both out of the race....
  10. hmm, I could be tempted to give you a test car. I'm looking to grab one soon and not in too much of a hurry to have it on road.
  11. repost all the pics of your car dane! forum lost our posts. anyway, carrying on from our now invisible conversation I went out and got one of those green tomei 3 point braces for the S13. I'm not impulsive was not too bad on price, and will be here today. schweet.
  12. I love michael schumacher. I don't give two fks if it's good or bad for ferarri in the long term. all i care about is we all get to see the master race again, and I'm just trying like hell to figure out which of these last few races I can get to so I can see him drive again in the flesh. I just can't believe we have to wait 3 more bloody weeks for a race. damn you summer break!
  13. flat through eau rouge or what? if not, don't bother coming home. stay in europe with the other fun boys.
  14. on my GTR track car I use an ikeya formula rear traction rod/radius rod. on the silvia I have those whiteline ones. they are actually pretty good. that particular arm doesn't transmit much vibration anyway I didn't notice any different changing from a bushed arm to spherical bearing, but if you want to keep as many bushes in the car as possible then by all means go the whiteline one. it does the job well and the price is quite fair.
  15. the Greddy Type M (now called type LS) are completely different from the "real" greddy intercoolers. they are cheap because greddy made up a kit using a core they had made in china to make it a budget entry level kit. the Type R kits etc from Greddy are very different and are made in japan hence they are double or tripple the price. ARC coolers are the best no question. yes not many shops in aus stock any decent amount of japanese parts. they are all very keen on stocking chinese gear as they buy in bulk nice and cheap. from suspension to exhausts to turbos. but a few places may be able to show you an ARC kit, if you're in sydney try Mu's Secret they stock japanese stuff. otherwise ordering online from nengun etc is probably the easiest and cheapest way to go.
  16. if you still have the stock sensor just leave it in there disconnected.
  17. so who will be the first guy shumi 'chops' into turn one. and will he get penalised for it? or will it be called schumacher-esque? or maybe they'll call it a button-esque move... lol
  18. depends on what the car is going to be used for more than the turbo type. but judging by the size of the turbo I would guess it will be used for drag mostly. in that case a pretty big cooler will be the go. something around 150mm thick, trust, HKS, ARC, they're all good.
  19. yeah getting rid of the standard oil/coolant heat exchanger is a good idea. people do it all the time with SR20. tomei make one as do saurus for SR20. (pics below) you could get something made for RB26 easily enough, there would be a market for it for sure. obviously the GTR one would look very different but you get the idea.
  20. my advice, get one from covercraft. they make amazing car covers and you can discuss with them exactly what the cover is for (ie indoor? outdoor? uv protection, dent protection etc). and they fit very nicely. http://www.covercraft-pacific.com/online/default.asp
  21. yeah kimi is beginning to look even more bored than usual. I didn't think that was even possible! having said that his recent podium may light some fire in him.
  22. lol, well I came pretty close once. but you are the first I know of. I tell most people who get in an R35, you may as well just cut up your licence now and save the cops the trouble of doing it later.
  23. yeah, BMW fked williams over very nicely. payback is a bitch. as for kimi though, I don't think he'll be worried about MS too much. he's far more concerned with strippers, coke, champagne etc than with keeping his job or impressing his bosses. he also enjoys occasionally driving an F1 car.
  24. well I'm a bit confused about how I feel about it too. I kind of feel that once you make a big deal and do the big retirement thing that should be it. it hasn't worked for anyone else who made a comeback (alan jones.....). but on the other hand I am very excited just to see schumacher race one more time. I loved watching him every single time he took to the track. I actually do partly agree with djr81. it's probably not a good thing long term, but i think the other guys are right. most of the ferarri guys will accept that they are doing this so as not to make massa feel bad and it makes the team look good and gives them a chance to flog a shitload of surplus schumacher merchandise.... hell, I'm wracking my brain to think of which of the remaining races I can get to just to see the guy race one more time.
  25. well it's been getting around alot, but I personally can't see it happening. there is nothing really to gain in it for him. most likely he'd be mid field at best and it just takes all the 'drama' out of his original retirement. I don't think he'll ever race an F1 car again. Having said all that I'd LOVE it to happen. To see him race again would be fantastic. I cherish every race I saw him in. A few more would be great.
