  1. eh? "structural set up is a whole failure"? can you elaborate on that? Of all the thousands of cars out there I only know of 1 failure which was due to severe abuse. I've seen enough R35 GTRs go through some pretty serious punishment to know they are very well sorted, and the transmission is a great piece of work. like ANY car if you try hard enough you can abuse it to breaking point but normal driving, hard driving, circuit driving and even racing events seem to be no problem for it at all. I can't believe you'd hate to own one. I would love to know what all these flaws are?
  2. anything imported to australia is liable for any applicable import duty (different for different things from different countries) and GST. it doesn't matter if you are offshore, with offshore accounts and business registration. you simply need to pay those costs at the time of entry for the product/parts/cars.
  3. yeah cheers guys. Well to be honest I never add receipts for everything so I can honestly say I don't know how much any car i've imported cost. but I woul say it wouldn't be pretty Anyway, I need to sell it. I had eyes much bigger than my wallet and have too many cars. $50,000 and it's yours, drive away, rego'd, washed the whole caboodle. someone put me out of my mysery!!!
  4. umm, GMS on an R31 Group A toruing car?
  5. 2 things, they are rubbish tyres, I would learn from that and buy something better this time. and there are definately cuts there and I would say they were caused by the tyre fitter. i have seen it before. once happend to one of my semi slicks and the only place I could pinpoint damage was during fitment.
  6. they use long wheel nuts. then you put a bolt through that ring (same size and pitch as your studs), then into the un-used part of the wheel nuts.
  7. fark yeah, that MG is a bit of gear. love the interior, particularly the shifter arrangement! no idea what class, interior looks like touring car, but exterior not so sure. eitherway it's a serious unit.
  8. lol, I love it. nothing better than some fake centrelock wheels. someone fab some up for me. but make mine with ninja stars on the edge please...
  9. you are a wildman stevie. very lucky you didn't have to hit the brakes ever. RB30 flying through your cabin towards your head my leave a bit of a lasting impression!
  10. ex ferarri employee at his new job....
  11. I definately wouldn't go wider than 225 semis on an 8 inch rim. that will be fine.
  12. yep the V10 were nice. it was special hearing them in real life blasting around. although the V8s aren't/weren't exactly rubbish either...
  13. yes reTOOLing indeed!
  14. lol, nice work on mining a one year old thread. in future a quick glance at the last post date before you post would be appreciated. closed.
  15. cradle looks good. should make some good gains with it and it's nice being able to get rid of the compromised hicas removal solutions and just have a rear subframe that suits. shame about the fingers though. there are not many worse places you can get burnt than on the pads of your fingers...
  16. yep, bad weekend for HRT. can't get much worse when one team mate takes out the other, and they were already down to about 14th to begin with! poor skaifey not exactly having a dream run to the end of his career. I wouldn't mind seeing skaife get a dig as a commentator. and I really liked the pommy bloke they had alongside cromley. where has he been hiding the last 10 months of this year? he was great, finally a very proffesional commentator who called it like it was. the racing was pretty good too. turns 1-4 made from some great moves and counter moves. as usual there were more people racing and working on the cars than there were watching in the stands, but it was a good race none the less. cockrant really is a tool though isn't he. flogging his bloody V8 book. fk off buddy.
  17. lol. funny you should say that. about a year ago or so I went into a car audio installer/auto worshop. I had to use the can and when I went in there above the toilet was a huge stack of vintage 70s and 80s hard core (and I mean hard core) porno! haha. cracked me up. needless to say I didn't come out for about 40 mins afterwhich my mate came looking to see if I had fallen in.
  18. what car did you buy mr mystery? aussie racer? ummm that's about the extent of my ideas...
  19. looking good.
  20. nah he said fatto putana talking about hamiltons 'girl'friend.... also, my biggest dissapointment of the race was that coulthard didn't get to finish and rip up some heli's! his interview was great. He said "mainly I'm just bummed that I didn't finished as I had planned some massive burnouts. we get fined for it but I figured since it's my last race I'd go out in style". nice work DC. bringing doughnuts to the people. so lame these days that the winner doesn't get any victory doughnuts (except in camp car and nascar).
  21. could be a winner. I have a full set of brembos in the garage. with new project mu race pads and rotors too.... now all we need is the car. luckily it cheaper than the brembos!
  22. don't be shy with with the baggage! I have carried: 1 X OEM nissan seat melbourne - sydney 1 X velo race seat (thanks dane) melbourne - sydney 1 X 19 X 13inch GT500 TE37 wheel from tokyo to Kyushu on the 7am commuter flight. that one got some looks as it came out on the carrousel.... especially since I was the sole white man on the plane full of japanese busness men Plus literally hundreds of kilos of parts (inc OS twin plate, gauges, EBCs, cam gears, cams, etc etc) from tokyo - sydney. hey, they may give you some funny looks but i've never been shut down yet. though once the wanker at melbourne tried to tell me I couldn't take my umbrella with me. swaybars wont be too bad as at least the standard ones are nice and light (can't say the same for the whiteline ones though )
  23. well the thing is with two decent pumps running with good power supply they will be pumping out the whole tank fairly rapidly and the fuel will certainly heat up if you are doing street drivnig and just sort of crusing around. on the track it can happen too if you run with just the minimum fuel on board that you need for your 10 lap session etc. so the fuel cooler is not a bad idea imo.
