32gtr Audio Upgrade Questions
Beer Baron replied to __PhaseShiftDown's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
yeah I can unserstand that. the tweeters really need to be mounted high and foward I think to get good sound. in that case just go for something similar to what I did. it's not earth shaking, but I just wanted something for long drives and the main thing was it had to be lightweight, so no amps, and speakers as small and light as possible. -
haha, that is a quality effort russ. no wonder sarah didn't want me to tell you the launch sequence for the 35. you clearly can't be trusted!!!

Yusuke Ikeda who was driving.....candy sparkle paint.... mentioned the LED tail lights and Lamborghini door conversion... His NA Supra....also had the Lamborghini door conversion.... hmmm, I think you guys may have stumbled upon a ricer enthusiasts meeting.

you are right, I do love japan mate. but I love australia too. to be honest I guess I just don't have the cojones to pack it all in and take the leap. one day. till then I will keep studying, and keep coming to terrorise you nihon-jin on a regular basis.

yaki-niku (korean bbq) with a mate. looove yaki-niku. sorry the plates are mostly empty! I was so hungry I forgot to snap pics whilst there was still food there.
-
nice, simple ramen. goes down well with beer and gyoza.

all you can eat shabu-shabu in tokyo. this place is pretty expensive, but it's all you can eat for 1 or 2 hours (i forget which) and for an extran 3,000yen you can get all you can drink long necks too (it's cheaper if you go for all you can drink by the glass). they don't know what hit them when we are there and hungry. we can eat and drink a LOT. as tempting as it is to go for the cheeper yankee beef, pay up the extra and get the prime japanese beef.

whilst looking for some other pics I found these: okonomiyaki at okonomiyaki town in Hiroshima. and it's hiroshima style of course (noodle on the bottom).

i happend across a pic. you want to make something like this: -
hmm, I thought the racetechs were up near the top in price? I might have to look again. agree with troy, velo are very good value and make nice seats too. plus they are aussie made which is nice.
-
well it's actually a truckies rest stop, but it's used a lot as a meeting place for car clubs, street racers etc. just like we use P6 at homebush here, and that big carpark in brissie people use. it's not purpose built for car enthusiasts to meet, in fact they discourage it, and police turn up a lot. sadly these days the police shut the gates at 11pm or midnight most weekend nights which has kind of dampened the fun at daikoku a bit these days, it used to be massive though. I will dig out some pics later too if you like. I still doubt the 380.... 300 sure (even I have been 300 in a tuned GTR on the wangan), no problem. even 330. but regularly over 350 and hitting 380? ich don think so.
-
nice, I can't believe it's your first time to daikoku PA and wangan driving after all these years in tokyo! even I have done a fair bit of 'wangan fangin' over the years! well at least you finally got around to checking it out. It's a shame you didn't make the trek down years ago as when I first started going there a few years ago it was crazy, but like lots of car stuff in japan it's died down a little over recent years. still awesome though and still a very popular meeting spot for car clubs. there are some other good little elevated parking areas right on the wangan where people meet, you should check them out too. post up some piccies, i'm sure all the other dudes will want to see it. actually there's quite a few daikoku and other wangan pics in my photo diary thread too. edit: 380kph my ass... lol. I don't doubt his 1000hp but to get the thing to 380kph is a whole other ball game.

32gtr Audio Upgrade Questions
Beer Baron replied to __PhaseShiftDown's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
I ended up putting in some 5 inch co-axials in the front ( I think they are 5inch). I just made a little spacer out of some MDF to mount them. throw out the old plastic speaker mount thing and just make one up out of some mdf. easy, and no need to cut up the door trim or grill. for the rear I just slotted in some 6inch co-axials (i think 6 inch, may have been 6.5). either way it's pretty easy. no idea what are the best money can buy is, but if you are willing to spend up decent coin maybe just get some splits? it's not that much more effort to mount the cross over and tweeter. I really like boston accoustics and have enjoyed their splits very much in previous cars, but listen to some speakers and choose some you like. -
can you post the graph with rpm instead of speed? curious to figure out what rpm it's all happening at.
-
yeah it was a sign of things to come for us modern folk what's 476hp in kw? nice work mate, though it may be about 470hp more than you can handle sunshine edit: figured it out, about 350rwkw. not too shabby.
-
yep, that's the ones. and yes, sadly we must credit the kiwis with their manufacture, but they are very nice seats. I think the fabric on them seems a little nicer than my cobra evolution too. they really are worth a look and I think they may edge out the cobra in weight too. dane, yeah I tried out jacks one when I was at phillip island and it's very comfy. like I said, juding by the number of top V8 SC teams using them and teams in rally etc too they are a good thing.

R32 Parts, Bride Rail, S15 Gt Spoiler
Beer Baron replied to ray32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
do not bump your thread daily. once a week or so to let people know your items are still for sale is ok, bumping it daily is not. consider this the friendly warning. -
yep, it was me and it's black. probably just a bit dirty.
-
that thing looks awesome, but you would think after all that effort they could have at least put a carbon seat in it instead of the fibreglass version, especially in a car that really has it's light weight as the key to it's pace. bloody tight asses!
-
my advice is if you are looking at brand new seats then check out the racetech ones too. I love the cobra evolution GT I have in my GTR but I would seriously consider giving it up for a racetech. they are very comfy and must be pretty good judging by the number of V8 super car teams now using them.
-
you know I'll be there mate.
-
I think it's sexy. you beast man. it's like a little devil patch.

the only way to do a 'personal import' is to live in the country overseas for at least 12months and own the car there for at least 12 months then bring it back with you to aus. not feasible at all unless you currently live in japan. personal imports I would say count for less than 1% of car imports.

benm, mate further to tokyo taxi be very wary of that jack. does it just have a single piston at the back? look like it does. it looks almost identical to one I bought a few years ago. it was great at first, 5 or 5 pumps to full height, light enough to carry, then one day part of the plate cracked off and shot out like a bullet where it disintegrated onto the wall narowly missing my head (and a mate), then one of the wheels broke (no big deal, happens some times), then the lift started to fck up. we took it apart and replaced a seal, all good. then it happened again, sometimes it would get stuck etc, basically it was just no good. the revised models have a stronger plate and twin pistons on the back. our one cost $300 too. so just be carefull with it. actually scott would have seen spencer and I use it a few times on spencers car and even on a 800kg race alfa it used to fck out.
