  1. I can get some for you tonight if you still need 'em. got a pair of HKS GT-SS at home. and another set on the 32 in the garage. they are pretty good. spool up pretty hard. 15psi at 3700rpm.
  2. lol. GTR would be good. I'm really torn. I just thought about it more. the GTR has bone stock suspension. the silvia has coil-overs, 2 way, adjustable castor rods, rear upper arms and traction rods, pinapples, GTST lower arms, adjustbale strut tops and good brakes for it's weight.... the plot thickens. either way it seems I'll get punished by the weevil! why bother turning up!!
  3. I'm pretty keen, but one of my hates is rushing around last minute to get ready for a track day, so I'm not sure I'm up to putting myself through that this week! basically the choice is between: 1100kg with this: or 1500kg with this: for the silvia I just need to: rebuild 2 calipers fluid flush fix up the seat a little fit the new greddy intercooler take it easy as no oil cooler for the R32 I need to: get fluids changed (the whole lot) get wheel alignment chuck some pads in it maybe whack on some different tyres fit my seat in (easy) fit my harness (easy) tough call.
  4. sounds like you have a pretty decent set-up. I don't have a lot of experience with the trust twins on GTRs. been in a few with trust singles and one or two with the twins but not enough to really get a feel for them. having said that I'm running a single trust T518Z on my silvia SR20 and it's awesome. very good spool up and makes 235rwkw without much boost. I can imagine a pair of the smaller ones would be a good thing on an RB26.
  5. well the thing is you aren't going to get anywhere near 300-320rwkw with stock turbos. so if you are replacing the turbos, replace the dumps. nice tomei dumps are awesome and under $700 to your door. or there are cheaper knock offs around but none of them have filled me with much confidence. given they are the most important piece of the exhaust I would spend the money on nice ones.
  6. hehe dongle. fatz doesn't need that he's already got one. it's not real big though so maybe another couldn't hurt? maybe that's the problem? dongle too small for good reception.
  7. i might now be in this. a mate is 90% chance of not being ready and offered me his entry. it's just a matter of getting the silvia or 32 track worthy and strapping on my cojones and getting amongst it. maybe I should do what all the "smart" guys are doing and get a pro to do the driving for me so I can devote all my time to running my mouth. so dundan? wanna be my pro driver?
  8. and if I lose you get chu-hi and cheap katsu karee! lol. ok, I'm not that tight. ramen and gyoza... I will be in town in december so we can make good on these threats!
  9. where are people getting these weights from? I hear all the time of people with super magic 18s weighing 7kgs. but I have at home for instance a forged magnesium super GT wheel. it is paper thin and super light and still weighs about 8kg. they are so thin and light they only have a very short life span before they buckle etc. what type of 18s do you have that are 7kg, and what width are they? stock R32 GTR wheels are appox 9kg from memory.
  10. mmm gary and john do make quite the cute couple though. but I agree with 2rismo, please, for the love of jeebus, no pics.
  11. I reckon either kimi or kubica will take out the WDC this year.
  12. can;t you just buy hard copy jazz mags and rent movies? or go to the pub and 'bag a live one'... sorry I have no idea how this internet thing works.
  13. you are spot on. for years I've had otherwise intellignet folk giving me the spiel that sperate wastegate pipe helps boost build which is just plain rubbish. as you pointed out whilst boost is building wastegate is (or should be) firmly shut so split or merged makes bugger all difference. once the gate is open it means you are at target boost so it makes little difference. having a big open pipe does help as the quicky you can let the gas expand after exiting the turbine the faster it moves the better off you are. now a days I prefer the big mouth tomei dumps. but the trust ones are good too. sorry I couldn't help you out in a hurry. I'm sure you will like them. my only real criticism of the trust dumps and fronts is that they are mighty heavy, so make sure you use all the brackets etc to take that weight off the turbos. the reason for that weight is they use quite thick stainless which is a good thing too. as for making the gates dump atmo for the track I would not bother. so much effort and it will butcher your pipes and not offer much if any gain. if you really want some track sound I would suggest leaving the front pipes and dumps alone, but change the cat back section between street and track. for street you can have a set-up with a cat and quiet-ish cat back exhaust and for track loose the car and run straight pipe with just 1 muffler.
  14. it's like you opened up my head and read my mind mate! I feel exactly the same way. fast driver, rubbish racer, total f**king wanker. haha. yes, it was a masterstroke of driving genius! to prove my skills I've also managed to back it into the barrier once and still drive away. waiting for the call from ron dennis any day now.
  15. all I see is hyundai this, and magna that.... lol, I remember when folks in that field used to just drive their road cars there to race. hardly a shock that searles team who were very professional and strongly supported beat their brains in. but credit where it's due, they went there to win and made sure it happend.
  16. the power curve looks a bit funny to me. quite a slow climb. for instance my GTR just tuned the other week. at 4500rpm you are at 175kw i'm at 220. at 5,000rpm it makes 250kw, yours is on 200. at 5500 you're on ~230 i'm on ~280 and yet we both make about the same peak. but basically 50kw more everywhere else. I don't have my torque curve handy but it should be pretty good. you can see this style of 300kw has lots of area under the curve which makes it fast on the street (and the track too).
  17. good work mate. now make 10 more and flog them to everyone at superlap who forget one. pay for your entry and all the beers you are going to shout...
  18. Yeah some events now are starting to require them now even for late model cars. Up till now later model cars with an un-modified 2 stage factory catch have been ok, but for some reason of late it seems they are moving towards making all cars use a secondary restraint. Even a recent drift day I attended required all cars to have one and that is classed as a non-speed event! Still for $25 and 5 mins drilling a hole it's not too onerous.
  19. the best coating i've seen is the HKS step 3 pistons. from memory it goes ceramic coated crown, titanium coated ring lands (and top ring) and moly coated skirts. it's like the neapolitan ice cream of the piston world.
  20. my advice is buy one of these babies. http://www.initialdrift.com.au/forums/view...074&start=0 cost about $25 and make sure you ask for it to be sheathed with the rubber heatshrink (stops it scratching up stuff). easy to fit, just need to drill a hole. now that I've bought mine I just keep it in my helmet bag with licence and helmet etc so that I never forget to take it to a track day/sprint/whatever.
  21. if you are talking about the ex tomei 34 GTR then yeah most of the gear was recovered.
  22. -8 is too small. -10 or -12.
  23. yeah, link not worky.
