lol, I should pull out the HD and save a copy! all japanese music to me sounds like it was made with one of those little casio keyboards. what a bargain for the buyer. $thousands of dollars worth of J-pop for free. think of the savings people. and stephen thorpe, happy to help and good luck with your search.

My Importing Journey
Beer Baron replied to hanyou's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
you have to pay to get the dealer access to the USS auctions. I don't know of any free way to do it for general members of the public. sorry. there may be someone out there though that is reproducing the stuff and distributing for free. but if such a free service exists it would most likely be putting up the cars after the auction is already over. -
levinet, I don't want to call you a liar exactly, but no way would 245 RE55s be stretched on a 9inch wide rim. most run the 235s on 9s and it's about flush. They do have about the same width as a 255 road tyre. why are you so intent on the WT compound? I don't really know anyone running it as from memory it's the soft/motokhana compound. most people run SR2 these days. the other thing to be aware of is on the road they will tramline quite badly. particularly if you have a 'racey' wheel alignment (ie toe out on the front, lots of castor, 3 degrees neg camber etc). when new they are 'ok' in the wet, but when worn they are pretty hairy. it will be an expnesive habbit though. I've run semis on my GTR on the road for a couple of years as I was just too lazy to bother having sets of road tyres lying around. but a few hairy moments in the wet convinced me it's worth having road tyres for the road, and track tyres for the track. just like your street tyres are no good on track, track tyres really are no good on road.

Hi mate, hopefully the additional pics answered the questions about the lip and lights. they are both only very minor points, but I mention them as they are really the only faults I could pick. I wouldn't say I'm in a hurry to sell (as in I won't be entertaining offers really) but I'm not keen to hang onto it any longer than I have to either. The RX7 should be ready in about 2 weeks so ideally I'd like this all sewn up by then.

this is a fairly good pic of the headlights. a little cloudy but not too bad. they are certainly still usable, and most people probably wouldn't care. factory calsonic intercooler. they are a great cooler for a factory item. plenty of flow for up to 350rwkw. compliance plate showing chassis number. if you want to do a REVS check etc, use the chassis number as it is here. the side airbags. nice to have that extra piece of mind. side impact accidents can be terrible, and every little bit helps! everything in the engine bay is tip top. I took this pic as you can see the bonnet liner. 33s and 34s bonnet liners seem to disintergrate very easily, so once indication of a car that has had a hard life (ie trackwork etc) is a worn and torn bonnet liner, or sometimes they are missing all together. This is the invoice from the full service and inspection I had done in japan before the car left. it comes with the original "GTR" remote locking remote which is pretty rare, and looks cool. keys and books The servicing inspection report. Anyway, if anyone has a request for more pics I will do my best to take some. it's hard though as I work till after dark so I can only really take pics of the car in daylight on weekends. But I think all those pics pretty much cover the lot.

hi mate, i've only done about 1,000kms or so since I bought it. It was imported earlier this year. I'm the first aus owner obviouly. I bought it in japan. more pics to follow, inc headlights and lip. it's a little hard to make out as it's quite small and underneath since that's usually where it contacts the ground. it's actually not too bad, I've been driving it a lot lately and never scrape it. but during complaince etc others were driving it and I think not as carefull as I am when going up driveways etc. this is the ETC toll pass reader (useless here sadly). and the knob next to it is headlight height control. That is very handy. when in town you can point the lights down nice and low so as not to bother other motorists, but when out on the open road, or in un-lit areas you can switch them up to give you good light without having to use high beams. the kms, and note the oil pressure too is very good. The stereo is awesome. any CD you put in is automatically copied to the hard disk so you don't have to carry them around, or muck around on a PC ripping CDs to MP3 etc. Plus you can watch DVDs on both the bottom and top screen too. as you can see it's got radio, DVD/TV, CD, MD, memory stick, and hard disk. It's touch screen and very easy to use too. It also has voice commands so if you can speak a little japanese you can control it with the voice controls! SUGOI!

If there is a cleaner GTR around for sale I'd like to see it. ok, here is the motherlode of pics. one of the new lights. you can see the balast for the HIDs in the bottom. inside the boot. had to take it appart to replace the battery with a new one. very clean in there. no accident damage or rust. one of the rear crossovers, and the bottom of one of the kevlar speakers. they are very nice. The tool kit is all there. Including the rear wing adjustment tool (how cool is that, any car that comes with wing adjustment is ok in my book!) more pics after lunch.

Most don't. Well they just have the front passenger and drivers bags. but you could get optional side airbags but it was not very popular as most people weren't buying a GTR for it's safety! and also it was a very expensive option. Since being in aus when those pics were taken it had just had a standard $20 wash. It will look awesome after a good wax and polish. If i'm feeling nice I'll get one done for the new owner. lots more pics coming in a sec.

Hi Guys, Well it's a sad time. Got to sell my R34 GTR. I bought this car in japan earlier this year as it was an immaculate car for a good price. It was going to be a daily GTR for me after I sold the monster prime garage built GTR I had. I was going to putt around in this till my other 32 GTR was back on the road. but as is often the case plans change. I've bought a nice 2002 FD series 8 RX7 RZ model. It needed an engine rebuild when I bought it (it's a rotor remember) and the new rotor motor was being built at Pre Stage in japan. I thought it would take ages. turns out I was wrong! It's already finished, and already on a ship heading for sydney. So with that car approaching this one has to go. ok, It's an R34 GTR non- vspec. Silver (dark silver, almost a grey) in colour, it has 88,000kms. The car is in beautiful condition. It has a couple of nice options. Here's the spec sheet. R34 GTR Silver 88,000kms Has rare factory side air-bag option (keeps you nice and safe!, this is a very rare and expensive factory option) Drivers side and passenger side front air-bags 6 speed manual Nismo side pillar garnishes special GTR scuff plates factory 34 GTR plush floor mats Nismo S-tune suspension (great stance and height and handles very nicely, not bumpy or uncomfortable either, it's great suspension) Carozzeria (Pioneer) carbon kevlar splits front and rear with the front tweeters mounted at the base of the A pillar (and they are adjustable for direction) Addzest (clarion) double din touch screen TV head unit which has a Hard disk, memory stick reader, plays MP3, CD, DVD, MD, has TV and navigation too, but I'm not sure how you would get the TV reception and navi to work in aus. Nismo front lower lip and front undertray. very tough looking. it has Factory HID Xenon headlamps too, with electric in cabin hight adjustment Aussie installed full alarm and 3 point immobilser - Aus Standards approved with all black wiring etc. factory nissan alarm with central locking and immobilisers built into the keys nismo radiator cap (sweeeeet) and since the hard disk automatically copies every CD you play in the car onto the hard drive you also get a bonus of over 100 albums of japanese pop music! doesn't get much more JDM than that. hehe. Other than those small mods the car is mechanically, completely standard. Standard airbox, standard boost and even standard exhaust (it still sounds nice though). There is no accident repair history on the car. I have the original GTR key and spare key (both with the immobilisers built in) and have the books for the car too. Before I had the car shipped out of japan I had it fully serviced and inspected at Nissan Japan. I have the service receipt (which came to nearly $700!) and their inpsection report. It came back all clear, and I had all fluids replace (lots of them in a GTR!) If you are looking for a neat, well cared for R34 GTR then this is the car for you. People who know me I'm sure can vouch for the fact that I am very fussy when it comes to the cars I buy and import and I always manage to find special or very neat cars. There is only 2 small issues with the car. The front lip has some small damage on the right hand side just from driveways etc. However I will either get it repaired or repalced for the new owner, if the price is right, otherwise we can do a small discount for that. The other one is the headlights are a bit cloudy/dirty (they are actually not as bad as I thought, and came up quite good after a wash). Considering how much pride I take in my cars it wasn't good enough for me, so I ordered 2 brand new R34 GTR Xenon head lamp housings from Nissan (you don't want to know the price!!!). They have just arrived and I haven't fitted them yet, but I will give them to the new owner for $500 each (cost me about double that). They will really make the car look brand new, and they even include new ballasts and wiring, so you could sell the old headlights to another R34 GTR owner who has had his xenons removed and wants them back. I'm asking $55,500 and the car comes with 11 months rego. of course it's fully complied, and registered in NSW. I'm now dropping $1,500 off the price to get this sold now. If you are thinking about importing you should know the AUD is now down to 84yen/dollar so importing a car just became 15% more expensive. You would not find a 34 GTR this nice and be able to import, comply, and register it for less money than this. So come and check it out. ANOTHER UPDATE: THE AUD IS NOW BUYING 65 YEN!!! SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ME HAVING BOUGHT MY CAR WHEN THNIGS WERE GOOD. I REALLY NEED THE CAR GONE NOW. VERY SHORTLY I'LL HAVE YET ANOTHER OF MY CARS ON THE ROAD AND JUST CAN'T EVEN DRIVE THEM ALL ENOUGH AT THE MOMENT TO KEEP THEIR BATTERYS FULL! SO, FOR THE NEXT LITTLE WHILE I'M GOING TO DROP A FEW GRAND OFF IN THE HOPE IT WILL MOTIVATE SOMEONE TO COME OUT AND BUY IT. SO, LET'S CALL IT $50,000 FLAT. HELL LET'S MAKE IT $49,999 SO YOU CAN TELL EVERYONE YOU BENT ME OVER AND BOUGHT MY 34 GTR FOR LESS THAN $50 GRAND. IF YOU WANT A 34 GTR YOU WILL BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A NICE GENUINE CAR LIKE THIS FOR $50K. Here's the pics:

cheers. I did the measurements on the weekend. I did them by myself and needed one hand to hold my beer so they aren't exacly accurate to the milimeter but pretty close. The back is over 4 meters long and about 1.85m wide. the ceiling height is 1.75m. overall length is 5.4m and from memory overall height is 2.4m high. Sorry it's a bit hazy, I didn't have a pen either and i did do it 24 hours ago, so I'm asking a lot of the ol memory bank!

My Importing Journey
Beer Baron replied to hanyou's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I don't think there are any genuine 4 door GTRs in sydney. I believe there is 1 in aus, but none in sydney. I have seen 2 in japan though. it's quite weird. GTR from the front, 4 door from the back. japaneseusedcars.com is not an auction house. they are just a website listing auction cars and looks like they are an exporter. I use a system that links into USS which is the biggest chain of auction houses in japan. it gives me access to the 58 major japanese auctions each week. it's very good cars are listed fairly early and if you are silly enough you can just bid on-line. -
it is a fair bit of work to fit a pedal box into a skyline (or any road car for that matter). it does also take a little while to get used to, even just the angle of the floor hinging pedals is quite different to what you are used to, and the brake pedal will be rock hard. once you get used to it though it should be excellent.

cool autech S15 sounds good. I saw an even rarer autech creation come up at auction the other day. A genuine 4 door R33 GTR. It looked pretty tidy, just under 100,000kms. 4B. start price was prety cheap for such a rare car. Once upon a time 4 door GTRs were really sought after and very expensive. -
Bit Of Suprise... Nice Rb20 Setup

trent, have I ever told you you are a very attractive man. always enjoy your threads mate. you have inspired me to put some cams in your old car to keep up with these RB20 buggers. -
Berry/newman Hi Octane R32 Gtr Forsale! :(
Beer Baron replied to giant's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Just thought I would add this info for any prospective buyers, the car has now run a 9.78 quarter mile at 143mph. Probably one of the cheaper 9 second cars around! So if drag is your thing simply sell off all the mega dollar circuit gear and get yourself some drag radials and see if you can break some records! -
couldn't get the measurements yet. i've been working late so when I get home it's cold and dark and i'm knackered. so the motovation to poke around in the dark is not strong enough to pull me away from the couch and heater! I did pull out the log books though. man it's got good service history. I had it serviced at compliance with new filters, and elf oils and I think they did brakes too (will check that). It's currently showing 155,576 and that service was done at 155,550 (so it's done 26kms since). The last service in japan was done at 154,356! So it did a whopping 1,000kms between the last 2 services. before that it was 145,278 before that it was 137,020 before that 128,421 before that? 119,450. I think you get the idea. this thing was serviced every 10,000kms or less since new. and they are all the proper full services with the dockets all attached to the log book. Flicking through the book the first service I have down was done at 1,117kms and the second at 6,820kms. very complete history.

My Importing Journey

yep that is kiwi for you. car left japan on 28th of may, and the new owner saw it in sydney on the 26th of july. so 2 months to transit from japan to sydney. with mitsui or NYK it's 2 weeks japan-sydney then allow up to 5 days for customs and quarantine clearance. I know which one I prefer. anyway, I think I've made my shipping preferences clear. time to move on. edit: we can do a little comparison. my RX7 just left japan on 24/7. let's see when I can lay eyes on it. time to find out if I'm full of it or not! it's coming with mitsui. -
Differences Between R32 Gtr's
Beer Baron replied to Black Widow's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
don't be too sure. I'm fairly certain you could option almost any car with any thing. so a nismo or N1 with aircon as an option is not out of the question. the only way to tell for certain is the VIN. things like wiper, air con, kit, brakes, whatever are good clues, but they don't tell you for certain anything at all. VIN will reveal the truth. -
Differences Between R32 Gtr's
Beer Baron replied to Black Widow's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
generally in order of desirability the R32 models go: N1 V-specII V-spec regular late models (+92) nismo regular early models (pre 92) the nismo version don't really have anything fancy. They don't have brembos like the vspecs do. They generally have some nismo body add ons, no wiper (though you could option one I believe), no ABS (though again, you could probably have optioned that too). some claim they had different turbos too, others claim they just had standard turbos. personally I've never seen a nismo edition one sell for much more than a comparable (age/condition/mods) plain version 32 GTR. part of that is because I believe all the nismo models were built 1990 and earlier so they are only really a little more desirable than other early model 32s. anyway, I guess the point is, buy the car based on it's condition, mods, price, history etc. don't get yourself bowled over by the fact it's a nismo edition. just buy it cause it's a good example of a 32 (if it is). also, the toy shop is not in sydney. they are about 2 hours drive north. -
I'm pretty sure the stock plug for RB26 is heat range 7. I know GTSts are heat range 6, but fairly sure the GTRs run 7s stock. anyway, either some 7s or 8s would be the go, depending on boost level and ignition system. for gap you will find it hard to run 1.1mm if you are running decent boost. you'll probably wind up around .9mm or .8mm.

Dyno Graphs Comparing Pfc Boost Controll Vs Blitz Idiii
Beer Baron replied to STATUS's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm not sure why you need to buy either the SBC ID III or the power FC BCK? The HKS EVC III you have now already has gain adjustment. why not just use that? The whole point of this thread was not blitz is better than everything else, just that going from manual bleed, or an EBC without gain adjustment to one with gain adjustment (like most current model EBCs) that there is some power and response to be had. sure if you didn't already have something with gain adjustment then by all means run out and buy a blitz one, but the HKS EVC is very good to begin with. you might find very little if any gain by switching to the blitz ID III. -
*sigh. guys, like I said above. please try and be a bit tolerant of others. posts are not always interpeted correctly and for all we know this bloke has never broken the speed limit in his life. I don't want to have to start handing out warnings but I will if people continue to abuse and provoke other members. It doesn't achieve anything anyway. If this guy really was a fully hektic street racing doood then sooner or later it would be exposed and he would be banned. but just abusing people on the forum wouldn't change their behaviour, all it will do is get yourself warned. sorry your thread went downhill mate. and since the problem is solved, I'm closing it. PS, Al, coming soon mate. about 4 weeks time I think, I'll keep you posted.

as far as I know nothing has changed in recent times regarding race only imports. certainly there has been not DOTARS "ruling" that has been published. unless phoenix imports were the only people to see it. any smartie thinking of trying to abuse the race only import approvals please think again. all you will do is f*k it for the rest of us who do the right thing. just like you did with the LVIS/CPA scheme, just like you did with 15yo rule too. DOTARS are not dummies. if you want to import a race only car you had better have a decent competition history to back it up, and the most appropriate licence for the racing you have been doing and will be doing. So, sure if you are a top level drifter who has been competing for 3 years and have only need a L2S, then I'm sure they would approve it as you can demonstrate extensive competition history, and can map out future rounds you will be competing in. but if you go to 3 track days a year, and reckon they will give you a race import approval on the strength of your L2S licence and some super sprints and trackdays then you may be in for a nasty surprise...
