  1. yeah forget revolution mate. they are about as pricey as it gets. race and rally speedzone in greenacre are the way to go. nice guys there and better prices. i'm not sure if they do velo seats or not these days. otherwise peninsula sports cars at brookvale carry heaps of gear and those guys will always cut a good deal. my pick for you with your budget would be the GP-90 and a willans 3 inch 4 point or 6 point harness. you can get the 4 point then add the nut strap later if you so desire. The OMP WRC could be ok too, a bit more exxy though at around $1000 and don't forget you will need side mounts, sliders and base frame too to mount it all.
  2. I still disagree that it was a 'good drive'. any time you finish outside the points in the fastest car in the field there is a problem. he brought the penalty on himself. and passing force indias, and TRs and hondas and red bulls etc is all well and good, but come on. it's a mclaren. and like I said, 10th may as well have been last, it's all zero points. with the making the most of it thing, I really meant in general, not just in this race. don't forget is is now 4th in the WDC. with kimi, massa and the dirty polack in front of him. I'd have to say heiki is wasting his drive even more. i mean 2 more points and webber will be beating him! now that is just sad.. at least we can agree allen is a fk head. yeah the button mistake was gold. as was the one when webbers radio was on screen and his engineer goes, hey mark you're racing alonso today. james allen goes "well clearly that wasn't marks radio but it was hamiltons"... knob. of course for him everything is about hamilton even when it clearly farking said WEBBER on the screen and the fact that webber is right behind alonso and farking hamilton at that point was miles away from them having stopped. plus he made up a nice word, "watch the cars change of direction and their dynamamism...." good one.
  3. and a nice little stat. webber is currently 8th in the WDC (and would be 7th if not for trullis strong finish). and he is just 2 measly points off 6th place. and 6th place is heikki kovalainen. what a waste of a mclaren. amazing to think webber is 2 points behind the mclaren. driving his crappy red bull.
  4. and adam, the rules are pretty clear, if you gain advantage by short cutting a chicane, you either give the place back, or get a penalty. hamilton had a choice, and he choce penalty. d'oh!
  5. good race. I only watched it last night as I was busy sunday, but good work webber. finishing 6th is top work, and he managed to pass alonso somwhere along the line, because after the first stop alonso passed him when he made a mistake. hard to believe mark is doing so well in a car that is so average. any day you finished ahead of guys like heidfeld, alonso and piquet (wthout them having any problems) is a good day. as for hamilton? he drove like a clown. like troy said he can be dangerous through traffic. he is in a car that is miles faster than most of the field but he's certainly not making the most of it. watching some of kubica's on board was lovely. man he is good. inch perfect lines and very smooth, and he just seems to have a very good command of the car.' but the biggest thing for me is what a f**king old toss bag james allen is. he has become worse than murray was. I mean murray cocked up too, but at least he had some endearing qualites. allen makes so many fking mistakes and just basically prattles on about nonsense. he should be shown the door post haste. absolute fool of a fellow.
  6. profec B is good and very cheap. the blitz spec R and spec S are pretty average in my experience. the blitz SBD ID III is not bad though. but personally I still prefer the profec B II. I have it in both my GTRs. here is my boost curve from some time back. if you can get a flatter boost curve than that, well done! also note how sharply it ramps onto boost, but still doesn't over shoot the target. very hard to get a controller to do that.
  7. yeah, I reckon piss it off. grab a cusco or arc bar. they are hollow so nice and light too. and I can bet one of my nuts it wont foul on anything and will be a snack to fit. when my nuggie is back on the road i'm going to toss my current bars and go cusco too.
  8. haha, yeah thanks to the simpsons everyone knows what fugu is! I really want to try naked sushi. anyone here done it? my friend was going to take me last time but he ended up being away when I was available to go. it should be good.
  9. haha, I know mate, just kidding around, none was taken. but it's true, if I can do it, anyone can do it!
  10. nasty. here is one I took from in front of the fence (but behind the small barrier) at the final turn coming onto the straight at tsukuba circuit in japan. it's the fastest corner on the track coming off the back straight onto the front straight. this guy lost it and nearly took me out but just managed to avoid the wall. I got nailed with rocks and dirt though. I think this one is pretty cool too. I took this at Fuji speedway drift circuit. this is a favourite too. I took this at nismo festival 2007 at Fuiji speedway. all the generations of Nismo Super GT race cars and group A cars too. and a nice winter sunset. This one I took on the side of a mountain in the tsukuba mountains area. big spot for street drifting on the togue here. some crazy drifters up here doing 3rd and 4th gear entries speeds up around 130 maybe higher on tiny little roads. and I'm mad enough to be standing on the side of it. every time a car came close I nearly wet myself. it is the most scared/excited i've been watching motorsport. this one is taken on the tomei exrepssway heading back to tokyo. we are having a little street race with mines president niikura-san (not that I condone that type of thing ). The best bit is he is in the mines R35 GTR the very day it was unveiled and we are in a 800ps+ top secret built R34 GTR. pretty cool and probably the first street match up between a 34 and a 35 anywhere in the world. now, I know these pics have got nothing on the crazy ones like that porsche accident, but it's the best I can do dammit!!!
  11. yeah, judging by the fat content I'd say it's wagyu. here's a few more pics: different shabu-shabu pic. fugu karage. for those that don't know fugu is a type of poisonous blow fish and is quite tasty. however if not cut correctly you will be eating a fatal poison. you can get fugu sashimi and lots of places have fugu soup too. this is fugu karage. very tasty. with the fugu sashimi sometimes they leave just a small bit of poison on it and it makes your lips go numb! some better yaki-niku pics. you can see the meat on the right of the first pic, and on the left of the second pic some chicken etc. looove yaki-niku. not really food, but still tastey, and still japanese. this is 2 glasses of asahi at the asahi headquarters in asakusa, tokyo.
  12. you saying i'm a monkey? ooohh ooog ahhh ahhh!!! and yeah it's push type.
  13. yeah it was a 32 GTR. and yep, when stationary reverse and first hard to get. I didn't really notice it on the move as I think it was just trailing a tiny tiny bit of clutch. I did still keep the nismo as a spare though too. and hey, it was only a 5 minute job to swap them, and 4 of those minutes was spent having a beer before swapping them over!
  14. I wouldn't be planning that trip any time soon.....
  15. ant, I would just use it with the regular operating cylinder first and see how you go. wrxhoon definitely knows what he's talking about, but they do reccomend the coppermix to be used with the standard cylinder and not their nismo big operating cylinder. I did have one combo a few years ago with a twin coupled with a nismo cylinder and it sometimes did make gear selection difficult (mainly first). I thought it must have been stuffed, but I replaced it with a standard one and it was fine. turns out it just didn't have enough stroke for the given pedal movement to completely disengage the clutch. we are only talking the tiniest bit of difference but it was enough to make first hard to get sometimes when sitting still with the engine on (once moving it's not so critical).
  16. nice pics mate. thanks for that.
  17. absolutely you are mad if you get a mechanic to drill and tap your manifold with it still attached to your head. you WILL get swarf in there and it will most likely damage your engine. 6-7hour is reasonable to remove and refit manifold, replace intake gaskets and throttle gaskets and drill and tap the two holes required.
  18. they cannot be imported or complied under any current scheme. the ONLY ways are personal import (completely impractical unless you live in japan) or race only import. if you want one for road use the only viable option is to buy one that is already here.
  19. hehe, I wasn't even there! but I'm glad you enjoyed the car none the less. it's not a vspec though. they are just R33 GTR brembos we put on it. and yep, it's the one that was restored in japan. must have been one of the guys that showed you through the car, I was only there to drop it off friday night and pick it up sunday night
  20. and some of these too: now, let us leave these good gentlemen alone to conduct their pallet sharing in peace.
  21. he's sending me a small shipment of lap pillows if you must know.... mr nosy!
  22. thanks mate. yeah, it would have rocked on high boost. but, it will be tuned later this week and have some 'real' boost (21psi) wound into it and then we can really see some of it's potential realised.
  23. well done guys. I'm sorry I couldn't spend more time at the show, but I had a packed weekend. still I hope the little 32 helped keep the standard up. bummer it was running on the low boost setting. I tested on the way home and low was only .9bar, high was 1.25 bar and miles different. probably 40kw + difference. any pics of the 32 I would love to see some.
  24. spill the beans steve-o!
  25. sounds like a top day. really sorry I couldn't make it down there. Thanks to the organisers, I'm so glad we have people in our club giving their time to make these events happen. well done. also, well done to all those who got out there and had some fun. I'm very impressed by all the times I've seen posted so far. so many guys in the teens which is really moving in a road car around wakefield. well done! you should all be proud.
