  1. yeah obviously any gauge or map sensor doesn't really flow any air, but the key places to put them are to protect the solenoid. it doesn't hurt to have them to protect the insides of your map sensors either just from oil vapour etc too, as long as they aren't breaking all the time. the best bet is to put them in the line out of the way of heat etc. like for profec b for it's internal map sensor put it near the control unit so the filter is in the cabin not in the engine bay. you are right though it's unlikely anything bad is going to happen without them. I use them though.
  2. definitely drill and tap some holes in runners 3 and 4 and insert some 4mm nipples. it doesn't hurt anything having them there, and if in the future you need a good source for a map sensor (or 2 in djetro case) whether it be for motec, vipec, autronic or whatever you'll have it ready.
  3. I can tell you for certain none of the R35s i imported had leather looking anything like that. they were all fine.
  4. ask mark these questions. he knows what is reasonable to expect or not. but basically $10K is about right on top of what you pay for the car FOB for a 1mil car or so. not sure if you'll get a really nice S3 for that money but you might get lucky.
  5. yeah the cheap ones always seems to split where they're glued together and it's a pain. air does flow through though as the sytem is open to atmoshere as it bleeds off air through the solenoid. the good ones usually have the two halves screwed together and I haven't ever broken one of them.
  6. ok, well I'll grab to 4mm trust ones for peter, if anyone else want some let me know as I'm going to order them today.
  7. yes PFC does have eng temp compensation built it. so if it's been set-up at certain water temps it can enrichen the fuel map. have a look at it in the HC. you can see what it's set to.
  8. yeah the price of dual shock controllers here is rude. I bought some in japan about 2 years ago and they were about $45-$50 which seemed about right. but all PS3s do ship with them standard now and have done for quite a while.
  9. good shit troy! that will be awesome fun, and the sound. my god man! the sound! where did you find that bad boy? auction? yahoo? or is there some japanese my105 I don't know about?!
  10. yep good advice. in all my GTRs now, if the engine comes out and plenumn etc comes off I drill and tap the two points and insert two nipples just in case me or a future owner decides to go map in the future. I bought a bunch of the nipples from apexi that they use for the djetro kits and just use them. and when they're not in use you can just bridge them together with a piece of vacuum hose. it's one of those things that's so easy to do when everything's apart, but hard when engine is in. everything looking good. where did that nismo thermostat come from? the nismo packaging looks a bit weird...
  11. get a pressure gauge on the pump and see what pressure it is putting out.
  12. yeah my launch came with non rumble controller but they have been available to buy for ages now, and for the last year or so they ship with them too. I have 2 rumble ones and one original non rumble one from launch.
  13. nice pics. love the last car pic. typical japanese drift car with all the important drift bits, like roll cage attached ash tray and air con mounted drink holders... they have the priorities right. new wife is quite a looker and your new daughter is supaa kawaii. you are a brave man to take on a wife with a daughter already, I wish you all the best mate.
  14. yep, that's the one. good ol donki. typical japanese assassination of english (well in this case spanish I guess?) you can buy everything at donki otie from a pack of crotchless panties, through to a maid outfit for your gf, through to a pack of beer and some snacks, through to some small apartment furniture right up to a 1mil yen louis vuitton handbag! in the roppongi store they have giant fish and turtles etc in their fish tank and at about midnight on fridays they feed small fish to the big fish! it freaked me out the first time I saw it. I was standing outside when I saw a bucket of small gold fish get tipped into the tank. then the big ass fish just started swallowing them. I was like wtf? the same shop in roppongi with the fish eating fish also has a roller coaster on the roof! my apartment in tokyo is just down the road from the roppongi store, it's like my local supermarket when i'm there. lol. they have a really big one in shinjuku too. the one in roppongi is like 6 stories or so. don quijote roppongi and it's roller coaster!:
  15. that's what I did to garth walden......
  16. imagine how many times better it would have looked had he just left the wheels alone. that nice silver/grey against the red car would have looked nice. the gold looks cheaply done, and camp. the v8 idea has some merit though.
  17. well some people agree with me. quick google revealed prime ranked at #1. hurricanes #5... http://sydney.citysearch.com.au/restaurant...5/1137543676077
  18. d'oh! looks like i'm outvoted... well I "personally" don't rate it. and think prime kicks ass. so there!
  19. yeah sadly I'm not sure webber will get a wdc. having said that he's still in with an outside chance this year. anything can happen. remember one year schuey looked to have it all wrapped up and broke his leg halfway through the season. let's hope button, rubens and vettel like to go motorbike racing together, or perhaps are working on an alaskan crab boat in their off weeks... is that so much to ask?
  20. well it's certainly not minor! to replace the selector it means box out and apart.
  21. forget hurricanes, you want a nice steak restaurant, go to Prime. it's in GPO next to macquarie bank in pitt st. might spot a few society types there too and probably the best steak in sydney.
  22. sadly this is happening a lot and as a result his trading access on SAU has been revoked. he is no longer a registered, paying trader on this forum. it is a shame as he makes some good parts at fair prices but we cannot continue to allow him to trade here in light of the number of complaints being raised. To make you feel somewhat better, of all the complaints I know of from people who ordered and paid for parts and then got no communication and no parts for a long period of time as far as I know ALL of those people did eventually receive their parts of their money. some took a few weeks, some a few months but to my knowledge no body has come forward to say that they were left with no money and no parts. it by no means excuses this behaviour but it does suggest that at some point you will get what you ordered. Continue to pursue him through whatever avenues are available to you and hopefully he will come good.
  23. agreed.
  24. well if it's anything like the ride I had in a radical sitting next to garth walden at phillip island a few months back you will be shtting your pants! lol, flat through turn 1 at PI in a car that is bullshit fast is wild. they do 1:30 something at PI which is intense to say the least... it's probably the fastest I have been around a track by a fair way.
