Forget Superlap - Lets Do Supertrack

troy mate, hitting the burger ring on the first date is not considered good manners in civilised european circles. at least buy her some flowers first... -
thanks mate, you're a legend. the reason for 12 plugs is I think they use 6 for run in and low boost tune, then use the other 6 for high boost tuning. I think maybe different heat range. the trust suction kit is all the intake piping (good guess). thanks again, the new owner will be happy to get that list I'm sure. oh, and just to help give you something back! LLC is coolant, short parts is probably best translated as misc. parts. just little bits and pieces that are not itemised, but add up. I think Trust aluminium preset = Trust aluminium pulley set valve grinding is where they cut the new 3 angle valve seat. it gives a better seal between the valve and the head. often the factory valve seats are not cut very well.

actually, now I remember. the silver one was dry sump too. and it had a weird screen made of particle board, and all these ducts and fans and vents in the boot. some of it looked a bit nautical! should slap that into johns car.
-
no idea on the silver one, but the grey one is matt's. top bloke and he did very well considering it was only his second time at oran park too. it runs all the good gear. dry sump, PPG dog box etc etc. very nice car. with the scavange from the head it doesn't breathe at all. i mean nothing. it doesn't have any pipes fitted to the cam covers and not a drop to be seen anywhere in the engine bay. for quick GTRs dry sump is the way to go it seems.

he can't export to canada unfortunately for him. Anyway, I posted on your UK GTR OC thread, and my thoughts are still the same. but if you want somewhere to store it I guess OZ is as good as any other. but if it's really nice I would just export it here and sell it. you will get about $23,000 AUD for it which pretty close to USD at the moment.

Hi Guys, I need some help with a translation. hopefully not too onerous. it's 90% katakana but a little bit of kanji too. The background is this is the parts list (well most of it) for the parts that went into the build for my R32 GTR. Now that the car is going to a mate of mine I would love to be able to give him my original invoice, but with the english translation of the part names. I am not too bad with katakana but I'm still very slow and it's quite labourious for me to read it all as even with a few kana refusing to come forth from my memory banks it can be hard to decipher a full word. and as far as kanji goes i'm pretty hopeless. So, if anyone will take pity on this baka gaijin and help me I would appreciate it very much. Here they are: Arigato gozaimasu.

I would love to, it would make a very good tow vehicle with big torque from the 4.2l diesel. I will do a quick measure of the chassis and get back to you. I wish I could keep it, but truth be told I just can't afford to. I already have access to a tow vehicle and trailer and with limited funds just can't afford to hang onto this baby.

Correct Torque For Rb26 Crank Bolt

amen to that. I can think of plenty that have come loose. -
Attessa Torque Split Controller
Beer Baron replied to falcon's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
research a bit harder then buddy. GTI-R DOES NOT HAVE A TORQUE SPLIT GAUGE. so I don't know where you get that from. having owned and driven many of them I can assure you of that fact. GTI-R AWD system has ZERO in common with a GTR system except for the name. GTI-R is a FWD platform, east-west mounted engine. with AWD added. The front diff is in the gearbox, and then a centre diff sends drive to the rear. there is no wet clutch transfer case like a GTR. It is permanently 50/50 torque split. there is no electronic control and cannot be. GTI-R are a great little car but their AWD system is nothing like a GTR. not even similar. but hey, why listen to us. I say run out there, buy your torque split controller and then post up some vids of you using it. that should be awesome. -
bummer! I have the cusco tension rod brace on my car and i'm just about to put in the crate motor with trust extension. are you sure that you're not able to rotate it? my tension rod brace doesn't sit below the sump, it sits in front. and the trust sump doesn't stick out any further forward, just downwards.

what's even more impressive about the 35 times is the speed de-limiter stopped working half way through the day! I think Russ' best time was set with the limiter working.
-
Holy moly! nice lap mark. that is stupid fast. There is such a big gap from say say 1:20 down to the 1:12s you guys were doing in the 32. Especially considering it's still a road based car. Very impressive especially so when you consider mark has done less than 50 laps of Oran park by my count.

R32 Noltec Adjustable Upper Control Arms
Beer Baron replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
any chance of making them able to give more neg? mine on the shortest setting will only do just under 3 degrees neg from memory. I would love the scope to go up to 4. ie. currently it seems they do -2.5 and + 5.5 (if as you say they adjust 8 degrees). Is it possible to see a +4 -4 split? stock they seem to have around half a degree or even a little more, so that range would be perfect. all the arms seem to be too worried with removing neg, not adding it for guys on the track. -
Aftermarket Front Sway Bar - R32gtr
Beer Baron replied to Ronin 09's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have been using the whiteline bars, but I'm thinking about either switching back to standard ones, or possibly some cusco ones. the whiteline ones are pretty heavy and I wasn't quite 100% keen on the fitment. not sure on the size of the stockies, someone out there must know! -
Who can import me a 350Z?
Beer Baron replied to |PRESA|'s topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
you cannot import a 350Z to australia for road use. it is being/has been sold here in full volume. the only 2 ways to import a 350Z into australia is either race/rally use (in which case the car can NEVER be road registered) or as a personal import which requires you to have it registered overseas for at least 12 months. neither of those options is feasible for 99% of people. -
I will check the measurements for you Aaron. It was big enough to fit: 2 X R34 N1 Nur crate motors (each on their own full size pallet) 1 set of carbon fibre R34 GTR wide body rear quarters 1 set of carbon R34 wide body front guard 1 set of carbon Super GT style skirts 1 garage kagotani GT front bumper and carnards 1 garage kagotani front under tray diffuser 1 trust intercooler kit for S13 4 X R32 GTR wheels with tyres 1 X bar table 1 X 18X13inch Super GT magnesium TE37 2 X truck spare wheels 1 X C-west carbon fibre GT wing and gurney flap lots of other little bits too (like GTR plenum, throttles, cam gears, springs etc etc) and still had some room in there for more. it would be perfect as a moving truck or delivery truck, or as a support vehicle for race track use. It can carry a whole lot of stuff, but still very easy to drive and park, and legal on a regular licence. it also has an electric folding side mirror too which is pretty cool for a truck!

roadworthy means basically would it pass a pink slip. it's not related to mods. basically. tyres not bald or un-roadworth in any other way (chunks missing etc) brakes work lights and turn signals work no leaks car structuraly sound seat belts work things like that. basic common sense and safety. days like this are a great way to learn about your car and your driving too. and so much fun. and it's a great safe place for begineers to step into motorsport, no where near as daunting or as dangerous as a track day.

Painless Wiring Harnesses

how much does the kit weigh? -
could be good for the next round of superlap. although it has to be said the SA wasn't that quick.... lol.
-
for the diff use the nismo plates in the rear. cost about $200 and you basically end up with a nismo 2 way LSD. spend your diff money on a front 1way or 1.5 way. I don't know much, but all those in the know tell me front diff is where there is a big gain on circuit. especially with some decent power.

who thinks nathan is pretty cute for a little fella? I reckon get him without his make-up on and he'd be a real looker. shame he's taken up with paul.

well very dissapointing outing for my boys webber and kubica. webber had it all for the taking. and sadly he dropped it on lap one. he looked good for a comeback and watching him move up from 18th to 10th was awesome, but why on earth the team decided to leave him on worn inters when there was more rain forecast is beyond me. that same mistake cost kimi a podium too. had webber either got new inters or even done one stint on wets he no doubt would have been up in the points. however he still maintains 8th in the WDC which is no mean feat in a red bull. still it was a big opportunity to grab a podium in a topsy turvy kind of race and he squandered it. I don't really know what the koobs problem was but he didn't exactly cover himself in glory either. DC and Vettel coming together was just insane. two team mates should not be coming together like that. hamilton, well he did well. drove a neat, safe race and brought it home in P1, can't ask for much more than that I guess. except that fking martin brundle had to ruin it right at the end with another bloody 'senna' comparison. wanker.
