Gtr Vs Gtst Huge Difference In Performance?
Beer Baron replied to boostin_r33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
cubes, what kind of power is your 30 putting out these days (i know it's OT, just curious!). anyway, this thread is a bit pointless now. sadly most of the people posting in it are so one eyed and biased they can't see anyone else's point of view as being valid. from the factory I still don't change my view that the GTR is a FAR better car. troy, I know what you are saying about how a few choice tweaks make the GTST a GTR beater (and I agree), but try and remember what a bone stock GTST is like to drive. I do, and it's pretty average. bone stock GTR on the other hand is still quite fun, and fast. at the same time I owned a bone stock GTST (just cat back exhaust and a pod filter) and I had a nice 32 GTR that was the same (just cat back and pod). The GTST was still fun, but pretty slow and handling not so good. the GTR however was great fun and still quite rapid and handled very nicely. once things get modified there is no clear answer. any modified car can beat any modified car can beat any other modified car. it's not so important what you started with, but what you end up with. -

Gtr Vs Gtst Huge Difference In Performance?
Beer Baron replied to boostin_r33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yes there is a big difference. look at this list off the top of my head. GTR, better engine both stock and potential wise GTR better brakes GTR better suspension GTR better diff (2 way LSD vs viscous rubbish) GTR better body (light alluminium panels, big flared guards, tough look) GTR better wheels GTR better seats GTR better interior trim GTR better intercooler GTR bigger injectors and that is just in factory form. ash made a good point. you can get a stock R32 GTR to 250awkw with just a small boost increase, a re-map/PFC, exhaust and cam gear adjustment. on a 32 GTST those same mods get you about 150 or 160rwkw and you are pushing the turbo past it's happy zone. R33 GTST will get you about 190rwkw but again, turbo is running out as is everything else, 34 GTT may get to 200rkw at this stage, but R33 GTR will reach 260awkw and R34 GTR around 270awkw. and they do it easily. to get 270rwkw out of an R32/33/34 GTST you need a lot of gear. and you still have the same old interior, brakes, wheels, suspension, bodywork etc etc. The things the GTST has going for it are: cheaper cheaper to repair too cheap-ish to mod lighter (big advantage this one) still fun to drive but yeah, it's not really fair to compare the two. one is clearly superior in almost every way, and that's how it's meant to be. and the price tag reflects that. -
my personal preference is for ARC. their cores are lighter than most, AND they have very good flow over the core (something most people don't consider). this means your radiator still gets 'some' decent airflow. many people install big FMICs then wonder "why does my coolant overheat on the track" reason being from the factory everything is finely balanced and works together, you upset that balance and things go wrong. having said that trust cores are very nice too. bear in mind the cheaper M spec and LS spec kits use cheaper cores. but fark they are cheap, and have very nice alloy piping. I wouldn't put one anywhere near my GTR but it was good enough for my drift pig silvia and at about $350 brand new good value too. to sum up, I would get the ARC.

oh, and it has lots of advantages over the other versions of SR20. it has solid lifters, bigger cams, better springs, better head, quad throttles, piston oil squirters in the block, bigger T28 steel wheel turbo (that can handle serious boost), different block, different crank (wider conrods and conrod bearings too), some say better pistons too. that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Wash Your Car (legally) From This Saturday
Beer Baron replied to colossus's topic in New South Wales
I can't believe our government is stupid enough to relax water restrictions now that we have some decent water in the dam. I mean it's not like it's full. they are morons. most peolpe have gotten used to the restrictions and work within the laws without any problems. so just leave it that way and let our dam fill even more. 60% in my eyes is no good. if it were at 85% I'd say sure go for it. but 60% is nothing to cheer about. -
well sometimes since the oil system is under pressure of min 2 bar and anything up to 8 bar. the coolant system is only ever under 1 bar max. so if the two meet you can imagine what is going to happen...

personally I would just buy the genuine 34 GTR seats. everyone keeps telling me they are the same. same factory blah blah blah. but that's rubbish. there are heaps of differences, and to me the east bear copies just don't like as nice. like the name says they are copies. they will need rails or modified stock sliders to fit. genuine 34 seats will bolt straight in.

yes it is true. I guess in a way I am an F1 driver. I told plenty of people that when I was in japan and they all seemed to believe me. things went even better though when I started telling people I was a team owner... paula can shuffle my deck any time...

Where Is The Fuel Pump On R34 Gtr?
Beer Baron replied to Got Boost?'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
sorry, I wasn't trying to be smart, it is in the fuel tank.I can't remember off the top of my head where the access panel is but take out your boot trim and all will be revealed. -

R32 Gtr Brake Upgrade Advice
Beer Baron replied to LotusGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
nismo don't make any of the brake ducts anymore. they are long since discontinued. if you like you can always buy the GTST ones and just modify a bit. I had them on my GTR as a prototype before. they fitted up ok. -

yeah I think they are now. -
even the loser F1 drivers can pull super hot chicks. I really am in the wrong field.... even the likes of sato probably got to dip his wick in a few groupies.

change of topic. I reckon bourdais is not long for this game. no doubt his car is sub par, but looking at what vettel is doing in it is making bourdais look very second rate. I predict at the end of the year he will be one more camp car driver who couldn't cut it in F1. I'm not sure if this is the 'wife' they keep referring to, or if he just took a photo op with her (miss france) but if he's getting in there then it is the best move he will pull all season. she is smoking.

bummer. never mind. bit of a shame though, you reckon they could afford the 8 cents and 15 seconds it takes to print the graph....

oh, that reminds me, did we get dyno sheets from the dyno comp? if yes, can I have mine.

I'm dying to see some of the little grey 32!

d'oh! but at least hammond doesn't suffer from dimentia like allen seems to. he is all over the shop. he must sink about 12 cans before he goes on air I reckon. the number of mistakes he makes is laugable, and poor old brundle has to sit their trying to pretend it's not happening. I reckon heiki and webber should swap seats. a good experienced driver like webber could certainly help louis out. sure louis can drive, but it's all the other things he needs help with, keeping calm, managing the team, the press all the other bits. and webber is no hack and would benefit hugely from a mclaren under him. surely he would help take points away from the others in order to help mclaren with the WDC and the WCC. heiki on the other hand may well flourish in a team where he could well be the no1 but with an older team mate (DC) who is still sharp to guide him and help mold him into a top driver. plus no pressure on him to perform in a red bull, but still enough car under him to do what webber does and grab points when the chance arises. it's a win win.

duncan and troy are right. channel 10 intentionally have their lame live crap like rove and big brother running over time, all the time. partly because they cram in more adds, and also it farks everything up. duncan is right. if bb runs to say 9:40 and all other channels programming starts at 9:30 no one is going to want to switch over only to have missed the first 10 mins of that show. also it nabs people who switch on at 9:30 for whatever is after BB and they get stuck with the last 10 min. I've also noticed ch10 chop off bits of shows. especially the simpsons they seem to often chop off the last 1 or 2 seconds of a segment. really pisses me off. -
good plan big fella. you will need all the room you can muster. piss off the headlining too. it's nice to remove weight so high in the cabin, helps with centre of gravity, and will give some headroom too. just make sure you are comfy when the seat is fitted! and add some extra holes in the sidemounts BEFORE you fit them so you can adjust the position a little if needed.

lol, that's pretty much what it is. all the driveline parts are 2007 and most of the interior and under body stuff too. it's like a brand new 32 GTR.
