well you could well be right. I do have a little fear inside telling me that after years of being handed sub-par cars and driving them to above par results he may not know what to do with it if he finally got a decent ride.

woah... mate you were the one who brought up money. saying how great it is they bring all this money into the country. I simply pointed out that it's not the case. I work in the CBD where most of these pilgrims are in the day time and all the business I have spoken to have experienced a downturn as many workers in the city were encouraged to take leave (yet another cost). you are the one who is naive if you think this event had a positive impact on our economy. and again, you were the one who brought it up mate. and yes, 2.5mil is peanuts. and again, all the money from souveniers, and accomodation, and registration and WYD gear goes to the catholic church. not to the government, or businesses or the comunity as a whole. why don't you think about africa and all those people your church helps and shell out $100+mil over there instead of on a little party over here...
-
no they aren't. they are draining it. the pilgrims are all using either free accomodation in peoples houses, or paying a nominal rate to stay in a catholic school hall. packages start at $50 a WEEK! hardly big money. the money for that goes to the catholic church. they only thing they spend money on is WYD merchandise (money to church), starbucks, and macdonalds. and on the other side our state government is spending 10s of millions on this thing. if we didn't have a god botherer as a premier this would never have happend. as it is no one is spending money in hotels, or bars, or brothels, or drug dealers unlike when the olympics was on and they all did a roaring trade.

i reckon all those years at maclaren when he kept getting just pipped for the WDC by schuey took a bit out of kimi. I would say he feels he should have won his first WDC quite some years ago.

yeah no one likes driving with a burny botty. apparently he couldn't sit down for a long time after that one. webber is one of those guys that's impossible to dislike. he nice, modest, funny, has massive jaw, drives hard, says what he means. but for f**ks sake someone give the man a drive so we can find out if he really does have what it takes.

I'm not convinved rosberg is all that hot shit. he didn't look so flash next to webber at williams in 06. webber well and truly had his measure, even though it was a crap year all round for williams. I agree with adam, hambo's dad is indeed a small fish in a big pond. plus I just don't think he's as smart as he thinks he is. I also agree with troy on webber Vs Vettel. webber will need to give young vettel a spanking if he hopes to step up. and why is kimi leaving ferarri? and where can he go that will be as good? surely not back to mclaren... and outside for ferarri and mclaren there is a big gap to the next team.

My Importing Journey
Beer Baron replied to hanyou's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I did try to warn you about kiwi and the hassles of shipping a car to brisbane when you live in sydney. they take fking forever and in the meantime treat your car like rubbish. and the mind boggling part is when you factor in the road freight portion that their subidy doesn't cover that makes them more expensive than using mitsui or NYK. so you pay more money, for a slower and more hazardous service. anyway, on the brightside I guess not too long now (hopefully!). -
yeah I want it bad. so does troy. i've been trying to get the owner to sell it to me for a little while now. it's hardly used any more. spends most of it's time warming the parking lot. I guess that's how it happens, you build a car, and while developing it and fine tuning you drive it heaps. once you think it's finished you lose a bit of motovation to get out there in it. so hopefully it will be oz bound sooner or later. it would be pretty fun to drive I reckon.

marlin re animal see above! 2.2litre, built at prime garage. all the usual good bits. supposedly a very quick track car and quite light. the current owner still drives it on the road too! got to love japan.
-
oh yeah. if things go our way big boy we can enter it next years super lap. doesn't matter who buys it, me or you. but either way we both get a steer. looks like a GTST. mmm motec. wha?
-
yeah he's cool with that too....

the pope told me he's going to get you fatz. when you least expect it. he doesn't like the way you make fun of men who like men.
-

Stoptech Brakes

i would wager the ST40s are just another F40 brembo copy like the greddy ones are... just buy troys Greddy kit and be done with it. they look hot. -
guys, the personal insults are a bit much. let's tone that down a notch pls. johnny, I'm sure you can empathise with the people who were outraged by your temperature management techniques. it is a downright silly thing to do. and yes it does endanger other road users. I have seen bonnets fly open that were not shut properly and it's never pretty. it happens a lot at ammatuer trackdays and as a result people are now requried to affix additional methods of securing the bonnet shut. apart from the obvious danger the cooling benefit of this will not be as good as you think. engine bay airflow is very carefully managed from the factory. and messing it up often sees you go backwards cooling wise.

Importing Gtr, Few Questions
Beer Baron replied to abu's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
questions like that need to be asked of the workshop who is complying the car. I might say, "sure, I don't have a problem with an aftermarket cooler, as it's in the factory location and a direct replacement" but then another guy may say "all parts must be standard, no exceptions". same with the engine. don't ask anonymous people on a forum, ask vicroads, as dotars, ask your compliance workshop. my feeling based on my experience is it won't cause any problem at all. but what if I'm wrong? -
it's definitely going to suck duncan.
-
except for me that is. I'm so laid back I'm getting sleepy.
-
most people I know who are happy with their thermos on a GTR are running a big single insdide the factory shroud.
