  1. yeah good luck to all, and be safe! see you guys in the morning.
  2. I love you guys. thanks stephen and adam. you have enabled us fine folk to enjoy the R35 at 180+. It would be a sad world if we couldn't do that...
  3. Envy Imports in brookvale (sydney) tell me they can tune them now too. maybe give them a shout.
  4. things are happening. everyone is honing in on sydney. it's going to be good. fatz, bring cans for me too mate. none of that guiness shit either or you walk home buddy.
  5. good thinking 99. I was actually going to break out my kanji book and do it, but I would like to know a couple of the other things around the box too. don't want to f**k it up as it's not the kind of car you want to hear the word 'oops' uttered around.
  6. yep, that's the stuff I mean. Ok, I think a little hokkaido trip is in order next time i'm in tokyo. JAL sell domestic air tickets to gaijin to anywhere in japan for ichi man yen! cheaper than shinkansen green car! and means you can get pretty much anywhere in japan in under 2 hours. yes, ichi ban boshi is pretty good. nice qyoza and ramen too. I go there for lunch pretty often.
  7. help me to feel the performance free in velocity dream to real it is. don't you think?
  8. if anyone really wants to get stuck in, anything you think would be useful on this page would help greatly too. Arigato gozaimasu.
  9. Hi Guys, I really need some help. I have an HKS VAC speed limit remover which we are fitting to a car this afternoon, but I can't read the kanji that denotes the colours for the wiring. Can anyone help? I'll be happy to send some money for your time, or buy you a nice dinner next time I'm in japan. anyway, here is the bit I really need. It says which wires go where:
  10. Guys this stuff is no longer for sale. please pm me if you were waiting on something.
  11. Guys, these bits are no longer for sale. if anyone had something they were waiting on please pm me.
  12. that is a common mistake. and can have nasty consequences. so much pressure builds up in there. good to hear you figured it out.
  13. hmmm. who could it be...
  14. well it says shingure tokurachi chiseshito or something like that. from my limited japanese it's single plate clutch. either way, it's a part number sticker/plate/whatever that someone stuck on the firewall after they fitted that part to the car.
  15. as much as i love street circuits it sucks for the rest of us. it deprives the rest of us of a place to race. they are demolishing oran park which normal people were free to use year round. and since no replacement has been forthcoming they can now just use a street circuit for the super taxis.
  16. what you will probably need is a pipe spanner. it's like a normal ring spanner but with a slot in it so you can slide it over the pipe. if need be extend it by hooking another spanner or a small piece of pipe to it.
  17. forget the door locks mate. people will just smash the window and either reach in, or climb in if they want to drive. buy a proper alarm and immobiliser.
  18. any car under 25 years old cannot be driven left hand drive in NSW. over 25 years old go for it. you would need to convert it. for a car like that possibly as much as $20K conversion. $10K min. plus is there compliance available? have you rung those plate holders (if there are any) to ask if they are willing to sell you a plate and comply a vehicle for you? in fact have you looked properly into the SEVS list to see what models are on the list and whether they are low volume new or low volume used? I know it's easy to post a thread on a forum and get people to answer questions for you, but don't be afraid to actually do a bit of research yourself. plus often people on a forum may not give you correct information...
  19. the thing is, over the course of time the car itself is probably not the biggest cost. you will spend lots of money on tyres, repairs, mods, entry fees etc. So if you plan to be doing this for a while I would advise save a bit more money and buy a better car. sure an R31 or whatever is do-able, but you will out grow it fairly quickly. far better to spend the money on a car that is easily upgradable as your skill improves. I would look at a basic SR20 powered silvia. in fairly standard condition they are still driftable and as you get better you can improve the car to match your improving skill and the car can be improved enough to be competetive at a very high level. basic S13 with a 2 way LSD, coil-overs, and some light engine mods will make a great base. you will thank yourself for it later.
  20. well done. looks like it's time for me to eat my hat! the good thing is this now means I can buy some from japan again, and they will be cheaper than $1000 too hopefully. they must have found another way to get them back into production.
  21. it's amazing how different the pumps are in the internal design. i love all the peolpe who always said N1 pumps were exactly the same except for a high tension relief spring... good to see you getting stuck in mate.
  22. you can buy a brand new complete motor from nissan. either regular RB26 (R33 version) or N1 Version, or the grand daddy R34 N1 Nur version. In aus they seem to go for around the $15,000 mark. I just sold one around the $10K mark. either way they are available and will be for some time to come. The N1 motors come with N1 block, N1 cams, N1 oil and water pumps, and everything is weight balanced, oh and N1 pistons are apparently different composition as well and have better rings. but realistically fitting one to your R34 is a $20K+ proposition. and then you still need to do brakes, suspension etc.
  23. you will walk in a 1:25 mate.
  24. nice to see my weds are about the lightest 17X9 on that list, but I'm not sure how accurate that list is. even with just a quick look I could spot a fair few mistakes. and ronin, bite me!
  25. cool, I think he's having a rough stab, cause as far as I know those wheels are cast. not sure which enkeis you had in magnesium I can't think off the top of my head what they make in magnesium. they do make very light forged alloy wheels though. I have some enkei NT-03s which are very light, but still around the 7.XX kg range in 17X9. anyway, I think the above examples prove I know bugger all! they are all forged though and as a general rule cast alloy wheels are heavier than forged as they need more meat to still have enough strength.
